KIM JONG UN INSPECTS TERMINAL OF PYONGYANG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, together with Ri Sol Ju gave field guidance to the Terminal of Pyongyang International Airport which was successfully completed.
He commanded a bird's-eye view of the terminal from his plane. Saying that Pyongyang International Airport was well built in a neat and fashionable manner, he set forth the tasks for radically changing the looks of its area in harmony with the modern terminal.
He stressed that the looks of the vicinity of the airport, including the areas of Sunan District and Thaekam Farm, should undergo a dramatic change as befitting the gateway to the capital city of Pyongyang, under the Party's master plan for the development of the airport area, and high-speed railways and motorway from the airport to the city center should be built to ensure smooth traffic.
After getting down through an air bridge, he went round the newly-built terminal. He was very satisfied to see the terminal well built as required by modern architectural beauty and national character. He noted with pleasure that the gatepost of the airport was erected in such way as to sustain the national character and the front and back of the terminal look very nice.
Going round departure waiting lounge, check-in hall, entry formalities hall, arrival hall, service hall, VIPs rooms and other places of the terminal, he learned in detail about their construction and preparations for their operation.
Recalling that leader Kim Jong Il gave a series of instructions to build well Pyongyang International Airport till the last moments of his life, Kim Jong Un said his instructions had been implemented at last. I feel deep remorse at the failure to show Kim Jong Il this wonderful terminal, he said, adding:
The leader would have been very glad to hear that the airport was built wonderfully like this by our own efforts. His smiling image is fresh in my memory.
Kim Jong Un gave his thanks on behalf of the Party Central Committee to the soldier-builders, officials of commissions, ministries and national institutions and working people who built the terminal as a model edifice in the Songun era to be proud of before the world.
Stressing the need to successfully ensure the management and operation of the terminal, he specified the tasks and ways for having a splendid inaugural ceremony on July 1 and starting serving passengers.
He ardently called for building many edifices symbolic of the thriving and highly-civilized country by displaying the same creative enthusiasm for creating the Korean speed as done in the construction of the terminal and thus significantly adorning the venue of the grand October festival.

