National Defence Commission of the DPRK, watched the performance given by the

STABILITY OF KOREAN
SOCIETY
The
Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is advancing straight along the road of
socialism without experiencing any sort of socio-political instability even in
the trying ordeals of history. It is enjoying absolute support of its people
and maintaining firm stability of a high degree, quite different from the
propaganda of some Western media.
The
primary key to it lies in the guiding ideology of the DPRK.
Thanks
to its guiding ideology, the Juche idea which is a world outlook that centres
on man, people are masters of everything and everything serves them in the
DPRK.
Its
sovereignty resides in the workers, peasants, intellectuals and all other
working people. 10.9 per cent of the deputies elected to the 12th Supreme
People’s Assembly (Parliament) of the DPRK are workers, 10.1 per cent peasants,
15.6 per cent women and 90.4 per cent academic degree or title holders,
scientists, technicians and specialists. These figures clearly show that it is
natural that the state power in the hands of the working people is exercised to
realize their demands and interests.
The
means of production are also in the hands of the working people. In this
country they are owned by the state or social, cooperative organizations, in
other words, by its people. All the property of the state serves the people and
the whole courses from production to distribution are organized and conducted
in accord with the demands and interests of the entire people. Therefore, there
never exist the exploitation and oppression of man by man and such a serious
social problem as “the rich get ever richer and the poor get ever poorer.”
It
is axiomatic that the Korean society guided by the Juche idea, the
people-centred one, retains the political stability of the highest degree,
enjoying the absolute support of its masses.
The
next key should be found in single-minded unity of the Korean society.
In
the DPRK the leader and the entire people form an integral whole united by the
common destiny.
In
the centre of this firm unity is Kim Jong Un, the leader of the DPRK, who is
always among his people and dedicating himself to their well-being.
President
of a Mongolian pharmaceutical company admired that the DPRK maintained its
political stability to the highest level in the world. He continued to say:
when peace in Korea and the rest of Asia was exposed to threat, leader Kim Jong
Un of the DPRK went to one of the hottest spots on board a small wooden boat.
There he took important measures to defend peace, cuddling a child in his arms.
On returning, he visited the sites of construction projects designed for his
people’s well-being. The invincible unity of the leader, the personification of
the love for human, and the people is the most convincing guarantee for the
maximum political stability and eternal peace.
In
the DPRK where a great harmonious family is formed closely rallied behind the
leader a climate of helping and leading each other forward based on the
principle of “one for all and all for one,” is prevailing throughout the
society, that is, the interests of the collective are always placed above
individual ones.
It
is certain that thanks to its unique single-minded unity the DPRK guarantees
perfect solidity and stability of its social system even in the unprecedented
hardships and trials owing to the stifling manoeuvres of the US-led imperialist
allied forces.
The
third key to secret is the people-oriented policies being enforced in the DPRK.
The
people of the DPRK, from the birth, are fully entitled to the stable life
provided by the state, and the state is responsible for guaranteeing it. All
the members of the Korean society are provided with all rights as social
beings, including work and relaxation, free education and free medical
care.
The
DPRK abolished its taxation system once and for all 40 years ago.
It
is also enforcing a universal 12-year compulsory education, the highest level
in the world. The state provides education to everybody free of charge and even
grants stipend to students of universities and colleges.
Everybody
has no worry about medical care treatment, because they are, irrespective of
sex, age, residence, occupation, property and others, entitled to free medical
care system in the DPRK. The medical care system in this country is perfect and
thoroughgoing in that people receive all kinds of medical service free of
charge.
The
labour law of the DPRK stipulates that unemployment disappears forever in the
country. In fact, not a single unemployed person can be found. All able-bodied
citizens may choose occupations in accordance with their wishes and skills, and
the state provides them with stable jobs.
The
state regards the housing construction as an important undertaking to fully
provide the people with cultured and stable living conditions, and thus is
paying close attention to it. Dwelling houses are built at state expense and
given to the people free of charge—quite beyond belief.
The
Korean people love and value their social system so dearly that they are firm
in faith and will to lay down their own life unhesitatingly in its defence.
KOREAN WOMEN OF TODAY
Women
in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea are granted high social status.
Following
are typical examples of their social standings.
WOMAN DEPUTY
Kim
Hwa Suk, chairwoman of Sadong District Cooperative Farm Management Committee in
Pyongyang , started her social life as a farmer
of the Rihyon Cooperative Farm, Sadong District in the suburbs of Pyongyang . She is a
deputy to the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK, that is a member of
parliament.
One
September day in 1977 when she was working as a youth work team leader at the
farm President Kim Il Sung visited it. He was satisfied with the young girl’s
laudable deed and gave detailed instructions on how to increase the grain
output.
As
instructed by the President she did a good farming every year to make a rich
harvest. Later she was promoted to chairwomanship of the management board of
the farm and elected a deputy to the Supreme People’s Assembly.
For
over 20 years she was reelected the deputy to the Supreme People’s Assembly for
five sessions and has been working at the current post since 1993.
She
was elected a representative for the Third Conference of the Workers’ Party of
Korea in 2010. She participated in the national meetings including the national
agricultural congress and took the floor, and also in other international
meetings as a women representative.
HERO MANAGERESS
Jang
Ok Son is a manageress of the Fruit Processing Factory in Hoechang County,
South Phyongan Province. Her factory is an ordinary one in the DPRK.
Originally,
her factory was staffed with some 20 employees, and most of them were women.
They were producing only a few items with several outdated machines in a small,
one-storey building.
Jang
Ok Son initiated a project of expanding the capacity of the factory and made positive
endeavour for its realization, thus increasing the production capacity six folds
in a short period and newly setting up a line of producing children’s
foodstuff. Entering the new century, she pushed forward with the projects to
further boost the production and put management activities on an informatics
and scientific footing. Now a small local factory has been completely face
lifted.
Jang
Ok Son was awarded high state decorations and citations including the Labour
Hero for having long discharged her duty with credit.
PEOPLE’S ATHLETE
Kim
Kum Ok was born into an ordinary worker’s family.
Since
her childhood, she was very fond of running. The state found out her little
talent and brought her up into a marathon runner. Feeling grateful to the
country, Kum Ok determined to glorify the motherland by winning gold medals.
She
made strenuous efforts with this determination and became winners in the Asian
Marathon Championships held in 2006 and 2008 respectively and other
international games.
She
won another gold medal in the 14th Asian Marathon Championships. Kim
Jong Un, leader of the DPRK, spoke highly of her for becoming Asian marathon
champion three times. The state conferred on her the title of People’s Athlete
for having won gold medals in several games of marathon that is an iconic
sport.
MOTHER HERO
RiPyongHui,
who lives in Wonsan, Kangwon Province which is situated on the east coast of
the DPRK, is a mother of ten children.
She
is a plain-looking but tough-minded woman. Whenever she is asked how she had as
many children as ten and if she had planned to do so from the beginning, she
answers: to be honest, I had no thought of having ten. But I realized that it
is an important matter relating to the future of the country to have and rear
children as many as I can. So I made up my mind to perform my duty as a woman
by giving birth to many children and bringing them up into able personnel of
the country.
Now,
three of her children are serving in the Korean People’s Army. She took part as
a delegate in the Fourth National Meeting of Mothers held in Pyongyang in
November 2012. She said in the meeting that she would do good things more for
the motherland that highly appreciates mothers and bestows on them love and
trust. She was conferred the title of Labour Hero for having reared many
children.
