Nigerians from all works of life thronged the embassy of the Democratic Peoples' Republic of Korea in downtown Abuja, Nigeria's, capital city and joined by embassy staff to mark this occasion. The well organized occasion was attended by members of the business community led by Chief Anyamele who also is also Chair of the Nigeria/DPR of Korea Friendship Association; Politicians led by former member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon Yilkes Bermines; Academics, led by the former Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Prof. Saddique Abba; other academics included Prof. Alhassan M. Muhammad, Prof. Abdullahi Yamm of Nasarawa State University Keffi, Nasarawa State, among others; Nigerian Union of Journalists, Students of University of Abuja, Nasarawa State University Keffi and those of the College of Education Zuba, F.C.T.; and invited members of the public.
The occasion commenced with the Embassador's opening speech and was followed by that of Prof. Abba and this was followed by a documentary on the life and times of the founding father of the DPR of Korea, H.E. President Kim Il SUNG.