PARADIGM OF INTERNATIONALISM

“Comrade Kim Il Sung is a genuine proletarian internationalist and a paradigm of communist movement, who defended our Soviet Union at the cost of the blood, with arms, from the aggression of the imperialists in the East.”
This was a passage from the congratulatory message made by Iosif Stalin of the former Soviet Union, proposing a toast to President Kim Il Sung (1912-1994) on his official visit to Russia in 1949 with the DPRK government delegation.
Kim Il Sung supported with arms the Soviet Union, first socialist state in the world, under the slogan “Let us defend the Soviet Union with arms!” while waging an arduous armed struggle against the Japanese imperialists to liberate his country from their military occupation, without state backing and support from regular armed forces. When the Japanese imperialists provoked armed conflicts against the Soviet Union, including the incidents of Lake Khasan and Khalkin-Gol in 1938 and 1939 respectively, Kim Il Sung saw that the KPRA units launched harassment operations in support of the Soviet Union behind the enemy lines, inflicting great damage on the enemy’s manpower and war materiel and frustrating military transport. By doing so, he rendered great service to the victory of the Soviet army.
Kim Il Sung gave active support to Chinese revolutionaries in their anti-Japanese war.
Chen Lei, one of commanding officers of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Allied Army (NAJAA), wrote in his memoirs:
“As is well known across the world, Comrade Kim Il Sung’s devotion to the Chinese revolution and people in the whole course of the anti-Japanese revolution was so genuine that we should offer our thousand thanks. President Kim Il Sung, while waging bravely armed struggle against the Japanese imperialists and to liberate the lost country, established brotherly ties with senior officers of the NAJAA and spared no efforts to assist Chinese revolution. Sometimes he unhesitatingly sent commanding officers and soldiers he had trained with loving care and such aid materials as ammunition and uniforms, though it caused difficulty to him.”
Even after Korea’s liberation Kim Il Sung gave unstinted material and spiritual assistance to the Chinese revolutionaries in their struggle against Jiang Jieshi’s Kuomintang army, thus making a decisive contribution to their efforts to overcome the difficulties and create favourable circumstances in Northeast China.
Chairman Mao Zedong stated that Korean comrades helped the Chinese counterparts whenever the latter was in trouble. Zhu De, commander of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, the friendship sealed in blood between China and Korea was a good example to be cherished deep in mind of the rising generations.
President Kim Il Sung, notwithstanding the difficult conditions that the Korean people had to build socialism after the Korean war (1950-1953) in constant showdown with the United States, the ringleader of the world imperialism, rendered positive assistance to the countries and peoples of the world in their struggle against imperialism and for independence.
At the outset of the 1960s the United States created the Cuban Missile Crisis in an attempt to crush the Cuban revolution in its bud.
The President saw to it that the DPRK expressed full support to and solidarity with the Cuban people and sent all kinds of assistance to them. True to his intention, staff members of the DPRK Embassy and Koreans studying in Cuba prepared themselves for the fight against the US with arms and in the same trench with the Cuban people.
When the Tonkin Gulf Incident was triggered off in August 1964, the President ensured that the DPRK gave selfless assistance to the Vietnamese people struggling against the aggression of the US. He had pilots of the Korean People’s Army dispatched to the Vietnamese front and millions of military uniforms and other materials sent. Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh said that President Kim Il Sung was the saviour who helped Vietnam heart and soul and his real brother.
Out of his noble obligation of internationalism President Kim Il Sung assisted not only Vietnamese but also Cambodian and Laotian people fighting against the aggression of the US, and Egyptian, Syrian and other Arab people struggling against Zionism.
He also clarified orientations and ways for the peoples of Angola, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Namibia and other countries in Africa who were engaged in national liberation struggle and rendered all possible aid to them, helping them usher in a new era of freedom and independence in Africa, once called the Dark Continent. Sam Nujoma, first president of the Republic of Namibia, praised that his country owed its independence to President Kim Il Sung and the latter was the great teacher of the Namibian revolution. President Samora Moises Machel of Mozambique, saying that as the great hero Comrade Kim Il Sung showed them the road ahead, the Mozambican people could greet the liberation free from the slavery lot, shouted in admiration that he extended thanks, the thanks of the ancestors together, to the President from the bottom of their heart.
Two decades have passed since President Kim Il Sung passed away, but he is always remembered by the progressive peoples of the world as the paradigm of noble internationalism.

