Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Gives Field Guidance at Construction Site of Kusong City Hospital

 

fPyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, gave field guidance at the construction site of Kusong City Hospital on June 9.

He was accompanied by Jo Yong Won and Ri Hi Yong, secretaries of the Central Committee of the WPK, and Kim Jae Ryong and Kim Yong Su, department directors of the Central Committee of the WPK.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was greeted on the spot by officials of the construction unit and design institutions.

Making the rounds of the construction site, he learned in detail about the progress made in the construction.

The Kusong City Hospital is one of the hospitals which are under construction on different scales on a demonstration basis in three cities and counties in 2025, according to the decision of the Eleventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK.

Kim Jong Un said that at present the construction sector, a major sphere of our struggle and the main front symbolizing the steady advance and development of our state, is continuously expanding and developing, and the fulfilment of the huge construction plan designed by our Party indispensably requires the rapid and qualitative strengthening of the construction workforce.

Construction, which proves with definite entities the leap forward towards civilization and rejuvenation we aspire to, is carried out from start to finish by the construction workforce, the mainstay of the gigantic creative struggle, he said, adding that it is our Party's view that the preparation of the workforce means a sure guarantee for the construction revolution in the new era.

Saying that the historic task of rapidly establishing a national system for expanding and strengthening the workforce in a qualitative way should be tackled correctly, he underscored its importance repeatedly.

Strengthening the workforce is not an immediate short-term issue but a strategic task in the ten-year construction struggle for regional rejuvenation, he noted. He pointed out that although large workforces of the People's Army have been dispatched to the huge construction fronts formed by our Party at present and their revolutionary enthusiasm is growing day by day, the efficiency of using the workforces is not ensured at the proper level due to the non-specialization and inexperience in the organization and command of construction.

In order to ensure a vigorous advance of gigantic construction to which our Party and state are directing much effort, a rapid state measure should be taken for the qualitative strengthening of the workforce with the main emphasis put on training skilled workers, he said, adding that, to this end, an intensive short course will be organized for the present to improve the practical abilities of officials in the construction sector of units at all levels.

Kim Jong Un said that the intensive short course for officials at all levels in the construction sector to be held after the Twelfth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Party should deal with the urgent problems arising in carrying out the construction revolution, including the establishment of a well-regulated system of training skilled workers.

He said that the gigantic struggle for the implementation of our Party's regional development policy should be a revolution to fundamentally and ultimately put an end to the centuries-old backwardness and laggardness of the regional areas and, at the same time, a process of transforming the old customs, outdated culture and obsolete technology that remain in the construction sector in line with the new era and a historic process of training all the builders to be creators of new culture and new civilization and genuine socialist builders.

We have a guards hero unit, that is a unit of competent construction educators with excellent construction potentiality, and if all the experience and models being created by them in construction are positively applied to the construction enterprises at all levels and military construction groups, amazing progress will be made in carrying out our Party's construction policy, he said, adding that this problem can also be solved through the technical short course.

Saying that it is a key issue to train the reliable technical forces necessary for the assembly of equipment as the hospital is, unlike dwelling houses and industrial buildings, a functional building in which the terminals of the infrastructure, medical equipment and appliances and all other things should be technically compatible with one another, Kim Jong Un set forth a series of important tasks, which should be carried out in the construction field without delay, including the issue of examining the establishment of an enterprise specializing in medical equipment assembly and the issue of further increasing the proportion of construction work done by machines and steadily improving the level of modernization of equipment.

 

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Meets Secretary of Russian Security Council Sergei Shoigu

 

Pyongyang, June 5 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, met Sergei Shoigu on a visit to the DPRK leading a delegation of the Security Council of the Russian Federation upon authorization of Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, president of the Russian Federation, at the headquarters building of the WPK Central Committee on June 4.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un gladly received Comrade Sergei Shoigu visiting Pyongyang again in just 70-odd days and had a friendly and trustworthy talk with him.

