DPRK FM SPOKESMAN ON REVISED “US-JAPAN DEFENSE COOPERATION GUIDELINES”
Diplomatic and military authorities of the United States and Japan held a security meeting on April 27 to revise the “US-Japan defense cooperation guidelines”.
In the new “guidelines” the US set major five sectors for security cooperation with Japan ranging from “peace time” to “contingency”, calling for such strengthened role of the Japan “Self-Defense Forces” (SDF) as ballistic missile interception, logistic support to the US forces worldwide, guarantee of maritime security, search and mine sweeping, non-proliferation of WMDs, inspection of vessels and anti-terrorism operation.
After all the US expanded to the whole world the sphere of SDF’s activities, which had been limited to the vicinity of Japan, and made it possible to get military support from Japan during its military operation in any part of the world.
In this regard, a spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry issued a statement on April 30 condemning the revised guidelines.
What cannot be overlooked is the fact that the US pulled up the DPRK, contending that the revision was needed to “deter any provocative action” of the latter, the statement said, adding:
The US asserted that the revised “guidelines” are to cope with “threat” from the DPRK. But it is the ulterior objective of the US to lessen its heavy burden of military spending with the strengthened role of SDF, use Japan as a shock brigade for realizing its ambition for world supremacy, encircle and contain its rivals in Eurasia by force of arms and maintain its hegemonic position.
The US has fanned up Japan’s revival of militarism to attain its goal, in disregard of the world concern over the latter’s attempt to embellish and deny the past history.
The strengthened US-Japan military alliance will inevitably harass the stability of Northeast Asia, foment confrontation and friction in the region and spark off disputes and arms race.
No matter how the structure of relations among neighbouring countries may change, the DPRK will invariably hold fast to Songun politics and the line of simultaneously developing the two fronts and bolster up its capabilities for self-defense with the nuclear deterrent as a pivot unless the US gives up its hostile policy aimed to stifle the former.

RECKLESS REMARKS TO COVER UP PAST CRIMES
A spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry gave the following answer to the question put by KCNA as regards Japanese Prime Minister Abe's crafty behaviour to cover up Japan's past crimes while insulting the victims of the sexual slavery for the imperial Japanese army on April 29:
Abe on his trip to the US termed sexual slaves "victims of flesh traffic" in a recent lecture and at a press conference he let loose a spate of reckless remarks asserting that sexual slaves were results of flesh traffic.
What Abe uttered was an intolerable insult to the victims.
Explicitly speaking, the sexual slaves for the imperial Japanese army were victims of the sexual slavery systematically enforced by militarist Japan by force, not victims of flesh traffic.
The hideous crimes committed by Japan against humanity during its occupation of Korea and World War II are stark historical facts that can neither be concealed nor be covered up.
Abe and other Japanese right-wing conservative forces are working hard to totally negate their past crimes and evade responsibility for them through such crafty wordplay. This can be done only by hooligans devoid of morality and human conscience and psychopath bereft of elementary normal sense.
Abe's reckless remarks that shielded the hideous crimes against humanity in disregard of the international community strongly urging Japan to make an apology and reparation for its past crimes including the issue of sexual slavery vividly showed the moral vulgarity and impudence of Japan.
Abe reportedly said Japan would donate funds to the UN for the protection of women's rights. This is also a base act of making mockery of mankind as it means bargaining on inviolable human rights with a petty amount of money.
If the Japanese authorities persist in putting under the carpet the past crime-woven history of Japan and repeating it, it will never escape destruction more shameful than its defeat in the past war.
The Abe-led Japanese authorities should drop their anachronistic way of thinking and honestly admit and apologize and make reparation for all the inhuman crimes including the sexual slavery as demanded by the international community.

US MOVES TO PLUG S. KOREA INTO MD SYSTEM UNDER FIRE
A spokesman for the Disarmament and Peace Institute of the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK released on April 30 a statement denouncing the US for running the whole gamut of intrigues to plug south Korea into the US-led missile defense system by deploying THAAD in south Korea under the pretext of “threat” from the DPRK. The statement said:
The US and south Korean puppet authorities at a recent KIDD meeting confirmed an operation plan for deterring “threat from north’s nukes and missiles” in the light of coordinated operation and agreed to operate the US-south Korea “deterrence strategic committee.”
The US is attempting to deploy THAAD in south Korea for the first time in the wake of its deployment on the mainland and Guam. This is related to the establishment of MD, an important part of the strategy for dominating the Asia-Pacific region.
The ulterior aim sought by the US in the projected deployment of THAAD in south Korea under the pretence of “threat” from the DPRK is to forward-deploy high-performance radar in south Korea in order to rapidly monitor and chase the movements of missiles of the rivals in the Eurasian region.
The US deployment of THAAD in south Korea would result in unilaterally weakening or disabling the deterrent force of strategic forces of neighbouring countries and, consequently, upsetting the existing deterrence balance between the US and surrounding countries. This would spark off mistrust and friction between the surrounding countries and the US and south Korea which allowed its deployment and would entail irretrievable baneful consequences and new danger to the security environment in the region.
The escalating tension in the region would make the south Korean puppet forces having the shackling “alliance” with the US increasingly dependent on it.
In the final analysis, through the deployment of THAAD the US seeks to achieve its military purpose and, at the same time, strain the relations between south Korea and surrounding countries to put Seoul under its tighter control.
The surrounding countries warn that deployment of THAAD in south Korea would go beyond the “red-line” and south Korea would become a target of nuclear attack from other countries. This fully reflects their concern and caution of other countries against THAAD.

The deployment of THAAD in south Korea would further increase the danger of conflict among powers in Northeast Asia. This will compel the DPRK to bolster up its military capability to cope with it as the DPRK will be exposed to its threat.
