Fate Sealed for Obama
In
August 2014 a young black was killed by a white policeman in Ferguson,
Missouri. In the wake of the incident, mass protests against racial
discrimination swept all over the United States, which poured cold water on its
politicians’ fervid “human rights” row against other countries.
Blacks
are not humans
Until
now Abraham Lincoln, president of the United States during the American Civil
War (1861-1865), is hailed as the “hero” who brought about the emancipation of
the slaves.
In
2011, the year marking the 150th anniversary of the war, some
experts argued that the war was not about abrogation of slavery.
Admittedly,
Lincoln had issued the Emancipation Proclamation during the war. But it turned
out to be sly stratagems to help the industrial bourgeoisie on Northern soil
prevail over the slave owners in the South. As a matter of fact, American
blacks had long since been subjected to slavery.
In
the 1950s and 1960s, the black Baptist minister Martin Luther King led the
nonviolent civil-rights movement against segregation of the blacks.
Consequently, in 1964, the ruling circles were compelled to pass the laws
guaranteeing civil rights and suffrage for the blacks.
But
now they are not given equal access to employment, education and medical care.
According
to the statistics by the Department of Labour, the unemployment rate for the
blacks is twice as high as that for the whites and five times as many blacks
fall victim to murder.
In
recent years nearly half of the black students at high schools in California
dropped out.
It
is a stark reality in America that the whites feel most insulted when they
happen to walk alongside the blacks or are seated beside them in restaurants,
hotels and other public places. It is more deplorable to see Ku Klux Klan and
numerous other murder groups targeted on the blacks still active here and
there.
Black
lives are at stake
According
to the American newspaper Salt Lake
Tribune, 45 of the murder cases that happened in Utah from 2010 to October
2014 were offences committed by police.
This
is proof that American policemen, who are duty-bound to maintain social order,
become more adept at killing than gangsters. Surprisingly, most of the victims
are the blacks.
More
astounding is the attitude of the judicial authorities. As for the above
Missouri case, the white policeman was acquitted of the murder of the black
boy. In other parts of America the white killers were given a verdict of “not
guilty.”
Enraged
crowds thronged the streets in New York, Washington, Detroit, Los Angeles,
Houston, and Seattle and so on. The blacks throughout America are in the grip
of anxiety for their own lives.
But
the White House is turning a deaf ear to their just demands, even mobilizing
soldiers to suppress the demonstrations.
Obama
called their protests “criminal,” stating that for their “violent acts” the
demonstrators should not be treated with tolerance.
More
interesting, Obama himself is a black man. He prides himself on being the first
black president in US history, but he needs to be mindful of his colour.
Recently,
there was an intrusion into the White House by a white man, whose aim might be
killing a black man there.
In
such a black-phobic society Obama cannot expect to be treated exceptionally.
Rather
than taking issue with the “human rights” situation in any other country, he
must address the challenges he faces at home and care for his own “safety.”
Kim Jong Un Inspects October 3
Dockyard under KPA Navy Unit 597
Pyongyang, February 8 (KCNA) --
Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un, first secretary of
the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the DPRK National Defence
Commission, gave field guidance to the October 3 Dockyard under KPA Navy Unit
597 and set forth the task for its updating.
There he looked round the monument to on-site guidance of
the peerlessly great persons of Mt. Paektu and rooms devoted to the education
in revolutionary history and to the history of the dockyard.
Seeing the historic mementoes and data, he recalled with
deep emotion the course of development of the dockyard, which was built as the
country's first base for warship repair in July 1947 at the instruction of
President Kim Il Sung.
And he noted that when visiting the dockyard in the last
year of his life, leader Kim Jong Il gave the important tasks that would serve
as guidelines in operating it, underlining the importance of its duty.
Thanks to the far-sighted wisdom of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong
Il, the East and West Sea Fleets of the KPA Navy could have solid material and
technical foundations whereby to repair any type of warship in a short period,
he said.
Then the Supreme Commander went round the engine repair
work-team, trial operation ground, dock, quay and other parts of the dockyard
to learn in detail about the repairing of warships and working conditions and
living environment of its employees.
He stressed the need for the dockyard to update its
production processes in line with the requirement of the age of knowledge-based
economy so as to successfully carry out the task of repairing warships and
contribute to the modernization of warships.
He instructed officials to give the dockyard a complete
facelift to make its interior and exterior quite different from what they used
to be as well as to build cultural and welfare establishments and a scientific
and technological dissemination room in a perfect way.
He also said that the dockyard should be equipped with better
sewage disposal facilities in conformity with the scientific and technological
requirements to prevent the industrial waste water from polluting the sea.
The October 3 Dockyard has a very important role to play in
developing the navy, he said, and called for turning it into a model and
standard dockyard in the country, adding that the party would solve all
problems arising in doing it.
He expressed belief that the dockyard would be successfully
renovated on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the WPK to make a tangible
contribution to the repair and modernization of various battleships and the
development of the nation's shipbuilding industry.
Accompanying him were Army Col. Gen. Yun Tong Hyon,
vice-minister of the People's Armed Forces, and Hong Yong Chil, vice department
director of the WPK Central Committee.
Kim Jong Un Watches Newly-Developed
Anti-Ship Rocket Test-firing
Pyongyang, February 7 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the
Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of
Korea and first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, watched a
test-firing of new type of anti-ship rocket to be deployed at KPA naval units.
He was greeted on the spot by Army
Col. Gen. Yun Tong Hyon, vice-minister of the People's Armed Forces, Rear
Admiral Jin Chol Su, head of the East Sea Fleet of the KPA Navy, Hong Yong
Chil, vice department director of the WPK Central Committee, and officials in
the field of defence science.
Scientists and technicians in the
field of defence science and workers of munitions industry successfully
developed a new type of cutting-edge anti-ship rocket.
At the observation post Kim Jong Un
learned about the tactical and engineering data of newly-developed anti-ship
rocket before watching its test-firing.
As the head of the East Sea Fleet
ordered the test-firing, the ultra-precision anti-ship rocket blasted off from
a rocket boat. The intelligent rocket precisely sought, tracked and hit the
"enemy" ship after taking a safe flight.
The test-firing proved in a
scientific way that the powers of rocket boat and the anti-ship rocket's rate
of hits reached the level of designed tactical and engineering data.
The new-type anti-ship rocket to be
deployed for action at naval units of KPA before long made it possible to bring
a great change in the navy's defence of territorial waters and strongly react
to any attempt of the enemy's fleets of warships for military attack, through
close combat or distant combat.
Expressing his satisfaction over the
fact that all types of rockets being developed and produced by the DPRK are of
the highest level capable of totally containing the enemies, the Supreme
Commander said that the perfect development of the rocket capable of striking
any enemy fleet of battleships at will from a long distance clearly showed
again the validity of the WPK's policy of making the military equipment
intelligent on an ultramodern level.
Then he set forth new tasks facing
the field of national defence science and technology, expressing belief that
more tactical guided weapons of high precision and intelligence, which help
seize the initiative in any operation and combat of modern warfare, would be
produced on the basis of the success and experience gained in the test-firing.