Sergei Shoigu courteously conveyed the friendly greetings from Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Kim Jong Un expressed his deep thanks for it, and sent his warm comradely greetings to the respected Comrade Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.

Shoigu conveyed the special thanks of the Russian leadership for the matchless heroism and self-sacrificing spirit displayed by the Korean people’s excellent sons who participated in the operations for liberating the Kursk area and defended the precious part of the Russian territory as they would do their own motherland, fighting shoulder to shoulder with the Russian soldiers in the same trench

Discussed in depth at the talk were a series of important matters for defending the common core interests by more solidly developing the special and firm comprehensive strategic partnership between the DPRK and Russia and items of mutual cooperation in different fields. Also exchanged in a broad way at the talk were views and opinions of the leaderships of the two countries on the development of situation over the Ukrainian crisis and on the international and regional situations. The talk confirmed the consensus of stand of the two sides.

Kim Jong Un affirmed that the government of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea would, in the future, too, unconditionally support the stand of Russia and its foreign policies in all the crucial international political issues including the Ukrainian issue and responsibly observe the articles of the treaty between the DPRK and Russia.

He expressed expectation and conviction that Russia would, as ever, surely win victory in the just and sacred cause for defending its national sovereignty, territorial integrity and security interests.

Expressed at the talk was the will of the leaderships of the two countries to continue to dynamically expand and develop the DPRK-Russia relations into powerful and comprehensive relations of strategic partnership that fully conform to the national interests of the two countries and wellbeing of their peoples and contribute to realizing genuine international justice.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Gives Field Guidance at Hospital and Leisure Complex under Construction in Kangdong County

 Pyongyang, June 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, gave field guidance at a hospital and leisure complex under construction in Kangdong County on June 2.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was accompanied by Kim Tok Hun, Kim Jae Ryong, O Su Yong and other senior officials of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

Kim Jong Un was greeted on the spot by commanding officers of the units of the Korean People’s Army involved in the construction and officials of design institutions.

First, he looked round the Kangdong County Hospital under construction.

He heard from officials concerned a report on the progress made in the project so far and the future plan for construction progress.

Going round various places of the construction site, including the outpatient ward section, operating theatre section, inpatient ward section and the underground car park section, he learned in detail about the construction.

Saying that the work of building modern public health facilities in cities and counties across the country is a great revolution for developing the public healthcare, which has lagged behind other sectors, to surpass them in ten years, he stressed that our spirit of serving the people and attitude to them should be examined once again in the course of successfully carrying out this innovative plan with redoubled efforts. And he reaffirmed his determination and will to build all city and county hospitals into symbols of socialist public health in our era, which fully embody the Party’s plan for modernizing public health and its Juche-oriented idea on architectural beauty.

Acquainting himself in detail with the functionality and convenience of elements of different systems of the hospital, he pointed out every measure to be taken. He referred to the importance of responsibly building three hospitals of different scales including this project being carried out this year as model ones for the overall development of public health of the country.

In the course of this, optimal schemes for designing regional hospitals of different categories will be confirmed and on the basis of it, the future plans for building up the overall public health facilities will be drawn up in greater detail on the principle of ensuring economic efficiency and practicality, he noted.

He said that the construction of a hospital is an ensemble of the latest medical technology and building techniques and what is as important as the construction is the medical equipment and medical forces. Strengthening of the medical forces should be regarded as the main link in the implementation of the public health policy and the main work that should be pushed ahead with on a medium- and long-term basis, he said, repeatedly stressing the importance of the task of improving the specialist qualifications of the regional public health workers in particular and training medical workers in a systematic, scientific and future-oriented way. Then he clarified the orientation and ways to this end.

Saying that the pharmaceutical industry of the country should be radically boosted in order to supply enough medicines to hospitals to be built in all cities and counties across the country, he stressed the need to thoroughly examine the state system of supplying medicines and take reinforcement measures.

