Kim Jong Un Visits Cemetery of CPV Martyrs

 Pyongyang, October 22 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, visited the cemetery of the martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers (CPV) in Hoechang County, South Phyongan Province, and paid a high tribute to them on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the entry of the Chinese People's Volunteers into the Korean front.

Present there were Choe Ryong Hae, Ri Pyong Chol and Kim Tok Hun, members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, and Pak Jong Chon, Kim Jae Ryong, Ri Il Hwan and Kim Hyong Jun who are the members of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK.

Also present there were Foreign Minister Ri Son Gwon, Admiral Kim Myong Sik and Air Force General Kim Kwang Hyok, Ri Yong Chol, chairman of the Hoechang County Party Committee, and Kim In Chol, chairman of the Hoechang County People's Committee.

The guard of honor of the Korean People's Army (KPA) lined up at the Cemetery of the Martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers.

As Kim Jong Un arrived before the monument to the CPV martyrs with the officials of the Party, the government and the military, the national anthems of the two countries were solemnly played.

Amid the playing of the wreath-laying music, a floral basket in the name of the Supreme Leader of our Party, state and armed forces and floral baskets in the names of the Central Committee of the WPK, the Central Military Commission of the WPK, the DPRK State Affairs Commission, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, the Cabinet of the DPRK and the Korean People's Army were laid at the monument to the CPV martyrs.

Written on the ribbons of the floral baskets were letters "Martyrs of the Chinese People's Volunteers will Be Immortal".

Kim Jong Un paid a silent tribute in memory of the CPV martyrs.

Then, he visited the grave of Mao Anying in the cemetery.

A floral basket in the name of Kim Jong Un was placed before the grave of Mao Anying.

Written on the ribbon of the floral basket were letters "To Martyr Mao Anying!"

He paid a tribute to Mao Anying.

He made a round of the cemetery together with leading officials of the Party, state and armed forces.

He said with deep emotion that even though 70 years have passed since the excellent sons and daughters of the fraternal Chinese people made an entry into the sacred Fatherland Liberation War fought by the Korean people, the immortal exploits and heroic feats made by the CPV by sacrificially supporting us under the banner of resisting America and aiding Korea, safeguarding the home and defending the motherland despite the very difficult situation remain vividly in the memory of our people.

Saying that the entry of the CPV into the Korean front was a historic contribution to the great victory in the Fatherland Liberation War, he noted that the great victory won by the armies and peoples of the DPRK and China while linking their destiny as one and sharing weal and woe with each other is, indeed, of great significance no matter how much water may flow under the bridge.

Saying that every part of our country is closely associated with the red blood shed by the service personnel of the Chinese People's Volunteers who bravely fought in the sacred war against the imperialist aggressors, not being afraid of death, and dedicating their invaluable youth and lives to it, he stressed that our Party, government and people would never forget their noble soul and lofty self-sacrificing spirit forever.

The DPRK’s Strength

 Seeing the events held in celebration of the 75th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea enjoying the attention of the world, the international community was struck with admiration.

What was worth seeing were the columns of units of arms, services and corps, columns of tanks, self-propelled guns of various calibres and multiple-rocket launchers.

But what attracted the world’s attention more were the columns of the Strategic Force; the ICBMs and other state-of-the-art strategic weapons, being carried on various types of military vehicles, made the people feel again the strong military capability of the country.

It was not the only strength of the DPRK the world people felt. They were struck with wonder as they saw the people and service personnel who raised cheers in tears and shouted in chorus the slogan, "Let us defend Kim Jong Un at the cost of our lives" for their leader at the celebration events, the procession of young people who marched with torches in their hands brightening the sky over Pyongyang with the determination to follow only the WPK, and the magic-like, ever-changing scenes displayed by tens of thousands of students at the background of the grand mass gymnastics and artistic performance.

No one can see people−young and old, men and women−who worship their leader and support only one party so ardently. This single-hearted unity of the leader, the Party and the people is a “special weapon” of the DPRK, which no other country or no other party can imitate or invent.

By dint of this might, the WPK has achieved only victory and glory over the past 75 years. Undaunted by the manifold challenges and hardships, the Korean people are now advancing along the only road of building a powerful socialist country under the wise leadership of the WPK.

