A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK gave the following answer to the question raised by KCNA Friday as regards the fact that the foreign minister of Australia malignantly pulled up the DPRK:

The foreign minister of Australia in a recent radio program spouted a string of rubbish against the DPRK over its entirely just steps for self-defence, claiming that it seriously threatens regional and global peace and she supports the DPRK policy of the U.S. administration that all choices are on the table.

What she uttered can never be pardoned as it is an act against peace that patronizes and shields the U.S. extreme hostile policy toward the DPRK and nuclear threats and blackmail against it, the root cause of the grave situation prevailing on the Korean Peninsula, and encourages the U.S. to opt for reckless and risky military actions.

The present government of Australia is blindly and zealously toeing the U.S. line.

It is hard to expect good words from the foreign minister of such government. But if she is the foreign minister of a country, she should speak with elementary common sense about the essence of the situation.

It is entirely attributable to the nuclear threat escalated by the U.S. and its anachronistic policy hostile to the DPRK that the situation on the Korean Peninsula is inching close to the brink of war in an evil cycle of increasing tensions.

If Australia persists in following the U.S. moves to isolate and stifle the DPRK and remains a shock brigade of the U.S. master, this will be a suicidal act of coming within the range of the nuclear strike of the strategic force of the DPRK.

The Australian foreign minister had better think twice about the consequences to be entailed by her reckless tongue-lashing before flattering the U.S.

S. Korean Conservative Remnants' Moves for Confrontation Policy Denounced

The Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of the Country of the DPRK issued a white paper Friday to reveal the criminal nature of the "north policy" of traitor Park Geun Hye and catastrophic consequences that ensued, and the nature of the desperate moves of the puppet conservative remnants to carry forward the policy for confrontation with the DPRK to the next regime.

The white paper branded the south Korean puppet conservative regime's north policy as the hideous theory for confrontation between social systems, theory for war of aggression and theory of following outsiders.

The policy pursued by Park Geun Hye has been hideous confrontation policy against the nation and peace and reunification peppered with hostility toward the fellow countrymen, greed for invasion of the north and sycophantic treachery.

"Confidence-building process on Korean peninsula", theory of "maintaining principle" and theory of "great chance for reunification", etc. are theories for confrontation between social systems and sordid anti-reunification theories in distortion of the essence of the issue of the country's reunification.

The essence of the "north policy" put up by traitor Park is based on the hideous theory of war against the north aimed to invade the DPRK by force in line with the U.S.

Out of all the successive puppet rulers of south Korea, Park Geun Hye is the worst traitor as she has been hell-bent on sycophancy toward the U.S. and cooperation with outsiders to escalate confrontation with the fellow countrymen.

The white paper disclosed how the puppet conservative group's policy for confrontation with the fellow countrymen pushed the north-south relations into a catastrophe.

Park Geun Hye and the group of conservatives were not concerned about the improvement of the north-south relations, reunification and the destiny and future of the nation as they were obsessed by confrontational conscience.

During Park's office of four years, there has been no proper dialogue between the authorities of the north and the south, and hard-won contact and dialogue ended just in their first round. All the human and material exchanges between the north and the south have been stalled, and channel for communications blocked, pushing the north-south ties into the total stalemate in history.

The Kaesong Industrial Park, product of the June 15 joint declaration and the last lifeline of north-south relations, was shut down.

The traitor did not hesitate to push the north-south relations to extreme confrontation through unprecedented "human rights" racket.

U.S. Muscle-flexing Can Never Browbeat DPRK: Foreign Ministry Spokesman

A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK released the following statement on Friday:

The situation on the Korean Peninsula and in the region has reached an extremely dangerous phase due to the mad-cap nuclear war provocations of the U.S. to violate the sovereignty and vital rights of the DPRK at any cost.

Recently, the authorities of the Trump Administration are spouting a load of rubbish calling for browbeating the DPRK by force of arms every day. They are crying out for settling the issue with the help of someone, seeking to bring nuclear aircraft carrier strike groups one after another to the waters off the Korean Peninsula.

Such intimidation and blackmail can never frighten the DPRK.

The invincible revolutionary Paektusan army, closely following the maneuvers of the U.S., is waiting for an order only after rounding off its full preparedness to counter them immediately.

It is an unshakable will of the DPRK to go to the end if the U.S. wants to remain unchanged in its confrontational stance.

The army of the DPRK has already clarified that its heaviest counteractions include a sudden pre-emptive attack involving manoeuvres on the ground, in seas, under waters and in the air and various other methods and the Korean-style tough counter-actions will be promptly taken to cope with the provocations of any forms and levels from the U.S.

