Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of
Korea (WPK), chairman of the DPRK State Affairs Commission and supreme
commander of the Korean People's Army, gave field guidance to the newly-built
Pyongyang Bag Factory.
The Pyongyang Bag Factory, built in Thongil
Street of Pyongyang City, is a huge modern bag producer with a total floor
space of more than 10 590 square meters. It is capable of producing over 242
000 school bags and 60 000 ordinary bags a year.
Noting that it is the intention of the WPK to
provide the children and people with locally made good-quality and attractive
bags, he personally initiated the building of the factory, guided its layout
and solved problems arising in its construction one by one.
Respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un went
round the sample room, cutting shop, sewing shop, packing shop, sci-tech
knowledge dissemination room, combined control room, technical preparation
room, designing room and various other parts of the factory to learn in detail
about its construction and production.
Seeing varieties of school bags for boys and
girls of primary schools, junior and senior middle schools and universities on
display in the sample room, he was pleased that the factory has produced nice
bags of different shapes and colors meeting the tastes of children and students
with locally available cloth and subsidiary materials.
Noting that the factory has laser cutter and
all other necessary modern equipment and facilities made with indigenous
efforts and technology, at every production process including cutting, sewing,
printing, dyeing and finishing, he stressed it is a great success that more
than 95 percent of the machines operating at the factory are home-made.
The factory has a very important duty to
perform, he said, setting forth such tasks facing the factory as making
trademark peculiar, channeling great efforts into improving the quality of its
products to make them popular, improving the designing to increase the variety
of bags and make them diverse and multi-color, deepening researches into
realizing the standardization of bags suited to the physical features of users
at different ages, effectively operating the sci-tech knowledge dissemination
room and taking good care of equipment.
Recalling that it was his intention to make
sure a modern bag factory was successfully built in every province and
Pyongyang City took the lead in implementing the Party's policy, he highly
praised the Pyongyang City Committee of the WPK for correctly identifying the
problems to which it attaches importance and dynamically arousing the masses to
the drive for implementing its idea and policies.
Very high is enthusiasm of the officials and employees
of the factory who have launched their production campaign in the New Year, he
noted.
He had a photo session with them, expressing
belief that they would creditably perform their duties by devoting themselves
to the bag production in the spirit of making bags for their children.
Accompanying him were An Jong Su, department
director of the C.C., WPK, and Jo Yong Won and Rim Jun Gil, vice department
directors of the C.C., WPK.