The world realized once again that no one can provoke the DPRK and nothing can check its advance.

Delight of the People

 The events held in Pyongyang in celebration of the 75th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea (October 10) drew the attention of the world mass media.

A majestic military parade, a celebration meeting and public procession and a torchlight procession of young people held on Kim Il Sung Square, a mass gymnastics and artistic performance held in the May Day Stadium on Rungna Island on the Taedong River, a fireworks display on the bank of the Taedong, artistic performances held in theatres, mass dances on squares, an illumination festival and a beer festival―Pyongyang was brimming over with delight.

What made the people so delightful?

First, it was the demonstration of their absolute support for and trusts in the WPK.

For the Korean people, the WPK is the most sacred being. From the first day of its founding, making selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people has been the mode of its existence. Regarding the working people as the most valuable beings in the world, giving absolute priority to their interests and convenience and doing everything for their good has been the starting point of all its policies and activities.

As the world witnessed recently, it was none other than the WPK that took care of the victims of terrible disasters caused by flooding and typhoon. Chairman Kim Jong Un of the WPK personally went to the disaster areas, warmly consoling the victims and taking all necessary measures for reconstruction. Sharing good times and bad with the victims in the areas, officials of the central and local Party organizations stood in the vanguard of the reconstruction projects, thus providing them with new and better houses and living environments.

Second, it was the people’s expression of their faith that the cause of the WPK is ever-victorious.

Over the past 75 years, the WPK has displayed its mettle as an invincible party without any vacillation and deviation on the road of accomplishing the socialist cause. It has advanced confidently and without reading others’ faces along the road of its choice upholding the line of independence in politics, self-sufficiency in the economy and self-reliance in national defence.

Despite the recent unprecedented hardships and trials caused by the world health crisis and catastrophic natural disasters, it invariably guarantees the development of the country and the improvement of the people’s living standards. The news that its Eighth Congress will be held soon (January, 2021) has furthered Korean people’s confidence in the victory of the cause of building a powerful socialist country and in their more brilliant future.

True Feelings Kim Jong Un Expressed

 “I thought over what I would say first at this moment, when we will be looking back upon every page of our Party’s 75-year history filled with glory, but my heartfelt, sincere word for our people is only one, thanks.”

This is a part of what Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea, said in his speech delivered at the military parade held in celebration of the 75^th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

His speech moved the Korean people and the whole world. In retrospect, this year the DPRK was faced with huge challenges and difficulties, like dealing with the anti-epidemic emergency and recovering from the catastrophic natural disasters, when everything was in short supply owing to the harsh sanctions by the hostile forces.

All of these hardships were undoubtedly a heavy burden and pain for every family and every citizen in the country. The Korean people, however, did not feel pessimism or vacillation. Rather they placed national affairs before their family ones, shared every difficulty experienced by the state with it, and firmly supported the guidance of their leader and the WPK with their sweats and sincere efforts.

As a result, the country witnessed unbelievable reality in which none of its population fell victim to the malignant virus, and houses better than the damaged ones were built in the areas stricken by natural disasters.

Kim Jong Un’s expression of this true feelings in the speech represented his heartfelt thanks to the people who have sincerely trusted in and followed their leader and firmly defended the WPK’s cause even in such hardships.

His speech also carries his steadfast will to put the dreams and ideals of the people into reality without fail.

The people’s dreams and ideals are just the same as his own. In the speech he expressed his intention to invariably administer and continuously expand the advantageous policies and measures, which are aimed at improving the people’s wellbeing and providing more benefits to them, and said that sharing destiny with the people in the face of severe trials and experiencing the united strength of our people till now, he had come to know well what the WPK should do in the future. He continued that the Eighth Congress of the WPK to be held in January 2021 will advance plans and detailed targets for doing it, stressing that the ideal of the people is great, and the day when it is realized will surely come.

Turning into a Land Eternally Free from War

 At 00:00 hours on October 10, a military parade in celebration of the 75^th anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party of Korea was held in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, attracting the attention of the world.

Some of the state-of-the-art weapon systems that passed Kim Il Sung Square in Pyongyang, the capital city, had not yet been made public. What is the mission of these marvelous weapon systems?

