Construction of Township of Samjiyon County Completed

A ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Township of Samjiyon County was held with splendor on Dec. 2. Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, attended the ceremony.

The Township of Samjiyon County, the glorious land housing Paektusan Secret Camp where Chairman Kim Jong Il's birthplace is located, has turned into an example of a mountainous modern city under socialism, an epitome of modern civilization.

Thus, the steadfast faith and will of the Partyand people of the DPRK to add eternal luster to Kim Jong Il's immortal revolutionary history and exploits has been fully demonstrated and a revolutionary springboard for successfully implementing the Party's plan for local construction provided.

Amid a welcome music, Supreme Leader of the Party, state and armed forces Kim Jong Un came out to the ceremony.

Present at the ceremony were Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, first vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and vicechairman of the Central Committee of the WPK.

Premier Kim Jae Ryong, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and member of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, attended the ceremony.

Present there were O Su Yong, vice chairman of the Central Committee of the WPK, Tong Jong Ho, vice premier of the Cabinet, Ri Sang Won, chairman of the Ryanggang Provincial Committee of the WPK, Pak Hun, minister of Construction and Building-Materials Industry, Yang Myong Chol, chairman of the Samjiyon County Committee of the WPK, chairmen of provincial committees of the WPK, chairmen of the People's Committees, officials of ministries and national institutions, commanding officers and shock brigade members of the 216 Division, and officials, working people and schoolchildren in Ryanggang Province including Samjiyon County.

Also present there were Army General Pak Jong Chon, chief of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army, officials of the armed forces organs and soldier builders.

Choe Ryong Hae made a completion speech. He called for further sprucing up the native county of Chairman Kim Jong Il into the people's paradise best in the world and turning out in the general advance for expediting the building of a powerful socialist country in the revolutionary spirit of the single-minded unity and on the strength of the self-reliance under the leadership of Kim Jong Un．

Kim Jong Un cut the tape. Thunderous shouts of hurrah broke out along with the shooting-off of fireworks and release of balloons which beautifully decorated the sky above the township area in Samjiyon County. Then there was march-past of the builders of the 216 Division who performed miracles and exploits in building the Township of Samjiyon County.