DPRK Will Not Rule out Any Option for Peace of Korean Peninsula and Region: KAPPC Spokesman

A spokesman for the Korea Asia-Pacific Peace Committee released a statement Friday in connection with the fact that the situation on the Korean peninsula is getting serious with each passing day due to the U.S. ferocious military threat and nuclear blackmail.

The Trump administration, which had been examining the package options for the last two months, finally began to show reckless moves after adopting it as its DPRK policy to make "supreme pressure and intervention", the statement said, adding:

After perpetrating sudden cruise missile attack on Syria, the U.S. described it as a "strong warning" to the DPRK and has introduced massive strategic assets into the Korean peninsula while crying out for independent military counteraction including "preemptive attack on the north".

U.S. Vice-President Pence during his recent visit to south Korea talked big to dare threaten the DPRK, saying that the DPRK should not misjudge the U.S. will, the era of "strategic patience" was over and there is an urge to complete the program for nuclear and ballistic missile development.

The conservative group of south Korea, including puppet acting president Hwang Kyo An, spouted bellicose rubbish that "they would take unbearable punitive measure in case the north makes additional provocation" and "they will make the north change its strategic calculation". They have gone desperate while talking about intensive large-scale joint exercises together with the U.S. nuclear carrier task force.

Military Parade, Public Procession Mark 105th Birth Anniversary of Kim Il Sung

A military parade and a public procession of Pyongyang citizens celebrating the 105th birth anniversary of President

Kim Il Sung took place with splendor at Kim Il Sung Square Saturday.

Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, appeared in the tribune of honor of the square.

The tribune of honor were taken by Kim Yong Nam, Hwang Pyong So, Pak Pong Ju and other senior party, state and army officials, chairmen of the provincial party committees, commanding officers of the Korean People's Army and others.

Reviewing stands of the square were occupied by delegates to the celebrations of the 105th birth anniversary of the President, officials of party, armed forces and power organs, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, service personnel and merited people, congratulatory groups and delegations of overseas Koreans and other overseas compatriots, the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front, foreign diplomatic envoys and representatives of international organizations and their wives, members of the military attaches corps here and their wives, staff members of foreign embassies here, and foreign guests.

Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army (KPA) Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and chairman of the DPRK State Affairs Commission, guided the "Dropping and Target-striking Contest of KPA Special Operation Units - 2017".

Taking part in the contest were combatants of the special operation battalion under the direct control of KPA Unit 525, the 4th taskforce of the 5th detached force of Unit 2625 of KPA Large Combined Unit 630, the 2nd taskforce of the 1st detached force of Unit 252 of the KPA Navy and the 1st taskforce of the 1st detached force of Unit 323 of the KPA Air and Anti-Aircraft Force and light transport and helicopter gunship regiments of the Air and Anti-Aircraft Force.

The Supreme Commander heard a report on the program of the contest and issued an order to start it at the observation post.

Light transport planes made zero feet flight in the sky above the drill ground and combatants dropped from them.

The Supreme Commander said with a broad smile on his face that the combatants were very good at dropping from the planes making zero feet flight. He was pleased that the commanding officers of those taskforces and pilots of the transport planes properly fixed the dropping place, the flight altitude and the dropping moment in a coordinated operation and that they seemed to have made a deep study of the reconnaissance data about the enemy targets.

Watching the brave combatants mercilessly blow up the enemy targets, he said with pleasure that the commanding officers made correct decisions, adding those combatants carrying out their duties independently and pro-actively were reminiscent of fierce tigers crossing the mountain ranges in the southern half.

After watching an automatic rifle live bullet firing of combatants of the special operation battalion under the direct control of KPA Unit 525, he said that the bullets seemed to have their eyes and they were crack shots never missing targets.

Kim Jong Un Visits Pyongyang Mushroom Farm

Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), chairman of the DPRK State Affairs Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, gave field guidance to the Pyongyang Mushroom Farm.

He personally initiated the building of the farm, chose the site of the farm on the outskirts of Pyongyang and not only dispatched competent designing and construction forces for its construction but took a benevolent measure for solving all problems arising in its construction.

Enjoying a bird's-eye view of the farm with a bright smile on his face, he said that production buildings and annexes built in the vast area look peculiar, neat and tidy. He was pleased with the environment of the farm where formative art was applied at a high level. He noted with pleasure that the farm has radically changed the appearance of the area.