Chairman Kim Jong Un declared in his speech that the mission is to firmly defend socialism, the dignity and lifeline of the Korean people, and to make them enjoy the benefits of prosperity generation after generation on the land, eternally free from war.

It is well-known that DPRK is one of the hottest spots in the world. It is because the hostile forces are escalating military threats as well as economic sanctions in order to hold sway over this country by any means, paying attention to its geopolitical importance.

To cope with this, the country defined the military capability with which to overpower in advance the forces that may dare to threaten or infringe on the rights to independence and existence of the state and people as the most assured and strongest national defence capability.

The new cutting-edge weapon systems shown to the public during this parade clearly demonstrated that nobody can dare to infringe on this country.

Chairman Kim Jong Un stated in his speech that his country never wants that its military strength would aim at someone else. But, everyone should take into consideration the fact that he repeated the word if once more.

He declared: Our war deterrent, which is intended to defend the rights to independence and existence of our state and safeguard peace in the region, will never be abused or used as a means for preemptive strike. But, if, and if, any forces infringe upon the security of our state and attempt to have recourse to military force against us, I will enlist all our most powerful offensive strength in advance to punish them.

The military parade is a clear manifestation of the iron will of Chairman Kim Jong Un to make the Korean peninsula a land eternally free from war.

Demonstration of Unity and Faith

 

The events held in Pyongyang, the capital city of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, in celebration of the 75th founding anniversary of the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea, were beyond the imagination of the peoples of the world in their contents and scale.

The elite army units and state-of-the art weapons that went past Kim Il Sung Square were surprising, but all the more surprising were the orderly procession of hundreds of thousands of civilians and the torchlight procession of young people and their enthusiastic cheers.

There are many political parties in the world and they have their own supporters, but none of them celebrate their founding anniversary as enthusiastically as the DPRK does.

This gives a glimpse of the single-hearted unity of all the people around the WPK. The 75-year history of WPK has made the Korean people feel that its policies are all aimed at bringing welfare to them. The WPK has raised them as masters of their destiny, as masters of the state and society.

Universal free medical care and free compulsory education are in force, houses built at state expense are provided to the people free of charge, and other people-oriented policies are administered.

The WPK advanced the target of building the country into a powerful socialist one, translating the people’s dreams and ideals into reality. The celebration events demonstrated the people’s will to follow the WPK to the end of the earth.

All the victories and successes achieved by the DPRK over the past 75 years are fruition born of the WPK’s leadership.

Under its leadership the Korean people carried out the historic task of socialist industrialization in only 14 years.

In the harshest period of the end of the last century, they not only defended socialism but also laid down new economic foundations as demanded by the 21st century under the banner of Songun raised by the WPK, and launched into building theirs into a powerful socialist country.

In the course of braving manifold challenges of history, they have cherished the faith that they will always emerge victorious as long as they are led by the WPK. The international community has felt the unity and faith of the Korean people while seeing these celebration events, which no others can imitate or concoct.

Declaration of Kim Jong Un

 

The speech made by Chairman Kim Jong Un of the Workers’ Party of Korea made at the military parade held in celebration of its 75th founding anniversary is attracting the attention of the world.

It can be said that it has three meanings. First, it is the declaration that none of the Korean population has fallen victim to the malignant virus.

The achievements of Kim Jong Un, who defended the security of the people and the state amid the world health crisis will be recorded in history. But he said that the credit goes to the people.

All the people were moved when he said: I thank them for being healthy free from disease; the fact that we have defended all our people from the harmful epidemic disease sweeping the whole world can be said to be a natural duty and success of our Party; however, I am moved by this success, and as I see their healthy appearance, I can find no word other than thanks; today’s victory that is striking the world with admiration is a great victory achieved by our people themselves.

Second, it is the declaration that he will remain faithful to his people’s trust. In the speech, he noted: Our people have always believed and absolutely trusted me, and supported my choice and determination, whatever it is; such ardent and sincere trust and encouragement is the most valuable wealth for me, which cannot be bartered for any fame and millions of tons of gold, and inexhaustible strength which encourages me to have no fear and know no impossibility; I solemnly swear once again in this place that will live up to the people’s trust without fail even if my body is torn and crushed to pieces on the way of defending their great trust and that I will remain faithful to that trust.

