KIM JONG UN WATCHES NIGHT NAVAL FIRE STRIKE DRILL OF KPA

Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, watched night naval fire strike drill of navy warship sub-unit and ground artillery sub-units.

Involved in the drill were ground artillery sub-units under the KPA 10th Corps and various type combat warships of the East Sea Fleet of the KPA Navy.

Kim Jong Un was briefed on the real time sea monitoring and firepower command system device newly studied and developed by the KPA before mounting an observation post.

He heard the reports of the commander of the KPA 10th Corps and the commander of the East Sea Fleet of the KPA Navy on their determination to fulfill their duties to make night firepower strikes and issued an order to start the drill.

Naval bombardment was kicked off and various type ground artillery pieces including multiple rockets opened fire at the "enemy" warships intruding into the waters of the DPRK all of a sudden under the cover of pitch darkness and dense fog.

He was pleased to watch the artillery pieces and warships mercilessly hit the naval targets through rapid firing and volley of firing. He appreciated their high concentrated firing, adding shells seemed to have eyes.

He was satisfied with the successful night fire strike drill staged under the operational plan and intention of the supreme command.

The drill could prove successful thanks to the positive efforts made by the commanding officers of the KPA to bring about a turning phase in rounding off the combat preparations.

Noting that the KPA's study and development of the real-time naval monitoring and firepower commanding system are of weighty importance in staging trainings under the simulated conditions of an actual war and putting them on a scientific and modern basis, he said the KPA has settled military scientific and technological issues capable of putting all enemy moves under control and wiping out all of them in the territorial waters of the country.

He highly praised the officials and researchers of the unit managed by Nam In Bok for contributing to providing a firm military guarantee for successfully defending the territorial waters and conducting naval battles.

He set forth the tasks to be fulfilled which would serve as guidelines for taking the Juche-based military idea of Generalissimos, Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and their behests as the eternal guiding principles and carry out them to the letter and developing the KPA into elite revolutionary powerful army.