REAL MEANING OF THE KOREAN WAR

The Western media and politicians have so far described the Korean war (1950-1953) as a conflict between the fellow countrymen in the Korean peninsula and brought the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to account for starting it. In other words, they insist, the US-led Western countries had no other choice but to enter the war in order to prevent invasion by North Korea (the DPRK).
Recently, the tone of their argument for the Korean war has become stranger. Last year on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the conclusion of the Korean Armistice Agreement the American politicians held a “celebration” at an opening ceremony of a memorial hall of the Korean war in the building of the US Defense Department. There they claimed that the term “forgotten war” should be revised into a “forgotten victory,” revealing their ulterior intention to disguise its defeat in the Korean war as victory.
However, it is a stark fact that the Korean war was fought between the DPRK and the US and that the provoker was the latter and the victor was the former.
The US, having occupied south Korea in the guise of a “liberator” at the end of the Second World War, started the war on June 25, 1950, in order to realize its wild dream of occupying the whole Korea and further bringing the Asian continent under its dominations.
It was the fiercest one unprecedented in history.
While instigating the south Korean army to make a sudden armed invasion against the north, the US hurled into the war one-third of its ground force, one-fifth of its air force and the greater part of the Pacific Fleet, and spent US$ 165 billion for the military expenditure. It mobilized the troops of its 15 vassal states and the remnants of the former Japanese army and also employed the combat equipment that had been regarded as the best in the world and even biological weapons that was forbidden by international laws.
That the DPRK, which was five years after it was liberated from the long military occupation by Japanese imperialism and was less than two years since its founding, fought against the US which was a ringleader of imperialism and had become fat through wars was a heroic event. The whole world worried what would become of young Korea.
However, a miracle was wrought. Beyond all expectations and commonsense, the DPRK beat the US.
Its brilliant victory in the war was attributable to the gifted stratagem and wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung. With the confidence that although a country had weak military and economic foundations, it could surely win a final victory as long as there were the Party, the state, the territory and the people, Kim Il Sung led the war situation to a favourable phase. Thanks to his superb and unique strategies and tactics, including the initiative counteroffensive, creation of a model battle of modern encirclement, formation of a second front in the enemy’s rear and active positional defence warfare, the US and multinational troops were destroyed and finally surrendered to the Korean people.
The former Portuguese President Francisco da Costa Gomes who had participated in the Korean war as the Chief of Staff of the Portuguese troops on the US side said that the operations plans presented by the United States in the war had all been formulated by chiefs of staff and generals of the Western countries on the US side and that General Kim Il Sung frustrated them all single-handed.
In fact, enlisted in the Korean war were not only the generals but also heads of state and prominent figures as well as war merchants, including Truman, Eisenhower and Dulles of the US and Sir Eden and Churchill of Great Britain. It was not fortuitous that at the beginning of the war many people of the world believed the US bragging that the war would be finished within 72 hours.
But the victory much vaunted by the US and its “unquestioned mightiness” became the shattered dream and myth.
In the three-year Korean war the US sustained the loss nearly 2.3 times greater than what it had suffered in the four-year Pacific War, and signed the armistice agreement which was as good as a surrender document, on July 27, 1953.
The conclusion of the AA produced lamentations within the US.
“I gained the unenviable distinction of being the first United States Army Commander in history to sign an armistice agreement without victory.” (Mark Clark, commander of the UN forces)
“The myth exploded to atoms, and it became clear to everyone that the United States was not so strong as others had thought her to be.” (George Marshall, US Defense Secretary).
Though sixty years have elapsed since then, the same as ever are the geopolitical position of Korea and anti-DPRK hostile policy of the US in its pursuit of world domination. Subsequently, dark clouds of a new war are hanging over the Korean peninsula.
However, it must be brought to attention that Korea is not the country as it was yesterday.
It has developed into a politico-ideological power with single-hearted unity of the army and people around the leader, a military power fully prepared for both defence and offence, and a nuclear state, manufacturer and launcher of artificial earth satellites, and a power with advanced science and technology. It is a stark reality that any country however powerful dares not challenge the DPRK.
All the service personnel and people of the DPRK are watching keenly the manoeuvres of the US and its followers to start a new war and full of determination to lose no chance of eradicating the US, the chieftain of war and den of all evils, on this planet, in case of any provocation.
The past Korean war in which the US suffered the first defeat in its history, brought about the beginning of its downhill-turn. And new Korean war will be highlighted as a great event that will bring about a fatal doom of the US empire in human history.

US MOVES AGAINST DPRK CENSURED
A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK gave an answer to a question put by KCNA on June 26 condemning the US Department of State for slandering the dignified DPRK once again in its "annual report on human rights".
He noted: The assistant secretary of the US State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labour in a special press conference on June 25 talked about "change", malignantly taking issue with the DPRK over its "human rights issue".
He revealed once again the US sinister attempt to carry out its ambition for bringing down the Korean-style socialist system centred on the popular masses at any cost under the pretext of "protecting human rights".
The US is dreaming a foolish dream that any "change" would take place in the DPRK, just something such as provoking a side-splitting laughter.
The US will see the DPRK's military muscle increasing in every way and its people enjoying a happy life under socialism.
Now that the US persists in the hostile policy towards the DPRK, it will take tougher countermeasures.
The world will clearly see how the DPRK will smash the US moves for isolating and stifling it