Third, it is a solemn declaration that no other country can provoke the DPRK. It is reflected in these sentences: Our military capability is changing in the rate of its growth and in its quality and quantity in our own style and in accordance with our demands and our timetable; our war deterrent, which is intended to defend the rights to independence and existence of our state and safeguard peace in the region, will never be abused or used as a means for preemptive strike; but, if, and if, any forces infringe upon the security of our state and attempt to have recourse to military force against us, I will enlist all our most powerful offensive strength in advance to punish them.

The state-of-the-art strategic weapons displayed on the venue of the military parade clearly showed the weight of his declaration.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Inspects Rehabilitation Site in Komdok Area of South Hamgyong Province

 

Pyongyang, October 14 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, inspected the rehabilitation site in the Komdok area of South Hamgyong Province.

Accompanying the Supreme Leader of the Party, state and armed forces were Pak Jong Chon, Ri Il Hwan, Kim Yong Su, Jo Yong Won, Hyon Song Wol and Kim Myong Sik.

He, who arrived there by dangerous gorge railway restored temporarily, was greeted by excited commanding officers of the Korean People's Army (KPA).

He convened the 6th Enlarged Meeting of the 7th Central Military Commission of the WPK just one month ago to issue an order of the Party Central Military Commission to involve KPA units in the rehabilitation campaign in the Komdok area which suffered severe damage from typhoon and whose conditions were the worst. And he ardently called on the service personnel to make devoted efforts for our great people, for our great Party, and for our great state. In hearty response to his noble intention the soldier-builders turned out as one in the restoration campaign.

They waged a 24-7 campaign in the spirit of carrying out the Party's instructions unto death and of At a Go to fulfill over 60 percent of the total project of building more than 2 300 new dwellings in the Komdok area.

He said he could see the damage done to the area was more severe than he thought.

He highly appreciated the labor feats of the service personnel who completely removed the serious aftereffects and are pushing forward with the reconstruction project.

He was greatly satisfied with the service personnel's high spirit and the effective field political work that was conducted across the reconstruction site.

Looking round the reconstruction site, he highly praised service personnel for building dwellings to be of high quality and doing all parts of the construction with all sincerity.

Saying that the conscience and unassuming efforts of the service personnel devoted to the building of the dwelling houses will be appreciated and estimated by the householders, he stressed the need for the service personnel remaining boundlessly true to the Party and the people to put sincerity to every dwelling.

He also spoke highly of the KPA units and sub-units involved in the recovery campaign in Komdok area as they are building firm retaining concrete walls by road stretches and railway sections exposed to potential danger of landslides, and doing qualitative river improvement so that there would not be damage by future natural disasters.

He said that the service personnel were dispatched to the reconstruction sites in different parts of the country to carry out the holy missions given by the Party Central Committee and are performing miracles like legendary stories about heroes, adding that thanks to them the 75th anniversary of the founding of the glorious WPK could be celebrated successfully and the square of the celebrations could also be glorified more. And he expressed his thanks to all the soldier-builders for displaying gallantry in the reconstruction campaign.

He underlined the need for the whole party and for the whole society to establish the trait of encouraging the struggle of the service personnel taking the lead in the restoration campaign, to send letters inspiring them and to render political and ideological aid to them so as to keep the high spirit.

He learned about the supply of winter clothes for the service personnel and other supply service and underscored the need to take good care of them as it is getting cold, to provide living environments of meeting the anti-epidemic requirements and to create the conditions for timely curing the cases, if any.

He said he was so pleased to hear that the calamity-afflicted people could move into new houses by the end of this month, and stressed the need to take measures to supply food and daily necessities to those disaster-hit people and to take good care of them as they are living a hard life in public buildings and other people's houses.

He was so unhappy to see the single-storied houses squeezed in a haphazard way at the foot of a mountain slope on his way to the reconstruction site.

He said that there are still houses built more than half a century ago and that we did not know properly the life of the people living in so piteous environments and dwellings, although we thought of reconstructing houses for the disaster-stricken people. He continued that he feels not relieved as we can not build new houses for them this time.

