KIM JONG UN GUIDES
SHOOTING CONTEST OF PARTICIPANTS IN KPA MEETING
Pyongyang,
October 29 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un,
first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the
National Defence Commission of the DPRK, guided the shooting contest of the
participants in the 4th meeting of the company commanders and political
instructors of the KPA.
Acknowledging
the enthusiastic cheers of all participants, he said he was very pleased to
meet again the company commanders and political instructors whom he wished to
see every day.
Noting
that the KPA is holding the shooting contest unprecedented in the history of
army building with all company commanders and political instructors of the
whole army attending, he referred to the objective of the contest.
Servicepersons
cannot satisfactorily fulfill their combat duties when they are not good at
shooting even if they are prepared well politico-ideologically and physically,
he said, adding that only when company commanders and political instructors
become good marksmen, can they train their soldiers to be crack shots never
missing targets.
He
noted this shooting contest was organized to make the torch of the movement for
becoming crack shots and master gunners rage more furiously in the whole army.
The
contest was participated in by company commanders and political instructors
selected from the participants of the KPA meeting. It was held by the method of
deciding on standing of services of the army, army corps level and that of
individuals according to the points they gained by hitting targets in the given
distance and within the given time.
The
contesters demonstrated their marksmanship they cultivated in their day-to-day
trainings.
Kim
Jong Un clapped his hands, his face beaming with a broad smile, whenever the
contesters got high points by accurately hitting targets.
At
the shooting contest KPA Unit 233 and KPA Unit 604 won the first place and the
KPA Navy, KPA Unit 287 and KPA Unit 318 placed second and KPA Unit 549 and KPA
Unit 569 came third.
In
the individual event Ri Yong Chol, company political instructor under KPA Unit
380, company political instructor Kang Un Chol and company commander Pak In Suk
under KPA Unit 604 came first, Ri Sang Chol, company commander under KPA Unit
488, placed second and Jon Yong Gol, company political instructor under KPA
Unit 313, Ri Kwang Hyok, company commander under KPA Unit 233, Sung Myong Sim,
company commander under KPA Unit 549, Kim Kwang Hyon, company commander under
KPA Unit 593, and Han Ok Ju, company commander under KPA Unit 287, placed third.
A
prize awarding ceremony took place at the end of the contest.
Kim
Jong Un said that this shooting contest offered the company commanders and
political instructors an opportunity to keenly realize that only when they
become crack shots themselves, can they train all soldiers to be crack shots
and master gunners, indicating tasks to be carried out to intensify shooting
drills and ways to do so.
Among
the spectators were KPA Vice Marshal Choe Ryong Hae, director of the General
Political Bureau of the KPA, KPA General Ri Yong Gil, chief of the General
Staff of the KPA, KPA General Jang Jong Nam, minister of the People's Armed
Forces, and other commanding officers of armed forces organs and company
commanders and political instructors who participated in the 4th meeting of KPA
company commanders and political instructors.
FOREIGN MINISTRY
SPOKESMAN BLASTS U.S. STATE SECRETARY’S INVECTIVES AGAINST DPRK
Pyongyang,
October 31-The spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK gave the
following answer to a question raised by KCNA Thursday as regards a coarse
remark made by U.S. State Secretary Kerry against the DPRK:
On
October 28, Kerry, far from reflecting of the U.S. crime of persistently
standing in the way of resuming the six-party talks, called the DPRK a “rogue
state”, a serious politically-motivated provocation reminding one of a thief
crying “strop the thief!”
The
U.S. diplomatic chief insulted the DPRK, a dignified independent and sovereign
state, fully revealing again the U.S. deep-running hostility toward the DPRK.
Washington
is inflaming bitterness toward the DPRK even by putting forward the State
secretary and other diplomatic authorities while steadily escalating military
threats to the DPRK. This shows that the U.S. has no intent to hold dialogue
with the DPRK.
The
U.S. set brigandish demands unacceptable to the DPRK as preconditions for the
six-party talks, a crafty trick to check the resumption of the talks and evade
the responsibility.
The
true aim sought by the U.S. is to leave the nuclear issue on the Korean
Peninsula unresolved and use it as a pretext for arms buildup pursuant to its
return to the new Asia-Pacific strategy.
Consistent
is the stand of the DPRK to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula but as the DPRK
is exposed to the constant unclear threat of the U.S. and the U.S. gets
ever-more undisguised in its hostile moves against the DPRK, while reneging on
its commitments, the DPRK will be left with no other option but to bolster its
nuclear deterrence, unbound to anything.
As
the DPRK has consistently insisted, the denuclearization of the Korean
Peninsula will be impossible unless the U.S. rolls back its hostile policy
toward the DPRK.
Unless
Washington proves in action its intent to withdraw the hostile policy, a root
cause of the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula, the DPRK will never
unilaterally move first for the resumption of the talks.
In
case the old U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK leads to the escalation of
tension, the U.S. will be held entirely accountable for it.