He put forth various tasks for making preparations for operating the hospital.

Then he visited the construction site of the Kangdong County Leisure Complex.

He learned in detail about the construction from the commanding officer of the unit.

He said that it is most important to firmly prepare construction workforce before anything else in carrying out the Party’s policy on regional development without an inch of deflection, particularly stressing that all the construction regiments should have a vital stake in strengthening the ranks of skilled workers and push ahead with their training according to scientific goals and plans.

Referring to the issues arising in training competent design and construction forces throughout the country, standardizing and enshrining in law the advanced construction methods and achieving rapid development of the building-materials industry, he set forth important tasks for implementing them.

Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- A spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea issued the following press statement titled "The aggressive forces who brought a new war to the Middle East will never evade the responsibility for destroying global peace" on June 19:

The illegal act of state-sponsored terrorism by Israel which launched a reckless large-scale military attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran at dawn of June 13 is sparking off strong denunciation and concern of the international community, raising the danger of a new all-out war in the Middle East region.

The daily-escalating Israel's reckless military attack on civilians in wanton violation of international law and the basic principle of the UN Charter is a hideous act of aggression wantonly violating the sovereignty and territorial integrity of a sovereign state and an unpardonable crime against humanity.

The DPRK expresses serious concern over the Israel's military attack and resolutely denounces it.

The present grave situation witnessed by the world clearly proves that Israel, supported and patronized by the U.S. and the West, is a cancer-like entity for the peace in the Middle East and a chief culprit of destroying global peace and security.

Israel has steadily expanded its territory through four Middle East wars and tens of military invasions in the past. In recent years alone, it has escalated military attacks on the Gaza Strip of Palestine, the West Bank of the Jordan River, Lebanon, Syria and other regional countries step by step, thus massacring tens of thousands of civilians and creating a serious humanitarian crisis.

Press Statement by Director of Institute for Japan Studies under DPRK Foreign Ministry

 

Pyongyang, June 16 (KCNA) -- On June 15, the director of the Institute for Japan Studies under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) issued the following press statement titled "It is the inevitable moral responsibility and international legal obligation of the war criminal state of Japan to face up to the history and liquidate its past":

Eighty years have passed since the Japanese imperialists, who had stained the continent of Asia with blood and imposed unprecedented misfortune upon the peoples of the regional countries, knelt down and declared their unconditional surrender.

According to recent media reports, there are conflicting opinions in Japan on the issue of making public the prime minister's press statement over the past war of aggression on the day marking the 80th anniversary of the defeat of the Japanese imperialism.

Conscientious organizations and personages are demanding that the government clearly clarifies its stand on apology at an important historical point and, on the other hand, the ultra-right conservative politicians are quibbling that Japan already put a full stop to the "diplomacy of apology" with Abe's press statement which was issued 70 years after the war.

What should not be overlooked is the fact that the present prime minister of Japan is taking a confused attitude in this regard and is trying to patch up by making public his personal opinion through the review of the Second World War.

The "war review" to be conducted by Japan is not an investigation into the aggressive war crimes committed in the past but is an investigation into such extremely inessential and confused ones as the institutional issue of the government's failure to put the brakes on the self-opinionated action of the military authorities and the explanation of the circumstances where the military caused civilian damage in the reckless war.

In particular, the prime minister said some time ago at the Diet's discussion on the issue of the press statement that the civilian control method, in which the "officer of the Self-Defense Forces" is not allowed to appear in the Diet under the present constitutional law, should be called to account. His remarks reveal the sinister scheme to pave the way for the legalization of the "Self-Defense Forces" with the "war review".

In front of the international community, Japan is trying to pass the 80 years of its defeat with such specious words as "war review" and "achievements as a peaceful state", while talking about the "termination of the diplomacy of apology". This is an unpardonable mockery of and insult to the peoples of the DPRK and other Asian countries who are suffering from the hideous crimes of the Japanese imperialists and an open provocation to the international justice and conscience.