He said that we have to seriously self-reproach ourselves for making the workers in Komdok live in such a backward living environment because we failed to pay due attention to the living of the people there, though we claimed that the workers of Komdok are like the elder brother of the country and that the Komdok area is the major artery of the national economy. He continued that if we shun such living conditions of the people in the local areas, our Party's popular policies will be just an empty talk and be just like taking credit to oneself, adding that he would feel remorseful if only thousands of houses that had been affected by flood are rebuilt.

He said that now new houses are built only when old ones are brought down by natural disasters, adding that local construction should not be done this way and, as he had said shortly ago, that the goal for the local construction should be set in a planned way and be carried out in a long-term way.

He unfolded a far-reaching plan and master plan to turn the Komdok area, the country's leading large-scale mineral production base, into the country's model mountainous city and a mining city next to Samjiyon City by doing away with the centuries-old backwardness in Taehung, Komdok and Ryongyang and by building modern dwelling houses suited to the requirement of the new century.

He said that the current construction for recovery from damage should be set as the first-stage project which must be completed during the 80-day campaign with all-out efforts, stressing his pledge to build 25 000 new dwelling houses in Komdok Mining Complex, Taehung Youth Hero Mine and Ryongyang Mine during the five-year plan which will be set forth in the 8th Congress of the Party as the second-stage project.

He gave detailed instructions regarding the direction of the construction in the Komdok area, pledging to take charge of the project himself and build, together with the People's Army, mine villages in the Komdok area into the world's best mining city, the world's No 1 mountainous gorge city to be envied by all the people.

He said that the People's Army would take full charge of building materials such as cement, steel and oil and build 5 000 dwelling houses each year from next year on an yearly basis, not reaching out for help to the national planning institutions which become very calculating, reel off complaints being caught in defeatism and make a great fuss when the target worthy of the political attention of the country is set.

He advanced the task for the designing field to work out the master plan for the construction of the Komdok area during the 80-day campaign period. He stressed the need to conduct field survey before the designing, to set the site properly so that there would be free from natural disasters and wouldn't be inconvenience in living, and to design the exterior and interior of the dwelling houses strictly based on the requirements of the people.

He suggested making harmonious combination of one-storey houses and several-storey, multi-storey and high-rise apartment buildings in the Komdok area, calling for breaking the old style of building clusters of single-storey houses in local counties and mountainous counties and for face-lifting the area so as to create another example, a revolution, in the local construction.

He stressed the need to do the good work of dredging beds of rivers and streams and embankment and put importance on forest and water conservation so that the area would not be affected by any floods and typhoons in the future.

He again made a decision to conduct huge task believing in the People's Army, he said, adding the grandiose ambition and ideal of our Party will instill fresh confidence and hope to the people all over the country and become a spark of the 80-day campaign for opening up the period of new surge and great turn in our revolution.

He said that the second hand of the clock of our revolution turns keeping pace with the footsteps of the People's Army and the speed of the latter is precisely the speed of the advance of our revolution, calling on the People's Army to dash forward keeping step with the attack speed of our Party which doesn't feel content in the work for the people and thus bring earlier the future of our country with nothing to desire more.

All the builders were full of strong will to creditably carry out the task for the construction for the recovery of the Komdok area and turn the area into the example of mining city which will bring about a great change in the era of the Workers' Party, and into the place of unprecedented and mythical miracle, in response to the do-or-die attack spirit of Kim Jong Un working heart and soul for the miraculous civilization which will soar from manifold disasters, the spirit which is tantamount to a bold pluck and decision that can be made and put into practice by our Marshal only.

The Supreme Leader ardently appealed to the units of the People's Army to make dedicated efforts for our great people, our great Party and our great state.

Supreme Leader KIM JONG UN delivers Speech at Military Parade

Dear comrades,

The founding anniversary of our glorious Party has come.

The night of great glory has come.

At last on this glorious night we are greeting the Party's founding anniversary of this year, which was beset with unprecedented difficulties; I don't know why, but this fact alone moves me too much.

Greeting the 75th founding anniversary of our great Party, I, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, extend heartfelt congratulations to all those who have glorified this October holiday with great honour and pride.

I extend warm thanks and congratulations to all our people.

