Pyongyang,
December 18 (KCNA) -- All the people in the DPRK greatly missing Chairman Kim
Jong Il, the venerable image of socialist Korea, look back upon his life with
the deepest reverence for him on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of his
demise.
The
first decade since his demise witnessed their sacred struggle for realizing his
desire for building a powerful nation under the wise guidance of the Party
Central Committee that opened up a new chapter of the leader's immortality.
During
the struggle they keenly realized the greatness of the revolutionary exploits
of the peerlessly great man for the country, the nation and humankind,
hardening their belief that the history of the tender-hearted leader will go on
forever.
Kim
Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and president
of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK),
visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun on December 17, the greatest national
memorial day.
Accompanying
him were Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the
Central Committee of the WPK, first vice president of the State Affairs
Commission of the DPRK and chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme
People's Assembly, Jo Yong Won, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau
and secretary for Organizational Affairs of the WPK Central Committee, Kim Tok
Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee
of the WPK, vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and
premier of the Cabinet, Pak Jong Chon, member of the Presidium of the Political
Bureau and secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, and other senior
officials of the Party and the government and leading officials of the
ministries and national institutions. Leading officials of the armed forces
organs were present there.
The
palace, where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, the eternal
leaders of the dignified Party, state and people of the DPRK and the great
sages of the revolution, lie in state, was wrapped in the most solemn
atmosphere. Placed at the statues of the President and the Chairman was a
floral basket on behalf of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un.
Laid
before the statue were floral baskets in the names of the WPK Central
Committee, the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, the Standing Committee of
the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK and the Cabinet of the DPRK. Kim Jong
Un, together with other visitors, made a deep bow before the statues of the
great leaders.
At
the hall, where Chairman Kim Jong Il lies in state, the General Secretary paid
homage to him as a token of his best wishes for immortality to the Chairman who
laid a solid foundation for eternal dignity and prosperity by dedicating all
his life to the sacred cause for the country and people under the uplifted red
flag of Juche.
Senior
officials of the Party and the government renewed their firm pledge to fulfill
the honorable mission and duty entrusted to them by the times and the
revolution in the ongoing grand struggle for powerfully propelling the
comprehensive development of socialist construction by increasing the strong
power with which they pioneered the era of our state-first principle under the
guidance of Kim Jong Un, cherishing deep in their hearts the beaming image of
the Chairman.