Kim Il Sung's Feats for Korea's Reunification Lauded

On the occasion of the 105th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung, the Institute for Disarmament and Peace of the DPRK Foreign Ministry on Saturday announced a memorial report that summarizes his contributions to the creation of international environment favourable for Korea's reunification.

Referring to the fact that President Kim Il Sung had worked hard to strengthen the international support and solidarity with the DPRK's line of national reunification, the report said:

The great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung advanced the most fair and reasonable line and policies for national reunification and made energetic efforts to strengthen international support and solidarity with them.

The three charters for national reunification set forth by him are fair and reasonable ones that are acceptable and agreeable to anyone.

The three principles of independence, peace and great national unity for national reunification was set forth in the 1970s when the anti-imperialist independent forces were rapidly expanding in Asia and the rest of the world whereas the imperialist forces were significantly disintegrated and weakened.

The proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo (DFRK) that clarified full pictures of reunified state and ways for its realization reflects the universal truth and the world's hard reality that no one can deny.

Denying the other party's ideology and system and pursuing unification based on one side's ideology and system is tantamount to a declaration that they do not want reunification but war. The only peaceful way to unify different ideologies and systems is to realize the reunification by means of federation formula. In fact, one third of the world population live in various types of federal states. It is today's reality that different systems co-exist in a country.

The ten-point programme of great unity of the whole nation, which clarified the ultimate goal, ideological basis, principles and concrete ways for the great national unity also reflects the Korean nation's demand, interests and experience as well as aspirations and desire of the progressive mankind. The programme is run through with fair and persuasive articles that everybody can accept regardless of ideology, political view and system.

Comrade Kim Il Sung had conducted energetic external activities to strengthen international support and solidarity with the reunification line.

His energetic external activities and wise leadership aroused full support and sympathy with the DPRK's reunification proposals from heads of party, state and government and political and social personages of many countries.

The three principles of national reunification enjoyed unanimous support at the 28th UN General Assembly in 1973. The 4th and 5th summit meetings of non-aligned states in 1973 and 1976 adopted resolutions that fully supported the reunification policy of the DPRK government. In June 1977, the International Liaison Committee for Korea's Reunification and Peace was founded and international conferences were held successively in support of the Korean people's cause of reunification.

More than 1.6 billion people from 105 countries participated in the international signature campaign that took place from March 1981 to March 1982 in support of the DFRK founding proposal. Over 1.7 billion people from 150-odd countries took part in the signature campaign from April to October 1994 in support of the Ten-Point Programme of Great Unity of the Whole Nation.

Noting that President Kim Il Sung had striven to reject outsiders' interference and create peaceful environment for Korea's reunification, the report said:

Since the early days of the country's division, the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung set forth the policy of independent reunification free from foreign interference and wisely guided the external activities for putting an end to the U.S. military occupation of south Korea.

The DPRK government staged vigorous struggle to create international environment favorable for national reunification under his wise guidance. As a result, the 28th UN General Assembly in 1973 passed a resolution on dismantlement of the UN Commission on the Unification and Rehabilitation of Korea which had been misused as a tool for legalizing the sustained division of the Korean peninsula.

In March 1974 the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung saw to it that the 3rd Session of the 5th Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK sent a letter proposing the U.S. Congress to hold the DPRK-U.S. talks to discuss peace treaty and withdrawal of all foreign troops from Korea. He also led vigorously external activities to adopt a resolution in support of the proposal at the UN General Assembly.

At the 30th UN General Assembly in 1975, the DPRK's proposal for replacing the armistice with a durable peace and creating condition favorable for promotion of independent and peaceful reunification of Korea was adopted by an overwhelming majority, thus totally frustrating the U.S. attempts to legalize its military occupation of south Korea by separating the issue of dismantlement of the "UN Command" and the issue of withdrawal of U.S. troops from south Korea.

The report cited data to show that President Kim Il Sung had wisely led the work to reduce tension and ensure peace in the Korean Peninsula and create environment favourable for national reunification.

It also elaborated on the efforts made by leader Kim Jong Il and respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un to further glorify the exploits of President Kim Il Sung for national reunification.

It is the fixed will of Kim Jong Un to build a dignified, prosperous and powerful, reunified country on this land without fail, true to the noble, patriotic intension and wishes of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, the report said, adding:

Under his guidance, the great leaders' behests for national reunification will be implemented without fail.

