THE WORLD SEES THE US
IN THIS WAY
The
United States styles itself as an “apostle of peace,” “human rights judge” and
“international police.”
But
the US as the world community sees is quite different.
“Most Dangerous Country”
A
reporter from New York Times exposed in one of his books that the United States
maneuvered during the previous 100 years a lot of plots against governments in
many countries of the world, including Hawaii, Nicaragua, Panama, Grenada,
Afghanistan and Iraq.
It
is well known that the United States, since its founding, has committed wars of
aggression and armed interventions without letup, wrecking peace of the world
and bringing untold misfortunes on humankind.
In
the last few years alone it waged wars of aggression against such countries in
the Middle East and North Africa as Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Libya, and
interfered in their domestic affairs, fomenting serious social disorder and
ruining economy in these countries.
On
the Korean peninsula in the East it is conducting recklessly nuclear war
manoeuvres against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, entailing a risk
of thermonuclear war unprecedented in human history.
For
this reason the international community dislikes the US, which always makes
mankind restless and even pays no heed to the existence of the planet.
According
to the data of public-opinion survey released in March 2013 by the American
Gallup office, the universal disapproval rate of the United States went up by
4% over 2009. The proportions of Pakistanis and Palestinians who expressed
negative views about the US rose to 79% and 77% respectively.
The
US is also losing favour with its allies.
It
has revealed the “pivot-to-Asia-Pacific” strategy and insisted on European
countries siding with it and sharing expenses in defence. However, the European
countries took frigid, hesitant, indifferent and discontented attitudes toward
the US proposal.
The
recent Snowden incident is now having a snowball effect on the allied
countries’ distrust of the US, which conducted acts of wiretapping across the
world, and, worse still, of the statesmen of its allies, including the German
Chancellor.
Even
the US citizens are opposed to the policy of imperialism and dominationism pursued by their own
country. In December 2013 the Pew Research Center published the survey result
that 80% of the Americans showed negative views about the excessive
interference of the US into international affairs.
According
to the Gallup survey of 70 000 people in 65 countries, many of them replied
that the United States is the “most dangerous country.”
“Most Detestable Country”
Recently
an American film that defiles Muhammad, the Prophet of the Islamic religion, as
a “fraud” and Islam as the “religion of malice” was screened in the United
States, and it offended the Islamic people. A church in Florida, the US, held a
mock court against the Quran as its defendant, declared it guilty and burnt it.
The
Human Rights Watch exposed that the GIs in Iraq held tens of thousands of
people in detention and deprived them of the elementary rights. They forced the
Iraqi detainees to undress and build human pyramids and set the dog on them.
American female investigators stripped the Iraqi male prisoners naked and
sexually assaulted them, while male investigators sexually abusing and raping
women prisoners, and, worse, committing outrages on them to have sexual
intercourse with animals.
Not
only the Islamic people but many people across the world are shaking their
heads in denial of the US. Anti-American sentiments are growing stronger in
many parts of the world, and the United States is becoming the major target of
attack. Many American soldiers and citizens in Iraq and Afghanistan are being
attacked by resistant forces. In Libya the US ambassador and several other
Americans were killed.
An
article carried in Newsweek pointed out that the US has so far brought to other
countries and regions of the world only destruction, disorder, misfortunes and
disasters, instead of peace and stability, and that is why the whole world dislikes
the US.
KIM JONG UN GIVES FIELD GUIDANCE TO NOVEMBER 2 FACTORY OF KPA
Pyongyang,
August 24 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army (KPA) Kim
Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and first
chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, gave field guidance to
the November 2 Factory of the KPA.
He
went round the newly built room dedicated to the history of the factory.
He
said that the room was arranged well, adding the factory has a long history.
Going
round the zeppole, bread and confectionery workshops and other places of the
factory, he learned in detail about the technical updating of production
processes and production there.
He
expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the officials and employees of
the factory put all production processes on an automatic and unmanned basis
ranging from preparation of foodstuff to production and packing of products to
carry out the tasks assigned by the party.
The
greatest achievement made by the factory is that it completed by its own
efforts and with indigenous technology the updating of technical processes even
those countries which claim developed in food industry dare not to do.
He
highly appreciated the feats the technicians of the factory and teachers and
researchers of Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering have performed by
most accurately implementing the line of the party on updating the production
processes in such a manner as to fully ensure the hygienic safety of foodstuff,
cut down manpower and drastically reduce production cost.