On this night of the great holiday, the streets in the capital city and this square are so splendid and seethe with pleasure and pride, but we must not forget that this glorious moment of today is being defended by the many Party members, workers and service personnel of our revolutionary armed forces who are performing unassuming efforts and devotion across the country.

How many people have made devoted efforts overcoming harsh circumstances this year so as to bring about and defend this glorious moment of today!

How many challenges have we overcome to come as far as here!

In particular, our service personnel performed devotion on the anti-epidemic front and the front of removing the aftereffects of natural disasters which we had to face this year unexpectedly. No one would approach their patriotic and heroic devotion without shedding tears of gratitude.

They would say that defending their country, people and revolution is a task inherent to the People's Army, but the pains they have taken are too great.

They have undertaken to perform too many tasks and have taken too great pains.

This is why I feel deep regret for them, and I feel pain in my heart as they are not all here at this glorious night with us.

At this very moment, many of our service personnel are courageously striving on the anti-epidemic front and at the rehabilitation project sites far away from this glorious Kim Il Sung Square in defence of the security of the state and safety of the people.

Our army is performing its mission as a motive force of national defence with such credit in the face of unforeseen challenges posed by the epidemic and the forces of nature, as well as the military threats by the hostile forces.

I extend the highest tribute to their ardent loyal and filial devotion to our state and people and warm thanks to all the service personnel.

I also offer my militant encouragement and thanks to my most dependable combatants of the divisions of the WPK members from the capital city, our hardcore force. They are patriots who deserve to be present here, but they volunteered, after completing their tasks in rehabilitation projects, to other disaster areas instead of returning to Pyongyang where there are their dear homes.

My militant greetings and thanks go also to other working people across the country.

I hope that only happiness and joy will come to the families that have settled down in new villages and homes after getting rid of the aftereffects of the natural calamities, and to other families across the country.

I hope that our children's happy dreams will come true all the time.

Availing myself of this opportunity, I offer my heartfelt consolation to all those around the world who are still combating the disease caused by the malignant virus, and do pray from the bottom of my heart that health, happiness and laughter of all people would be guaranteed.

I also send this warm wish of mine to our dear fellow countrymen in the south, and hope that this health crisis would come to an end as early as possible and the day would come when the north and south take each other's hand again.

It was not so easy for us to come as far as here.

Although the 75-year-long history of our Party was fraught with difficulties, every day and every step was truly arduous and trying from the outset of this year in particular as unexpected grave challenges and obstacles cropped up.

We have come to this meaningful place with the pride and honour of having braved them all.

This gathering, which the world people would admire, demonstrates that we have overcome all the calamities that troubled us and blocked our way and that we have attained with success our justifiable fighting goals.

Dear comrades,

Today we are greeting the 75th founding anniversary of our Party on a grand scale.

No other country in the world would celebrate a party's founding anniversary as a happy holiday and grand auspicious event of all its people as our country does.

As I stand here tonight, which is emotive and delightful and brims over with the great joy of all our people, I am afraid that I don't know what to say first to them.

I thought over what I would say first at this moment, when we will be looking back upon every page of our Party's 75-year history filled with glory, but my heartfelt, sincere word for our people is only one, thanks.

First of all, I thank them for being healthy free from disease.

I wanted to say this without fail.

I thank them for their good health without any one of them having fallen victim to the malignant virus.

The fact that we have defended all our people from the harmful epidemic disease sweeping the whole world can be said to be a natural duty and success of our Party. However, I am moved by this success, and as I see their healthy appearance, I can find no word other than thanks.

Today's victory that is striking the world with admiration is a great victory achieved by our people themselves.

For our Party, the life of every one of our people is more precious than anything else, and their good health means the very existence of our Party, state and everything on this land.

In this world, however, there are too many unstable elements threatening and attempting to harm the priceless life of our people.

So, as a matter of fact, at the beginning of this year, I had big worries and fear owing to the onset of the world health crisis and unfavourable situations around us.

However, our people got rise to their feet with great perseverance in absolute support of and trust in the measures taken by the Party and the state, and not only safeguarded their destiny resolutely but also bravely overcame severe hardships and trials with animation.

But for such excellent people who worry, care and protect one another and but for the socialist society, in which these people live in cooperation with a high sense of patriotism and a high level of self-consciousness, we would not have prevented the horrible catastrophe.