The history saw records of many war criminal states which mercilessly destroyed the peace and civilization of mankind by seeking pleasure in aggression against other countries and nations, but it is only Japan which is subject to international criticism due to its persistent distortion of history and evasion of liquidation of its past.

Abe's press statement, which the right-wing conservative forces of Japan are trying to regard as a "review of the past history of aggression", is run through with shameless sophisms that the next generation should not be allowed to suffer the same fate of making an apology and there is no more apology for the history of aggression, far from making a frank and sincere apology for the past crimes.

Years passed and a new century has set in. However, Korean people clearly remember the nefarious past crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists against them, the crimes that inflicted huge human, material, mental and cultural damage upon them, while perpetrating the barbarous colonial fascist rule for over 40 years after the occupation of Korea with arms.

The Japanese imperialists brutally massacred more than one million Koreans, abducted and hurled more than 8.4 million young and middle-aged people into battle sites of aggression and slave labour sites, and mercilessly trampled on the youth of 200, 000 Korean women by reducing them into sexual slaves of the Japanese army. Those were hideously unethical crimes unprecedented in history.

The Japanese imperialists had made desperate efforts to wipe the Korean nation off the planet by eliminating the family names, given names, and even the speech and written language of Korea, the nation with the brilliant culture and time-honored history spanning thousands of years while asserting that "the Japanese and the Korean are of the same ancestry" and "Japan and Korea are one community". It is none other than the Japanese imperialists that destroyed and plundered any precious cultural assets and rich natural resources of Korea within their reach.

For the past 80 years since its defeat, Japan has seriously threatened the sovereignty, rights to development and rights to existence of the DPRK while persistently refusing to make an apology and reparation for its crimes against Korean people and pursuing its hostile policy towards the DPRK. It has committed more crimes by encroaching upon the national rights of the Koreans in Japan, the very descendants of the Korean victims of forcible drafting.

A Japanese media once reported that if the documents accusing of the criminal acts committed by the Japanese imperialists in Korea and other Asian countries were piled up, the pile would be as much as 20,000 meters high. And the data on the germ warfare of the notorious Unit 731 and other powerful evidence that are still being uncovered disclose the crimes against humanity committed by the Japanese imperialists, the brutes in human shape.

History cannot be erased by ink, burned by fire, nor torn by sword.

The history of the aggressor and war criminal state remains forever though Japan desperately tries to erase its past crimes with all sorts of trickeries and evade its responsibility, and no statute of limitations is applicable even after 80 or 800 years.

It is the inevitable moral responsibility and international legal obligation of the war criminal state of Japan to face up to the history and liquidate its past with the watershed of 80th anniversary of the Japanese imperialists' defeat in the war, where the bloody records of the Japanese imperialism come into the spotlight.

Entry into U.S. Is Not Matter of Our Interest: International Affairs Analyst

 

Pyongyang, June 10 (KCNA) -- Kim Myong Chol, an international affairs analyst of the DPRK, issued the following article titled "Entry into the U.S. is not a matter of our interest" on June 9:

Recently, the U.S. announced a measure to designate the peoples of 19 countries as the subjects of ban to entry into the U.S. under the pretext of "threat" to its national security.

The arrogant acts of the U.S., which is self-righteous, exclusive and racist, are now faced with strong denunciation and rejection of the international community.

Of course, it is a matter belonging to the sphere of sovereign rights of a relevant country to restrict and control the entry of foreigners.

Nevertheless, the above-said measure taken by the U.S. is incurring a censure of the international community because it is used as a malicious political tool for discriminating and pressurizing other countries.

Great irony is that there is strange interpretation that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was not included in the subjects of the U.S. ban on entry and this measure may reflect the U.S. administration's carrot stand towards the DPRK to open the door to the resumption of dialogue between the two countries.

This cannot be interpreted otherwise than one-sided judgment not knowing well the past and present relations between the DPRK and the U.S.

