Pyongyang,
October 2 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Ministry of Nuclear Power Industry of
the DPRK released a following press statement on Monday:
An
anti-DPRK "resolution" was cooked up again at the 67th session of the
IAEA General Conference on September 29 as a result of conspiracy between the
U.S. and its followers.
We
vehemently denounce and reject the abnormal behavior of the IAEA, which has been
completely reduced to a reptile organization that serves the U.S. away from its
elementary mission as an international organization to maintain impartiality.
In
the early 1990s, the DPRK had already withdrawn openly and squarely from the
IAEA, for it had been hell-bent on hostile acts against the DPRK by openly
supporting the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK. Therefore, the IAEA has
neither qualifications nor justification to say this or that over the DPRK's
exercise of sovereignty.
Moreover,
following the promulgation of the law on the state nuclear force policy last
year, the principle of state activities concerning the building of the nuclear
force was stipulated in the Socialist Constitution, the supreme law of the
DPRK, at the recent 9th Session of the 14th Supreme People's Assembly. As a
result, the position of the DPRK as a nuclear weapons state has become
irreversible, and this is a stark reality that can never change no matter how
desperately anyone may deny.
Nevertheless,
the U.S. and its followers are still resorting to the fabrication of a
"resolution" full of hackneyed and far-fetched assertion by abusing
the name of an international organization.
Such
farce of the hostile forces is a revelation of their sinister intention to
cover up their criminal acts of seriously threatening the international nuclear
non-proliferation system and justify their hostile policy toward the DPRK by
outlawing the DPRK's legitimate nuclear activities.
What
should not be overlooked is that the director-general of the IAEA is taking the
lead in creating the atmosphere of pressurizing the DPRK, spreading a false
story about "imminent 7th nuclear test" in the DPRK.
It
is crystal-clear that such tireless "enthusiasm" of the
director-general is to flatter the U.S. and the West, not prompted by his
"strong sense of responsibility" for his job.
The
IAEA, led by the present director-general, has come under fire from the
international community for conniving at and encouraging the "AUKUS",
an outcome of conspiracy between the U.S. and the West for nuclear
proliferation, and Japan's discharge of nuclear-polluted water.
Taking
this opportunity, we clarify once again our principled stand to the
director-general who behaves like a U.S. State Department official, forgetful
of his duty as director of an international organization.
As
long as tyrannical nuclear weapons of the U.S. and imperialist aggression
forces exist on this land, the DPRK's position as a nuclear weapons state will
remain unchanged and the DPRK will never tolerate the hostile forces' acts of
infringing upon its sovereignty.
If
the IAEA wants to avoid international criticism as a paid trumpeter of the
U.S., it would be well advised to devote itself to tackling the difficulties
facing the international community such as the U.S. nuclear proliferation
through "AUKUS", Japan's discharge of nuclear-polluted water and the
U.S. expansion of nuclear test ground, instead of wasting time and energy for
such futile work as adopting anti-DPRK reports, cooking up
"resolutions" and keeping IAEA inspectors on standby.
