KIM JONG UN ENJOYS JOINT PERFORMANCE OF STATE MERITED CHORUS AND MORANBONG BAND

Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, together with Ri Sol Ju enjoyed a joint performance given by the State Merited Chorus and the Moranbong Band for celebrating the 70th founding anniversary of the WPK.

Put on the stage of the performance which started with the National Anthem were diverse numbers including mixed chorus and male chorus "Mother's Birthday," light music and series of songs "Long Live the Workers' Party of Korea," male solo and chorus "We Sing of the Party," orchestral music "Pyongyang Is Best" and female chorus "With Pride."

The performers impressively represented the Korean people's most ardent and noblest feelings of gratitude to the WPK which has covered 70-year-long sacred path by leading the Korean revolution, responsible for their destiny, under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung, leader Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un.

Male trio and chorus "Ode to the Workers' Party of Korea" and male choruses "Shine, Name of Sun" and "Song of Korea's Advance" newly created and represented by the State Merited Chorus imbued the audience with the faith that the invulnerable socialist fortress independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in defence was built on this land and a wide avenue to a thriving nation is being paved thanks to the wise leadership of the WPK which has led the revolution and construction in reliance upon the creative energies of the popular masses, its roots taken deep in their minds.

Artistes of the Moranbong Band put on the stage such new songs as "Our Comrade Kim Jong Un," "We Have Longed to See You" and "We Will Follow Our Party Forever" created and represented by them.

The songs mesmerized the audience as they represented with sublime and sweet melodies the ardent reverence and trust of all the service personnel and people who trust and follow Kim Jong Un as protector of their destiny.

The artistes sang high praises of the single-minded loyalty of the service personnel and people to dynamically make long journeys for revolution, united close around Kim Jong Un. It ended with the finale "Mother's Birthday."

The performance was highly acclaimed by the audience as it has brought about a fresh phase of music representation through a successful combination of Korean-style light music, orchestra and diverse vocal pieces.

Kim Jong Un expressed great satisfaction over the successful performance given by the creators and artistes of the State Merited Chorus and the Moranbong Band as it represented the warm love of the mother party for the people and demonstrated the faith and will of all the service personnel and people to remain loyal to the party forever. He had a photo session with them.

He highly praised them, saying that the joint performance represented well the 70-year-long sacred history of the party and the creators and artistes successfully fulfilled their mission and duty before the times. He expressed expectation and belief that they will vigorously launch the revolutionary and militant art activities in the future, too.

Among the audience were Choe Ryong Hae, Kim Yang Gon and the participants in the grand performance of 10 000 artistes for celebrating the 70th founding anniversary of the WPK.