In 2017, the first term of office, the present U.S. administration included the DPRK in the list of countries subject to entry ban to the U.S. for the unjust reason that it refused to cooperate with the U.S. government and did not meet the demand for sharing information, and maintained it throughout its ruling.

This year when the second term of office began, the U.S. re-designated the DPRK as an "uncooperative state in combating terrorism" and extended again the effect of the measure for totally banning the U.S. citizens' trip to the DPRK.

The reason why the U.S. does not include the DPRK in the list can be explained only by the U.S., whether it is purely for technical reason or for political purpose.

But one obvious fact is that we are not interested in the least in the matter of entry into the U.S.

Even if the present U.S. administration has not placed the DPRK intentionally on the list of countries subject to entry ban, the DPRK is not interested in it and has no reason to be glad.

The U.S., which is the most hostile country to the DPRK and where xenophobia and racial discrimination have been established as a social climate and all sorts of social evils flood, can never be welcomed as the destination of the DPRK citizens' trip.

Shortly ago, the vice-president, the second-ranking person of the present U.S. administration, denounced a U.S. university for lacking "ideological diversity" and made absurd sophism about the political system of the DPRK. This is another typical example why the DPRK has repugnance for the U.S.

If the present U.S. administration thinks that the DPRK will accept the allowing of the entry into the U.S. as a "gift" which it neither thinks nor wants, it is miscalculation.

It is not the matter of the DPRK's concern that the U.S. unilaterally makes illegal regulations outside and places the DPRK in them or not. I think that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea will, in the future, too, not welcome the entry of Americans into it.

This is a just and legitimate exercise of sovereign rights to defend the state and social system and the welfare of the people from all hostile threats of the U.S. and is quite different from the U.S. prejudiced prohibition measure on entry with malicious intention.

The DPRK will not evaluate the U.S. actions on the basis of someone's hopeful observations or subjective interpretation. It will face the U.S. on the basis of the reality and by relying on its own independent judgment.

Press Statement of Chief of External Policy Office of DPRK Foreign Ministry

 

Pyongyang, June 2 (KCNA) -- The chief of the External Policy Office of the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on June 1 issued the following press statement titled "Our efforts to defend the dignity and interests of the state will not be bound by anyone's prejudiced viewpoint and malicious criticism":

Recently, the multilateral sanctions monitoring team (MSMT), the U.S.-led sanctions and plot-breeding body, committed a political provocation of fabricating and making public a "report" taking issue with the cooperative relations between the DPRK and Russia.

The hostile act of the MSMT, a bogus group which has no legality in terms of existence and purpose, is a wanton violation of the international legal principles with sovereignty equality and non-interference in others' internal affairs as the core and a mockery of the fair international community.

We express serious concern over the provocative acts of the West to encroach upon the sovereign rights of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea with its unilateral and high-handed political and legal standards as a yardstick and give stern warning against the negative consequences to be entailed by its reckless acts.

No one has given the U.S. and its followers the mission and power to judge and denounce the legitimate relations between sovereign states at their own discretion, and herein lies the main reason why the existence and activities of the MSMT should be questioned and rejected.

The MSMT, which was formed arbitrarily by eleven countries hostile to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation, is thoroughly a political tool operating according to the geopolitical interests of the West and, therefore, it has no justification to investigate the exercise of sovereign rights of other countries.

The DPRK-Russia military cooperation aimed at protecting the sovereignty, territorial integrity and security interests of the states and ensuring peace and stability in the Eurasian region is a legitimate exercise of the sovereign right granted by Article 51 of the UN Charter which stipulates that each state has the right to self-defense individually or collectively. It is also a legitimate exercise of the sovereign right fully conforming with Article 4 of the treaty on comprehensive strategic partnership between the DPRK and Russia which requires each of the parties to provide military and other assistance in case of an armed attack against the other.