"The
scientific and technological achievements made by the factory prove that it is
possible to bring about world-startling miracle and innovations when high
technical goals are set as required by the era of the knowledge-based economy
and its employees are powerfully encouraged to hit them", he said,
instructing other foodstuff factories to earnestly learn from the experience
gained by it.
He
emphasized the need for the factory to work hard to attain a higher goal of
putting the production environment on a sterilized and dust-free basis, not
resting content with the successes already achieved.
He
repeatedly expressed his satisfaction, saying that he was pleased to look round
the factory and that it was the one to be proud of, it was impeccable in all
aspects, and it was the factory he liked to visit.
He
earnestly instructed the officials of the factory to increase the production of
varieties of tasty and nutritious foodstuff for soldiers in the future too.
He
was accompanied by KPA Vice Marshal Hwang Pyong So, director of the KPA General
Political Bureau, KPA Col. General So Hong Chan, first vice-minister of the
People's Armed Forces, and Han Kwang Sang, department director of the C.C., the
WPK.
SCIENTISTS STREETS IN PYONGYANG
Scientists’
streets have recently mushroomed in Pyongyang, the capital of the Democratic
People’s Republic of Korea.
Unha
Scientists Street
Built
in a spacious area in a suburb of Pyongyang, Unha Scientists Street consists of
21 multi-storeyed apartment buildings of over 1 000 flats, schools, hospital,
nurseries, kindergartens and other public establishments, 16 children’s and
other small parks and various public welfare service facilities.
A
green environment presented by good species of trees, beautiful flowers and
green turf surrounding wide roads and apartment buildings makes every one feel
the freshness of natural ecology.
Flats,
boasting of modern architectural beauty, are provided with all conditions for
scientific study. Living rooms are furnished with up-to-date furniture and
other household articles. Kitchens, toilets and other parts of the interior are
so designed as to provide scientific study.
These
luxurious flats have been provided to ordinary scientists and technicians
gratis.
Supreme
leader Kim Jong Un of the DPRK proposed building the street and guided the
construction project. Saying that there is nothing to spare for scientists and
technicians who are devoting themselves to building up the national power, promoting
economic construction and improving the people’s standard of living, he went
over its project plan and designing and went to the construction site several
times to take every possible measure for the construction.
The
construct project was implemented just seven months after its groundbreaking.
He
visited the residential district for scientists in September 2013 built on the
occasion of the 65th founding anniversary of the DPRK and named it
Unha Scientists Street.
WISONG SCIENTISTS STREET
Kim
Jong Un on a visit to the State Academy of Sciences in January 2014 said that a
lavish investment should be made to achieve successes in scientific research,
and unfolded his plan to have a modern street built for scientists in the
Unjong scientific district as Unha Scientists Street was built the previous
year. In the sense that the scientists and technicians of the country that had
manufactured and launched satellites would live there, the street should be
named Wisong (satellite) Scientists Street, he added.
Accordingly,
a gigantic project involving construction of tens of apartment buildings of
over a thousand flats, school, hospital, health complex and scientific research
bases is now under way.
Under
the close concern of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the government, their
framework construction and plastering of their exterior and interior have been
finished only a few months since the groundbreaking and the project is now
close to completion.
Mirae
Scientists Street
In
August 2013 Kim Jong Un planned a construction project for lecturers and
researchers at Kim Chaek University of Technology while looking round the
construction site of apartment buildings for educationists at Kim Il Sung
University in downtown Pyongyang. To this end, he gave detailed guidance to the
designing of the apartment buildings and took all necessary steps.
He
visited the construction site in mid-May 2014. Looking at the 46-storeyed, twin
apartment buildings on the bank of the picturesque Taedong River, he said that
as outer walls of the buildings are curve-shaped, they look like sailing boats
on the Taedong and that they are fancy structures of a peculiar style. He
stressed that nothing should be spared for educationists who are devoting their
life to the training of competent personnel for the country and that it is the
intention of the Workers’ Party of Korea to build more such apartment houses
for lecturers and researchers in future.
He
went on: 500 more flats for the university educationists and public service
facilities should be built on the bank of the Taedong River with those under
construction as axis. Then, a full street will be formed. It would be advisable
to name the new street Mirae (future) Scientists Street.
Under
his guidance, the street is making its magnificent appearance as a community of
structures of modern architectural beauty.
Scientists
streets built or under construction in Pyongyang give a glimpse into the
steadfast idea and line of attaching importance to science and technology of
Kim Jong Un, who is opening the gate of a thriving country with science and
technology as a propellant.
Encouraged
by his special love and trust, scientists and technicians in the DPRK are
redoubling their efforts to continuously present achievements of cutting-edge
science and technology.