As all our people turned out as one in the struggle for defending their state, themselves and their children, becoming the motive force of the anti-epidemic work of their own accord, the country's anti-epidemic sector which was backward and lacking in everything could be revitalized, and anti-epidemic stability which is inconceivable to others could be maintained.

It is very grateful and encouraging for me that everybody lives in a large harmonious family although life is not affluent yet and they are healthy without even one of them having fallen victim to the evil virus.

There are no grateful people in the world other than ours who truly understand the difficult situations facing the state and cope with them, regarding them as their household affairs.

On this planet at present, our country is the only one that is faced with huge challenges and difficulties, like dealing with the anti-epidemic emergency and recovering from the catastrophic natural disasters, when everything is in short supply owing to the harsh and prolonged sanctions.

All of these hardships are undoubtedly a heavy burden and pain for every family and every citizen in our country.

However, our people are grateful patriots who place national affairs before their family ones, share every difficulty experienced by the state with it, and firmly support their country with their sincere sweats and efforts.

That is why our Party braves all sorts of national hardships by believing in and relying on them, who always turn out as one if it unburdens itself of the situations of the country.

Our people have always been grateful to our Party, but it is none other than themselves who surely deserve a bow of gratitude.

Over the past 75 years our people have supported the Party single-heartedly and defended our sacred revolutionary cause by shedding sweat and even their blood unsparingly and unhesitatingly.

The secret of how our Party, which has followed the revolutionary road, most arduous and beset with trials, has adorned this bloody road with victory and glory is that our people have sincerely trusted and supported it and defended its cause.

No one can think about even a moment of our Party's glorious 75-year history without our great people, an omnipotent creator of history. They have always provided it with wisdom and resourcefulness as a wise mentor, infused it with inexhaustible strength and courage, defended it at the cost of their lives, supported it sincerely and turned its plans and lines into reality.

When it called on them to bring about a great upsurge, the great people responded to it with the mettle of Chollima; when it mapped out an operation for grand construction, they responded to it with the speed campaign; they thus translated the Party's decisions without fail going through fire and water.

As these great people have always been with our Party, it has always been firm and able to record miracles in the annals of this land whatever the adversity.

Seeing the images of our people who have won victory for the great October holiday overcoming all manner of hardships with boundless loyal and filial devotion, indomitable fighting spirit and sincere efforts, I feel with great pride the almighty strength with which they would follow and defend the Party for another 75 years, nay, 750 years and even 7 500 years.

Comrades,

Our people have placed trust, as high as sky and as deep as sea, on me, but I have failed to always live up to it satisfactorily. I am really sorry for that.

Although I am entrusted with the important responsibility to lead this country upholding the cause of the great Comrades Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il thanks to the trust of all the people, my efforts and sincerity have not been sufficient enough to rid our people of the difficulties in their life.

Our people, however, have always believed and absolutely trusted me, and supported my choice and determination, whatever it is.

Even if it may mean suffering more, our people's trust in me and our Party is always absolute and steadfast.

Such ardent and sincere trust and encouragement is the most valuable wealth for me, which cannot be bartered with any fame and millions of tons of gold, and inexhaustible strength which encourages me to have no fear and know no impossibility.

As I enjoy this greatest trust which no one in this world can ever expect, I have been able to confront without hesitation all manner of challenges remembering the mission and will to make selfless, devoted efforts for the good of the people, jump into do-or-die battles, which would lead even to a war, and uncompromisingly cope with the disasters unprecedented in history.

I will cherish it as the highest honour to have, serve and struggle for such excellent people.

I solemnly swear once again in this place that I will live up to the people's trust without fail even if my body is torn and crushed to pieces on the way of defending their great trust and that I will remain faithful to that trust.

Dear guests and other people across the country,

Thank you, indeed.

I extend my heartfelt thanks to you with humble reverence along with the hearts of Comrades Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

Comrades,

It is our Party's and my first and foremost mission and steadfast will to firmly defend our people, hold them in greater respect and make them lead a happy life envying nothing.

Our Party has already built up the strongest military capability of safeguarding peace, with which to firmly defend socialism, the dignity and lifeline of our people, and to make our people enjoy the benefits of prosperity generation after generation on this land, eternally free from war.