There is a thing to make clear in this opportunity. The reason why the military cooperation between the countries involved in the MSMT has not become the target of international investigation isn't because it is just, defensive and, moreover, peaceful.

The legality and justness of the DPRK-Russia relations based on the new development-oriented point lies in the fact that they are the cream of inter-state relations that put an end to the era, in which a handful of countries formed an illegal and confrontation-oriented political and military group and resort to arbitrary practices at will, and establish a multi-polar world order based on genuine respect for sovereignty, equality and justice.

The DPRK has the right to take strong countermeasures to defend its interests from the outrageous encroachment on its sovereignty and interference in its internal affairs by the member states of the MSMT

The hostile forces' illegal plot-breeding moves will have no effect on the relations of cooperation between independent sovereign states and our efforts to defend the dignity and interests of the state will not be bound by anyone's prejudiced viewpoint and malicious criticism.

Memorandum Issued by Institute for American Studies of DPRK Foreign Ministry

 

Pyongyang, May 27 (KCNA) -- The Institute for American Studies of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK released a memorandum on May 26 to inform the international community that the U.S. establishment of a new missile defense system is a very dangerous "threatening initiative" aimed at threatening the strategic security of the nuclear weapons states regarded by the U.S. with hostility and facilitating the use of the offensive military muscle of the U.S. forces.

According to the memorandum, the U.S. initiative for the Golden Dome missile defense shield whose goal is to tightly defend North America from the ballistic missile, cruise missile and supersonic missile attack from its strategic adversaries is a typical product of "America first", the height of self-righteousness, arrogance, high-handed and arbitrary practice, and is a space nuclear war scenario supporting the U.S. strategy for uni-polar domination with the preemptive establishment of the space-based military infrastructure, not a "defensive measure" to cope with the "threat" from someone.

The memorandum disclosed the U.S. offensive weapon system aimed at the preemptive strike against sovereign states.

The U.S., which defined space as a future battlefield in its early years, has been hell-bent on the moves to militarize space, claiming that those who dominate space can win victory in the future war.

The Golden Dome initiative being advocated by the present U.S. administration is also an expression of another attempt to militarize space based on the past strategies for space domination and the epitome revealing the criminal past of the U.S. which plunged the whole world into the nightmare of a nuclear war outbreak.

Throughout history, the U.S. has justified its moves for space militarization, claiming that the perfect interception of nuclear missiles from its adversaries flying toward its mainland can be realized only by the introduction of the space-based interceptors. Under the pretext of defending its mainland, it has been hell-bent on building a missile defense system targeting independent sovereign states including the DPRK.

Clear is the reason why the U.S. is scheming to fix the so-called "threat" from sovereign states as a pretext for modernizing its missile defense system, persistently spinning out the time-worn sophism just like the guilty party filing the suit first.

It is to preemptively attain military superiority in an all-round way by justifying its hegemony-oriented moves for space arms buildup and accelerating space militarization behind the screen of "mainland defense" and to launch the military strike against its adversaries at will by relying on it. This is the military strategic goal pursued by the U.S. and the main goal of the Golden Dome initiative being prioritized by the present U.S. administration.

The memorandum pointed out the malignant factor that has heated the strategic arms race worldwide and accelerated the potential danger of a space war.

The U.S. initiative for building a new missile defense system is the root cause for sparking off global nuclear and space arms race by stimulating the security concerns of nuclear weapons states and turning space into a potential nuclear war field.

Shortly ago, a U.S. space company announced that the U.S. Space Force is planning the design of an Orbital Carrier called "space aircraft carrier" and will invest 60 million U.S. dollars in it.

The reality in which global concerns are growing about the fact that the advent of the "space aircraft carrier" will be a catalyst for aggravating military confrontation in space is a typical example supporting the catastrophic consequence to be entailed by the U.S. moves to militarize space.

Another example of the U.S. moves to militarize space is the development of the X-37B unmanned space plane being accelerated by the U.S. Space Force.

