Kim Jong Un Guides Enlarged Meeting of CMC of WPK
Pyongyang, April 27 (KCNA) -- An enlarged meeting of
the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) was
held under the guidance of Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the WPK, chairman of
the CMC of the WPK, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the
DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army (KPA).
Present there were members of the CMC of the WPK,
executive members of the party committee of the KPA and commanding officers of
the services and corps-level units of the KPA.
The meeting discussed issues arising in further
developing the KPA into the powerful Paektusan revolutionary army faithful to
the party, the leader, the country and its people.
It discussed an organizational matter.
Kim Jong Un set forth important tasks for further
developing the KPA and ways to do so.
He said it is the requirements of the era and the
developing revolution and a basic guarantee for dynamically advancing the
Korean revolution to more firmly prepare the KPA politically and ideologically
and in military technology.
He stressed the need to enhance the function and
role of the political organs of the KPA if it is to preserve the proud history
and tradition of being the army of the party, win one victory after another in
the confrontation with the U.S. and creditably perform the mission as a shock
force and standard-bearer in building a thriving nation.
He noted that the KPA political organs should
conduct the political work in a fresh and dynamic manner to ensure that
military affairs are successfully carried out as intended by the party.
"It is necessary to focus the party political
work, in particular, on rounding off the combat readiness so that all the units
and sub-units may make training part of their life and a habit and rule in
hearty response to the training-first slogan of the party and thus a strong
wind of conducting intensive training just as the anti-Japanese guerrillas did
in Mt. Paektu should prevail in the whole army", he emphasized.
Kim Jong Un Guides Shelling Drill
Pyongyang, April 27 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of
the Korean People's Army (KPA) Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers'
Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the
DPRK, guided a shelling drill of a long-range artillery sub-unit tasked to hit
major targets in the southwestern waters on the occasion of the 82nd
anniversary of the heroic KPA.
He indicated the firing order and method and gave an
order to start the drill. Juche artillery pieces opened fire all at once.
He expressed great satisfaction, saying "All
the shells told. They accurately hit the targets."
He said the artillerymen could hit the targets even
under the unfavorable circumstances as they have undergone intensive training
under the simulated conditions of a real battle.
He was very pleased, noting the shelling drill
proved successful and the soldiers of the long-range artillery sub-unit fired
shells as if they were displaying fireworks to celebrate the army day.
"Marking the army day, I look back on the
glorious path covered by the KPA under the care of President Kim Il Sung and
leader Kim Jong Il", he said, adding: "Since the very day of its
founding the KPA has remained loyal to the party and the revolution and
protected the country and its people as firm as a rock, preserving the shining
tradition of the anti-Japanese war".
Recalling that the KPA has defended the precious
socialist system with arms, sharing the destiny with the party for the past
several decades, he stressed that it is the great honor and pride for the WPK
to have such revolutionary army.
He highly praised the artillerymen for their feats,
noting that all of them who have been trained as crackshots as intended by the
party have splendidly adorned the significant army day by hitting all the
targets in the shelling drill. He had a photo taken with them.
He was accompanied by Hwang Pyong So, Ri Yong Gil,
Jang Jong Nam and other members of the Central Military Commission of the WPK,
executive members of the party committee of the KPA and commanding officers of
the services and corps-level units of the KPA.
Kim Jong Un Guides Multiple-Rocket Launching Drill
Pyongyang, April 24 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of
the Korean People's Army (KPA) Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers'
Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the
DPRK, guided the multiple-rocket launching drill of women's sub-units under KPA
Unit 851.
He received a report about the firing plan and
deployment of sub-units.
"As I always emphasize, it is necessary to root
out formalism in training and thoroughly do away with a diagrammatic method and
stylish practice," he said, calling on the artillery persons, in
particular, to make it as a rule to conduct all exercises ranging from mobility
to deployment, aiming and firing under the simulated conditions of an actual
war to suit their combat duty.
After seeing the sub-units already deployed in the
firing range, he gave an order to suddenly move from their positions.
The women soldiers of the sub-units promptly moved
the heavy launchers and deployed them in the firing positions designated by the
supreme commander by fully displaying the combat capability they have
cultivated in their day-to-day training.
When the order was issued, the sub-units started
firing in the order and way indicated by him.
Watching the targets enveloped in flames, he said
with great satisfaction: "They are good at firing. All the targets have
been hit. Artillery women are admirable".
He highly appreciated the successful drill, saying
that the artillery women of the unit could hit the targets under such situation
as they have undergone intensive training in hearty response to the call of the
Party for waging a dynamic movement to become crack shots.
He had a photo taken with them.
He set forth important tasks to be fulfilled to
round off the preparations for artillery battles.