Today's ranks of military parade lined in gallant array will clearly show how the Workers' Party of Korea has trained its revolutionary army and how powerful the army's strength is.

As everyone will clearly see today, comparing it with the military parade held in this place in celebration of the 70th founding anniversary of the WPK only five years ago, the modernity of our military forces has remarkably improved and anyone can easily guess the speed of its development.

We have a powerful large contingent of faithful and competent personnel in the sector of defence science and technology and workers in the munitions industry, who are firmly equipped with their Party's revolutionary ideology and truly serve the interests of their revolution.

Our military capability has developed and changed to such an extent that no one can make little of and keep parallel with it.

We have built a deterrent with which we can satisfactorily control and manage any military threats that we are facing or may face.

Our military capability is changing in the rate of its growth and in its quality and quantity in our own style and in accordance with our demands and our timetable.

Our Party defined the military capability with which to overpower in advance the forces that may dare to threaten or infringe on the rights to independence and existence of our state and people as the most assured and strong national defence capability. And it has made every effort to possess military forces that can achieve the purpose and is now attaining the upgraded targets steadily.

We will continue to strengthen the war deterrent, the righteous self-defence means, so as to contain and control all the dangerous attempts and intimidatory acts by the hostile forces, including their sustained and aggravating nuclear threat.

Our war deterrent, which is intended to defend the rights to independence and existence of our state and safeguard peace in the region, will never be abused or used as a means for preemptive strike.

But, if, and if, any forces infringe upon the security of our state and attempt to have recourse to military force against us, I will enlist all our most powerful offensive strength in advance to punish them.

I never want that our military strength would aim at someone else.

We clarify that our war deterrent is being developed not for aiming at others.

We are developing it in order to defend ourselves.

If we don't have our own strength, the only thing we have to do is to wipe the streaming tears and blood though our fists are clenched.

Our Party, with powerful military strength, will guarantee the sovereignty of the country and reliable security of its territory and safeguard the eternal safety, peace and future of the state and people.

Comrades,

Thanks to our revolutionary armed forces equipped with the revolutionary ideology of the WPK, unbounded loyalty and filial piety to the country and people and powerful up-to-date weapons embodying the strength and soul of our people, any aggressive force will never be able to make little of our sacred country nor dare to check the advance of the Korean people.

What is left now is to ensure that our people enjoy a sufficient and civilized life to the full free from difficulties any longer.

Our Party will invariably administer and ceaselessly expand the advantageous policies and measures, which are aimed at improving the people's wellbeing and providing more benefits to them, and bring as earlier as possible the ideal society of prosperity that our people are dreaming of.

Sharing destiny with the people in the face of severe trials and experiencing the united strength of our people till now, our Party has come to know well what it should do in the future.

The Eighth Congress of the Workers' Party of Korea will advance plans and detailed targets for doing it, and our Party's struggle for providing the people with happiness will develop onto a new stage.

The further we develop, the more rampant the reactionary forces of all hues may become, and more unexpected trials may face us. However, they will be nothing compared with what we have experienced until now and we have the strength and confidence with which to overcome them all.

The single-hearted unity of the Party and the masses of the people consolidated in the long course of the struggle and the talent force and asset for self-sustenance provided by our socialism–these will surely become a powerful force that propels and accelerates our advance.

Our Party and people, who have achieved everything that others would not have dared to attempt by surmounting all manner of immeasurable trials and hardships that others had never experienced, will start their advance towards new development and prosperity with greater courage and confidence, unusual passion and preparedness.

I will ensure that all Party organizations, the government and power and military organs make more and more strict demands on themselves, direct strenuous efforts and work with sincerity for our people and for bringing a better tomorrow to them.

The ideal of our people is great, and the day when it is realized will surely come.

I will direct all my efforts to realizing the great ideal so as to ensure that innovations, development and substantial changes which everyone can feel are made in the struggle for attaining higher targets in socialist construction.

Comrades, we have become strong and are becoming stronger in the midst of trials.

Time is by our side.

Let us all advance vigorously towards a bright future of socialism, towards a fresh victory!

Last, I once again extend thanks to all the people for being in good health free from any disease.

And I also extend my heartfelt thanks to them for invariably trusting in our Party.