It is not fortuitous that many space experts comment that the threat posed by the X-37B to the world is not less than a nuclear weapon as the advent of the X-37B is an unpleasant factor reminiscent of the realistic possibility of space warfare that has only been mankind’s imagination.

The memorandum disclosed the U.S. military gamble of risking the security of its satellites.

Since 2016, the U.S. has staged all sorts of missile interception drill including missile alert drill, combined ballistic missile defense drill and naval missile defense drill by mobilizing Aegis destroyers and latest UAVs together with Japan and the ROK.

The U.S. set up a space force unit in the ROK in December 2022. It inaugurated the U.S. space force in Japan at the Yokoda U.S. Air Force Base in December 2024, and formally operated the real-time trilateral missile information sharing system among the U.S., Japan and ROK targeting the DPRK's missile launch in December 2023.

Clear is the aim sought by the U.S. in its persistent attempt to build an inter-connected missile defense system with Japan and the ROK.

Lurking behind it is an attempt to further intensify their military subjugation to the U.S. through the establishment of the inter-connected missile defense system with its satellite countries and to use the forces of its satellites for military operations of the U.S. forces in case of offensive actions against regional countries.

The above-said facts prove that the U.S. moves to build the inter-connected missile defense system are dangerous military gambling prompted by the outrageous and selfish intention of the suzerain state to use its satellites as cannon fodder and bullet shield for realizing its interests even by risking the security of its satellites.

The memorandum pointed out the means of offering profits to ensure constant boom of the U.S. munitions monopolies.

Today, the U.S. military expenditure on the space field are three times the cost of space development for non-military purpose, which corresponds to 95 percent of the space-related expenditure of all the countries in the world.

The present U.S. administration claims that the establishment of the Golden Dome missile defense shield will cost only 175 billion U.S. dollars, but the recent announcement of the U.S. Congressional Budget Office that the cost of building the space-based interceptor missile system will amount to 542 billion U.S. dollars at maximum suggests that the Golden Dome initiative is the largest arms buildup plan in history.

The global security environment, which is becoming uncertain due to the U.S. undisguised moves for space militarization, proves that the security of the state and the region can be reliably guaranteed only by the symmetry of matchless power capable of fully controlling not only the current challenges but also the coming challenges, the memorandum stressed.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Gives Field Guidance at Hospital and Leisure Complex under Construction in Kangdong County

 

Pyongyang, June 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, gave field guidance at a hospital and leisure complex under construction in Kangdong County on June 2.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was accompanied by Kim Tok Hun, Kim Jae Ryong, O Su Yong and other senior officials of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

Kim Jong Un was greeted on the spot by commanding officers of the units of the Korean People’s Army involved in the construction and officials of design institutions.

First, he looked round the Kangdong County Hospital under construction.

He heard from officials concerned a report on the progress made in the project so far and the future plan for construction progress.

Going round various places of the construction site, including the outpatient ward section, operating theatre section, inpatient ward section and the underground car park section, he learned in detail about the construction.

Saying that the work of building modern public health facilities in cities and counties across the country is a great revolution for developing the public healthcare, which has lagged behind other sectors, to surpass them in ten years, he stressed that our spirit of serving the people and attitude to them should be examined once again in the course of successfully carrying out this innovative plan with redoubled efforts. And he reaffirmed his determination and will to build all city and county hospitals into symbols of socialist public health in our era, which fully embody the Party’s plan for modernizing public health and its Juche-oriented idea on architectural beauty.

Acquainting himself in detail with the functionality and convenience of elements of different systems of the hospital, he pointed out every measure to be taken. He referred to the importance of responsibly building three hospitals of different scales including this project being carried out this year as model ones for the overall development of public health of the country.

In the course of this, optimal schemes for designing regional hospitals of different categories will be confirmed and on the basis of it, the future plans for building up the overall public health facilities will be drawn up in greater detail on the principle of ensuring economic efficiency and practicality, he noted.

