February 27 (KCNA) -- Marshal Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers'
Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK
and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, had a photo session with the
scientists, technicians, workers, soldier-builders and officials who
contributed to the successful third underground nuclear test.
Kim Jong Un appeared in front of the building of the WPK Central Committee.
He highly praised those who successfully conducted the underground nuclear test as part of the practical countermeasure to defend the security and sovereignty of the country, thus fully demonstrating once again that Korea does what it is determined to do and instilling faith in sure victory and optimism into the army and people of the DPRK.
He had a photo taken with them, expressing expectation and conviction that they would achieve greater successes in their scientific researches to further bolster up the nuclear deterrent for self-defence by waging a dynamic drive for breaking through cutting-edge science and technology with the same vim and vigor with which they succeeded in the nuclear test.

Panmunjom Mission Sends Telephone Message to U.S. Forces Commander in S. Korea

February 23 (KCNA) -- The U.S. imperialists are escalating dangerous military
pressure on the DPRK, having confabs for slapping brigandish new "sanctions"
against it over its satellite launch, its legitimate and independent right, and
underground nuclear test for self-defence to protect it.
They are mulling kicking off Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises targeted against the DPRK again on March 1 in a bid to bring dark clouds of a war of aggression to hang over Korea despite the strong protest and denunciation at home and abroad. They are employing such sleight of hand as "notifying" the DPRK side of this "in advance".
A touch-and-go situation is prevailing on the Korean Peninsula due to the hostile acts and military racket of the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces and their followers against the DPRK.
Pak Rim Su, chief of the Panmunjom Mission of the Korean People's Army, sent the following message to James D. Sherman, commander of the U.S. forces in south Korea, in this regard at 9 a.m. Saturday:
As you know, a grave situation where a war may break out any moment prevails in Korea due to the brigandish moves of the U.S. and its allied forces to isolate and stifle the DPRK, taking issue with its just satellite launch and underground nuclear test for protecting its sovereignty.
If your side ignites a war of aggression by staging the reckless joint military exercises Key Resolve and Foal Eagle again under the cover of "defensive and annual ones" at this dangerous time, from that moment your fate will be hung by a thread with every hour.
You had better bear in mind that those igniting a war are destined to meet a miserable destruction while a great victory is in store for the guardians of justice.

Nanhutou Meeting,
Watershed in Anti-Japanese Armed Struggle

February 26 (KCNA) -- It has been 77 years after President Kim Il Sung convened
the historic Nanhutou meeting in the period of the anti-Japanese armed
struggle.
At that time, the Japanese imperialists intensified harsh crackdown upon the Korean people as never before, in preparation for aggression on mainland China.
Under the situation, Kim Il Sung hardened his decision to advance the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA) into the homeland to show the Korean people that Korea is alive.
To this end, he called a meeting of KPRA military and political cadres in Nanhutou, China's Ningan County, on Feb. 27, Juche 25 (1936).
At the meeting, he reviewed the military and political activities conducted by the KPRA in areas along the River Tuman in the first half of the 1930s and set forth new strategic policies on the basis of scientific analysis of the prevailing situation and the requirement of the developing revolution.
The policies involved the issues of advancing the main KPRA forces into the border area adjacent to Korea as well as the area of Mt. Paektu for anti-Japanese armed struggle in the homeland, expanding the movement for anti-Japanese national united front on a nationwide scale and stepping up preparations for founding a party.
The policies enjoyed full support at the meeting.

Basketball Game of DPRK, American Players

February 28 (KCNA) -- A mixed basketball game of the visiting American
basketball players of Harlem Globetrotters and Korean players belonging to the
Hwaebul basketball team of Korean University of Physical Education took place
at Ryugyong Jong Ju Yong Gymnasium on Thursday. Among the American players was
ex-player of NBA Dennis Rodman.
Sports fans and other Pyongyang citizens packed the gymnasium to watch the game with great interest.
Among the audience were foreign diplomatic envoys, representatives of international bodies, military attaches and other foreign guests here with their families.
The dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, together with his wife Ri Sol Ju, came to the gymnasium to watch the game.
The players and audience broke into thunderous cheers, greatly excited to see the game together with Kim Jong Un.
Dennis Rodman went up to the auditorium to bow to Kim Jong Un.
Warmly welcoming him, Kim Jong Un let him sit next to him.
Brett Dennis Meister and Jeffrey Raymond Munn also sat near him.
American basketball players first played a demonstration game amid great attention of the audience.
They showed a variety of special basketball skills to be highly acclaimed.

The white team combined man-to-man defence and fast break. The game ended in a draw 110:110.
