Public Procession Celebrates Founding Anniversary of WPK

Pyongyang, October 11 (KCNA) -- A public procession took place at Kim Il Sung Square on Oct. 10, the 75th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).

Attending the procession were labor innovators and persons of merits from every province.

Seen at the tribune of honor were Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, first vice-chairman of the State Affairs Commission (SAC) of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, Ri Pyong Chol, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, vice-chairman of the Central Military Commission of the WPK and vice-chairman of the WPK Central Committee, Kim Tok Hun, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee and premier of the DPRK Cabinet, and Pak Pong Ju, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, vice-chairman of the SAC of the DPRK and vice-chairman of the WPK Central Committee.

Standing at the tribune were also members of the leadership body of the WPK Central Committee including Kim Jae Ryong, Ri Il Hwan, Choe Hwi, Pak Thae Dok, Kim Yong Chol, Choe Pu Il, Thae Hyong Chol, O Su Yong, Kim Hyong Jun, Ho Chol Man, Pak Myong Sun, Jong Kyong Thaek, Kim Il Chol, Im Chol Ung, Ri Ryong Nam, Kim Yong Hwan and Pak Jong Nam.

Pak Jong Chon, Kim Su Gil, Kim Jong Gwan and other commanding officers appeared at the tribune.

Those, who had worked long as Party and government officials and commanding officers, including Kim Yong Nam, Choe Yong Rim, Yang Hyong Sop, Kim Ki Nam and Choe Thae Bok were seen standing at reserved seats for guests.

The reserved seats for guests were also taken by delegates to the celebrations for the 75th founding anniversary of the WPK and working people in Pyongyang.

After the declaration of the start of the public procession, the procession began amid the playing of the song "Glory to Our Great Party".

At the time when a column carrying the statues of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il appeared in the square, fireworks were shot off and many balloons let loose and a sea of waving flowers was unfolded.

Columns portraying large flags of the DPRK, the symbol of our great state, and the WPK, the ever-victorious banner, entered the square.

Working people, youth and students from various parts of the country were full of reverence for the WPK which translated the long-cherished desire of the Korean people into reality.

Columns of cheering people from every province with a float bearing the letters "The guide through our destiny, the banner of invincibility" marched past the square, representing the course covered by the WPK shinning as a history of the people.

The square echoed with the song "Our Home is the Embrace of the Party" which can be heard in all parts of the country from its northern tip to the city near the demarcation line, amid hurrah for the WPK raised by the participants.

Columns carrying Party flags and national flags walked past the square with a float bearing letters "Forward along the road of socialism under the guidance of the great party!", reflecting the strong spirit of the Korean people to successfully carry out the Juche-oriented cause of socialism under the direction of the Party Central Committee.

With the playing of the revolutionary hymn "Ode to General Kim Jong Un", the square again turned into a sea of flowers.