He said that the construction of a hospital is an ensemble of the latest medical technology and building techniques and what is as important as the construction is the medical equipment and medical forces. Strengthening of the medical forces should be regarded as the main link in the implementation of the public health policy and the main work that should be pushed ahead with on a medium- and long-term basis, he said, repeatedly stressing the importance of the task of improving the specialist qualifications of the regional public health workers in particular and training medical workers in a systematic, scientific and future-oriented way. Then he clarified the orientation and ways to this end.

Saying that the pharmaceutical industry of the country should be radically boosted in order to supply enough medicines to hospitals to be built in all cities and counties across the country, he stressed the need to thoroughly examine the state system of supplying medicines and take reinforcement measures.

He put forth various tasks for making preparations for operating the hospital.

Then he visited the construction site of the Kangdong County Leisure Complex.

He learned in detail about the construction from the commanding officer of the unit.

He said that it is most important to firmly prepare construction workforce before anything else in carrying out the Party’s policy on regional development without an inch of deflection, particularly stressing that all the construction regiments should have a vital stake in strengthening the ranks of skilled workers and push ahead with their training according to scientific goals and plans.

Referring to the issues arising in training competent design and construction forces throughout the country, standardizing and enshrining in law the advanced construction methods and achieving rapid development of the building-materials industry, he set forth important tasks for implementing them.

Expressing militant tribute to the lofty ideological and spiritual world and patriotic devotion of the soldier-builders who are struggling with a single mind for completing the construction of the hospital, leisure complex and regional-industry factories in Kangdong County on the highest level, he expressed expectation and belief that they would achieve excellent successes in the construction projects by upholding the Party’s sincerity for the wellbeing of the people with heroic and resourceful labour struggle.

Encouraged by his field guidance, all the soldier-builders hardened their determination to perfectly build the new assets for prosperity and model entities of civilization and rejuvenation for the regional people in this significant year, mindful of the trust of the Party Central Committee which put them forward at the outpost of the sacred struggle for regional development.

Eighth Enlarged Meeting of Eighth WPK Central Military Commission Held

Pyongyang, May 30 (KCNA) -- The Eighth Enlarged Meeting of the Eighth Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea was held at the headquarters building of the WPK Central Committee on May 28.

Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, guided the meeting.

Present there were members of the WPK Central Military Commission and, as observers, leading commanding officers of the Ministry of National Defence, military and political commanding officers of the large combined units at all levels of the Korean People's Army and officials of relevant departments of the WPK Central Committee.

The meeting discussed the important issues of exercising tight control and guidance so that all military and political activities of the DPRK armed forces are thoroughly conducted as required by the Party's military line and policies by further strengthening the functions and roles of the political organs at all levels in the armed forces organs in keeping with the new stage of the developing revolution and of establishing more firmly the revolutionary command system and steel-like discipline system.

Saying that only when the roles of the Party organizations and political organs at all levels which perform the functions of the helm in realizing the guidance of the Party Central Committee over the army are steadily enhanced, can all the problems arising in the army building and military activities be successfully solved, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un set forth the important principles to be consistently maintained by the Party committees at all levels in the army in implementing the Party's military line and policies in conformity with their mission and duty as the political general staff and supreme leadership organ of the relevant units and all tasks facing them.

The organizational matter was discussed at the meeting.

The WPK Central Military Commission appointed six commanding officers of corps-level units, the director of the Artillery Bureau and the director of the Security Bureau and dispatched some political commissars.

The meeting discussed the issue of powerfully pushing ahead with major construction projects of political and military significance and gave relevant assignments.

On the basis of an analysis of the situation related to the national security, it discussed and decided on military measures for firmly maintaining the strategic and tactical superiority in all aspects.

It also approved and assigned a series of new construction projects in the fields of defence science and industry.

The meeting made an important conclusion on the enhancement of the national defence capabilities and the orientation and immediate tasks for the military and political activities of the armed forces of the DPRK.
