KIM JONG UN VISITS REMODELED SPORTING BULLET FACTORY, MEARI SHOOTING GALLERY

Pyongyang, February 12 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, went round the remodeled sporting bullet factory and Meari Shooting Gallery.

The first leg of his visit was the sporting bullet factory.

Looking round various places of the factory including its production processes and research institute, he learned in detail about the technical conditions of equipment, production and scientific researches there.

He noted the successful remodeling of the factory in a modern way requiring high science and technology in a short span of time is another proof of the validity and great vitality of the WPK's line on building self-supporting national economy.

Pleased that the interior and exterior of the factory have been built up very successfully to be impeccable as required by the design approved by the party, he expressed satisfaction at the factory which has become an icon factory to be proud of.

He highly praised the builders for successfully remodeling the factory in a short span of time. He acquainted himself with the quality of bullets at a newly built underground shooting gallery of the factory.

He said in order to improve the quality of sporting bullets it is necessary to direct primary efforts to scientific researches, robotize the production processes and steadily raise the technical skills of employees.

He underlined the need for the officials and employees of the factory to successfully manage the newly remodeled factory and keep the production going at a high rate with the pride and honor of working at the factory, a foundation for developing the defence sports.

The next leg of his visit was the Meari Shooting Gallery. Going round various places of the gallery which have been dramatically face-lifted, he learned about their management, operation and arrangements for service.

He said with a broad smile on his face that he felt as if he were at a hotel as the designing and construction of the gallery were ensured on a high level and its logo has also been designed in a peculiar manner.

He was pleased with service facilities including several modern shooting ranges, archery grounds, video-game facilities and restaurant successfully built as intended by the party. Instructing officials to start service in March after making full arrangements for operating it, he noted when the gallery is open, the visitors would be pleased very much.

Saying that it is an important work for thoroughly implementing the behests of leader Kim Jong Il for promoting the cultural and emotional life of the people to successfully manage and operate the gallery, he gave precious instructions for operating the gallery on a regular basis.

He was accompanied by General of the Internal Security Forces ChoePu Il, alternate member of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the WPK and minister of People's Security, and Ma Won Chun, vice department director of the C.C., the WPK.

 

KIM JONG UN VISITS KUMSUSAN PALACE OF SUN

Pyongyang, February 16 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun at 00:00, Sunday, the Day of the Shining Star.

He was accompanied by Choe Ryong Hae, Ri Yong Gil, Jang Jong Nam, Pyon In Son, So Hong Chan, Kim Su Gil, Ryom Chol Song and other commanding officers of the KPA.

Kim Jong Un entered the hall where the statues of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il are standing. Seen standing on both sides of the statues were flags of the WPK and the DPRK and army colors. The guard of honor of the Ground, Naval, Air and Anti-Air Forces of the KPA and the Worker-Peasant Red Guards lined up beside them.

The chief of the guard of honor made a salute to the statues.

A floral basket in the name of Kim Jong Un was placed before the statues.

Also laid before them was a floral basket in the name of the KPA.

KIM JONG UN HAS PHOTO SESSION WITH ACTIVE LEADING PERSONNEL OF WPRG

Pyongyang, February 15 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, had a photo session with participants in the meeting of active leading personnel of the Worker-Peasant Red Guards (WPRG).

When Kim Jong Un came to the venue of the photo session, all the participants enthusiastically welcomed him. He waved back to their cheers. He warmly encouraged them who are devoting themselves to the sacred struggle for defending the country and building an economic power, holding a rifle in one hand and a hammer, sickle or a writing brush in the other.

Saying the meeting marked an important occasion in glorifying President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il's Juche-based idea of building militia forces and the leadership exploits performed by them and in further strengthening the civilian defence forces, he congratulated them upon making the meeting successful before having a photo session with them.

He expressed expectation and belief that the participants in the meeting would thoroughly implement the behests of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and the WPK's policy on putting all the people under arms and fortifying the whole country and thus bring about a fresh revolutionary turn in bolstering up the combat capabilities of the WPRG.

NATIONAL MEETING HELD TO MARK KIM JONG IL'S BIRTH ANNIVERSARY

Pyongyang, February 15 (KCNA) -- A national meeting for celebrating the 72nd birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il took place here Saturday.

Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, took the platform.

Present at the meeting were Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju, Choe Ryong Hae and other senior party, state and army officials, the chairperson of a friendly party, officials of party, armed forces and power organs, public organizations, ministries and national institutions, service personnel of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, bereaved families of revolutionary martyrs, persons of merit, working people in Pyongyang, delegations of overseas compatriots, overseas Koreans and the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front.

Present there on invitation were diplomatic envoys and representatives of international bodies and military attaches here. Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, made a report.

The revolutionary career of Kim Jong Il was the life of a great revolutionary and peerless patriot as he dedicated his all to the victory of the revolution and rosy future of the country like a blazing flame.

He experienced all sorts of difficulties and trials in the sternest test of the times and explored an untrodden path of the revolution with his iron will and superhuman energy.

He was a brilliant thinker and theoretician and eternal teacher of the army and people of the DPRK as he provided ideological and theoretical treasure for ensuring the permanent victory of the country and the revolution with his rare wisdom and scientific insight.

He was a peerlessly brilliant commander and genius of creation and construction as he provided a powerful military groundwork and strong economic foundation for the prosperity of the country and happiness of its people.

He turned the DPRK into the world's military power and nuclear weapons state which no one dares provoke under the uplifted banner of Songun. This is the miracle unprecedented in the human history of politics and a great exploit in the nation's history to shine for all ages.

He was an outstanding statesman who provided a firm political guarantee for the victorious advance of the revolutionary cause of Juche and Songun.

It was the distinguished exploit performed by him that he settled most ideally and perfectly the issue of succession to the revolutionary cause, a pressing matter decisive of the destiny of the country and the revolution, as required by the desire of the people and the developing revolution.

He ushered in the June 15 era of reunification based on the idea of By Our Nation Itself by wisely leading all the fellow countrymen along the road of independent reunification and great national unity with immensely broad magnanimity, tolerance and noble patriotism.

He made an immortal contribution to strengthening the international position of the DPRK and increasing its influence, frustrating the war moves of the imperialists and defending peace in Asia and the rest of the world.

The reporter stressed that Kim Jong Il's idea and cause and eternal treasure of the revolution provided by him are being successfully carried forward by supreme leader Kim Jong Un.

He called for glorifying Kim Jong Il's revolutionary career and immortal exploits for all ages, holding him in high esteem as the eternal leader of the Korean revolution generation after generation, and keeping to the road of independence, Songun and socialism to the last which he covered all his life.

Remaining true to the idea of its foreign policy -- independence, peace and friendship -- the DPRK will boost the relations of friendship and cooperation with all the countries that respect its sovereignty and are friendly to it, and make positive efforts for global peace and security and common prosperity of mankind, he concluded.
