A military
parade and a public procession of Pyongyang citizens celebrating the 105th
birth anniversary of President
Kim Il Sung
took place with splendor at Kim Il Sung Square Saturday.
Kim Jong Un,
chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs
Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army,
appeared in the tribune of honor of the square.
The tribune
of honor were taken by Kim Yong Nam, Hwang Pyong So, Pak Pong Ju and other
senior party, state and army officials, chairmen of the provincial party
committees, commanding officers of the Korean People's Army and others.
Reviewing
stands of the square were occupied by delegates to the celebrations of the
105th birth anniversary of the President, officials of party, armed forces and
power organs, working people's organizations, ministries and national
institutions, service personnel and merited people, congratulatory groups and
delegations of overseas Koreans and other overseas compatriots, the chief of
the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front,
foreign diplomatic envoys and representatives of international organizations
and their wives, members of the military attaches corps here and their wives,
staff members of foreign embassies here, and foreign guests.
The guard of
honor and military band of the KPA conducted a starting ceremony.
The flags of
the DPRK and the WPK were hoisted amid the playing of the National Anthem and
the song "Fly High, Our Party Flag".
The DPRK
minister of the People's Armed Forces informed the respected Supreme Leader of
the start of the military parade celebrating the 105th birth anniversary of Kim
Il Sung.
A 21-gun
salute boomed amid the playing of "Song of General Kim Il Sung" and
"Song of General Kim Jong Il."
Choe Ryong
Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central
Committee, vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and
vice-chairman of the C.C., WPK, made a congratulatory speech.
The speaker
upon authorization of Kim Jong Un extended thanks to all the party members,
service personnel and civilians who have successfully carried into practice the
pledges they made before the great leaders without an inch of deflection and
concession and with the firm conviction in the victory of the revolutionary
cause of Juche.
He called
upon all the party members, service personnel, youths and working people to
further accelerate a drive for creating the Mallima speed and thus build the
best country of the people, fully developed socialist power.
The U.S. is
creating the phase of a war while resorting to frantic nuclear war provocation
moves against the DPRK, the speaker said, stressing that if it makes reckless
provocation, the Korean revolutionary armed forces will immediately mount an
annihilating blow and answer an all-out war in kind and a nuclear war with
Korean-style nuclear strike.
Cars carrying
the flags bearing images of smiling President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong
Il entered the square, escorted by general and other officers of the KPA.
The guards of
honor of the KPA Ground, Naval, Air and Anti-Air Forces and the Worker-Peasant
Red Guards and all the participants in the military parade paid deep respects
to the flags.
As the
military parade began, the columns of marchers representing the periods of the
anti-Japanese armed struggle, the building of regular armed forces and the
Fatherland Liberation War passed the square.
Then, led by
a column of Seoul Guards 3rd Infantry Division, the columns of Seoul Kim Chaek
Guards 4th Infantry Division, Kang Gon Guards 2nd Infantry Division, Seoul Ryu
Kyong Su Guards 105th Tank Division, Guards 2nd Surface Ship Flotilla, Guards
56th Kim Ji Sang Heroic Pursuit Plane Regiment and other guards units entered
the square.
Marching past
the square following them were columns of the navy, air force and anti-air
force, strategic force, special operation force, the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th
corps and other combined units and columns of infantry divisions of the first
echelons of frontline corps including the 46th Infantry Division of the KPA.
They were
followed by the columns of Kim Il Sung Military University, Kim Il Sung
University of Politics, Kim Jong Il Military Postgraduate Institute, Kim Jong
Suk Naval University and those of military academies at all levels such as Kim
Chaek University of Air Force, Kang Kon Military Academy and O Jin U Artillery
Academy.
Columns of
Mangyongdae Revolutionary School, Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School and Nampho
Revolutionary School passed through the square.
Respected
Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un acknowledged the columns marching past shouting
cheers of "hurrah!"
The columns
of Worker-Peasant Red Guards and columns of the Young Red Guards in Pyongyang
and all provinces, and universities such as Kim Il Sung University and Kim
Chaek University of Technology followed.
Fighter
formation flew the sky above the square, making letters reading "105"
and setting off fireworks.
Columns of
tanks, armored vehicles, artillery pieces, rockets of services and strategic
force rolled past the square.
As the
military band proceeded, fighter formation left the five-color trail of a fan
shape, decorating the closing of the parade.
Then followed
a public procession of Pyongyang citizens.
After the
mass demonstration, Kim Jong Un walked to the balcony of the tribune of honor
to wave to the enthusiastically cheering crowds.