U.S. Missile Attack on Syria Unpardonable: DPRK FM Spokesman

The Trump administration on April 7 mounted a massive missile attack on an air-force base of the Syrian government army under the pretext that it killed civilians by using chemical weapons.

A spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry in a statement on April 8 termed this an act of aggression on a sovereign state that can never be tolerated.

Through the recent U.S. military attack on Syria, the world clearly sees who is disturber and wrecker of peace, the statement said, adding:

The successive U.S. administrations have perpetrated strikes at those countries which do not have nukes only, styling themselves a superpower and the same is true of the Trump administration.

Some forces are loud-mouthed that the recent U.S. military attack on Syria is an action of "warning" to the DPRK, but the latter is not frightened at such threat.

What happened in Syria once again taught a bitter lesson that no one should have an illusion about the imperialists and one can defend oneself from the imperialist aggression only when one has one's strength.

Our tremendous military muscle with a nuclear force as its pivot serves as a treasured sword of justice for foiling the U.S. shameless high-handed and arbitrary practices and aggression moves and protecting the sovereignty of the country and the right of the nation to existence.

The reality today goes to prove that any aggression should be countered with force only and that the DPRK's choice is entirely just as it has bolstered up its nuclear force remarkably.

The DPRK will increase in every way its military capability for self-defence to cope with the U.S. evermore reckless moves for a war and will defend itself with its own force.

NIGERIANS MARK THE DAY OF THE SUN IN STYLE

Nigerians from all works of life thronged the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea converged at the embassy of the DPRK in Abuja to mark the Day of the Sun to honour the founder of the DPRK. The occasion was attended by members of DPRK/Nigeria Friendship Association, Nigerian National Committee on the Study of Juche Idea, progressive parties in Nigeria, the business community, the media, both print and electronic, diplomatic corps and representatives of diplomatic missions in Abuja.

In his opening speech, the National Chairman of the Nigerian National Committee on the Study of Juche Idea, Prof. Alhassan Mamman Muhammad gave an anecdote of the Eternal Leader, H.E. Comrade Kim Il Sung. The National Chairman of the DPRK/Nigeria Friendship Association and former Deputy Senate President, Dr. (Alhaji) Nasiru Ibrahim Mantu, chronicled the long standing diplomatic ties between the DPRK and Nigeria. He also praised the Eternal Leaders foresight in laying a solid foundation for the Korean nation. His address was delivered by a former member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Yilkes Berminas.

The representative of the progressive parties in Nigeria, comrade Damien Ogbonna, enumerated the Eternal Leader, H.E. Comrade Kim Il Sung successes during his lifetime. Thereafter, the representative of the Emir of Borgu also delivered His Royal Highness good will message.

ANECDOTES OF KIM IL SUNG'S LIFE

His Insistence on Visiting

On his way to the Mt. Paektu area from the Nanhutou meeting (a conference of military and political cadres of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army held in February 1936), Commander Kim Il Sung decided to drop in at the Mihunzhen secret camp in the primeval forests.

He came across the soldiers of the 1^st Company, 1^st Regiment of the Independent 1^st Division, and asked them to guide him there, but they balked at his request.

“No, you must not go there, General!” one shouted in alarm. “The whole of the Mihunzhen valley is typhoid-infested.”

“No one can tell how many people have died there,” another chimed in. “We cannot take you there. We cannot take that risk.”

Earlier in the guerrilla zones they had experienced outbreaks of the disease, which had taken a heavy toll of lives.

“Typhoid is a human disease,” explained the Commander. “So man will get it under control. Man will prevail over the epidemic, and not vice versa, eh?”

“Impossible!” protested the soldiers, digging their heels in the ground. “The disease sweeps away the strong and the weak alike. You know Company Commander Choe Hyon is a tough man, but he too has been sick in bed there for weeks.”

“Even that iron fighter?”

The Commander was caught unawares.

“Then I must go there at all costs.”

His tone was peremptory.

The men knew they could not talk him around, but they added that he might go there, but not to the typhoid ward.

Kim Il Sung arrived at the camp, and immediately headed for a cabin where some 50 typhoid cases were housed.

“Don’t come in! I beg you!” one shouted, scrambling out towards the door. He was Choe Hyon, now reduced to a skeleton.

Kim Il Sung came up to him and clasped his hands, which were being withdrawn beneath the blanket. Choe’s eyes were swimming with tears, and all the other cases were sobbing.

Later the wizened men recovered, supported by the warm love of Kim Il Sung, who was ready to cross even the threshold of death unhesitatingly just to save his comrades.
