U.S. PERIODICALLY
RENDERS SITUATION OF KOREAN PENINSULA STRAINED: KCNA COMMENTARY
Pyongyang,
April 4 (KCNA) -- The UN Security Council recently committed an act of
"denouncing" the DPRK's justifiable rocket launching drills at the
baton of the United States. This is an outrageous deed and a serious challenge
to the universal understanding of the international community since the UNSC,
which should regard impartiality as its principle of action, sided with the
U.S., an assailant who sued the victim. Anyone can easily discern the reversed
logic, if she or he approaches with unbiased view of the situation prevailing
on the Korean Peninsula. In fact, it is none other than the U.S. that has
cyclically and intentionally screwed up the situation of the Korean Peninsula.
Now the danger of war comes from the massive shipment of military hardware into
south Korea and the ceaseless nuclear war exercises there, the outcome of the
U.S. hostile policy towards the DPRK. As was known, an atmosphere of detente
had prevailed in the Korean Peninsula in recent months, thanks to the goodwill
steps taken by the DPRK for regional peace and stability and improved
north-south relations. But the U.S., displeased with such developments, kicked
off the Key Resolve and Foal Eagle joint military exercises with the south
Korean puppet forces after introducing its huge aggression troops and lethal
weapons into south Korea. Worse still, on March 27 they launched the Ssangryong
drill, mainly aimed to "occupy Pyongyang," with the largest-ever
forces since 1993 involved. So, it is quite natural for the DPRK's army to have
made full preparations under the prevailing grave situation as its mission is
to protect the security of the country and its people and defend peace. In
particular, the rocket launching of the DPRK was part of the regular
self-defensive military drills of its army to cope with the U.S. hostile policy
toward the DPRK that has persisted for decades century after century and its
intensified nuclear war games. The U.S. defends its joint military exercises in
other's land as "regular" while condemning the self-defensive drills
of the DPRK army in its land "provocative". Such gangster-like
assertion is not workable on anyone. The U.S. should not run amuck. If a
catastrophic event occurs on the Korean Peninsula, the U.S. will never flee
from the responsibility for it.
