Anti-DPRK “Human Rights Resolution” Blasted

A  spokesman  for  the  Foreign  Ministry  of  the  DPRK  issued  on  November  21  the  following statement  in  connection  with  the  fact  that  anti-DPRK  “human  rights  resolution”  was  railroaded through the third committee of the 70th UN General Assembly:

The “resolution” worked out and submitted by the EU and Japan under the manipulation of the
US is peppered with fraud, swindle and malignant vituperations against the DPRK from A to Z. We categorically reject the “human rights resolution”, a vivid expression of the US hostile policy towards the DPRK and a typical example of politicization of human rights, selectivity and double-standards, as it is a serious politically-motivated provocative document.
Those countries which sponsored  the  “resolution” have  neither  face  nor  justification  to  pull  up others in the light of their hypocritical nature and their current poor human rights record. Those who should be brought to justice are the US, the world’s worst human rights tundra and worst human rights abuser, the EU which resorts to inhuman treatment of refugees and Japan which has not made any admittance, apology and reparation for its hideous human rights crimes in the past.
These forces used whopping lies presented by such human scum as “defectors from the north” who fled the homeland after committing indelible crimes against the country and their kith and kin as “evidence” for drafting the said “resolution.” Truth about the facts has repeatedly been brought to light in the world’s eyes. One has to confirm things with one’s own eyes before slandering others. That’s why we invited officials concerned including the EU representative for human rights issue and  the  UN  high  commissioner  for  human  rights  to  visit  the  DPRK and  see  for  themselves  the advantageous human rights system and policies of prioritizing the people and showing loving care for them which are admired by many people, while urging them not to just lend an ear to rubbish talked by riff-rafts. We, at the same time, proposed sincere dialogue and cooperation in the field of human rights out of magnanimity.
However, they cancelled the visit to the DPRK for a political reason that can convince no one and other unreasonable reason and peddled again “draft resolution” against the DPRK in collusion with the hostile forces. Such attitude of the EU clearly proves the true aim sought by the body which styles itself a “human rights champion.” The recent railroading of the “resolution” clearly proves once again the essence and absurdity of the “human rights” campaign of the hostile forces including the US which is aimed at overturning the social system in the DPRK as well as the true nature of the UN human rights bodies which threw off the principle of impartiality and neutrality, bound to the US and the West.
We stand for genuine dialogue and cooperation in the human rights field but will never tolerate those  deliberately  shunning  our  sincere  will  for  cooperation  and  seeking  to  keep  pressuring  the DPRK to achieve a sinister political purpose.
The tragic developments in the Mid-east and several countries which were thrown into political chaos  and  bloodshed  clearly  prove  what  dear  price  one  has  to  pay  for  allowing  interference  in internal affairs that is perpetrated under the pretexts of “human rights” and “democracy”. The  miserable  situation  in  several  regions  of  the  world  eloquently  proves  that  human  rights precisely mean sovereignty and it is quite right for the DPRK to respond to any plot to overthrow the socialist system in the DPRK with a tough stand.
Now  that  the  UN  is  being  abused  as  a  theatre  for  hurling  slanders  at  the  DPRK  under  the manipulation of the US and the West, the DPRK will take corresponding measures. The hostile forces have to clearly understand that they can gain nothing from their frantic anti-DPRK ‘human rights’ campaign and sinister intrigues.
DPRK “human rights” campaign and sinister intrigues.

Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, inspected the modernized Pyongyang Children's Foodstuff Factory.
He saw the newly-built mosaic "The great leaders Comrade Kim Il Sung and Comrade Kim Jong Il examining foodstuff for children" and monument to field guidance of the peerlessly great persons of Mt. Paektu.

The modernization of the factory is very admirable, he said, adding: It is thanks to the creative wisdom and unyielding spirit of our workers, scientists and technicians and the great potentiality of our machine-building industry that the huge modernization project could be finished on a high level in one year.
What pleased him in particular in modernizing the factory is the fact that each production process is equipped with up-to-date facilities designed by our scientists and technicians and made by our own efforts, he said, stressing that localization constitutes the core of the Party's policy on modernization.
He said that when some people with proclivity to import visit the factory, their import mania would completely be cured.

Kim Jong Un Goes Round Movable Net Fish-breeding Ground

Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, gave field guidance to the movable net fish-breeding ground newly set up on the River Taedong.
Officials and other working people of Pyongyang City successfully set up modern and automated net fish-breeding ground between Okryu Bridge and Rungna Islet of the picturesque Taedong River in a short span of time.
He looked round the ground to learn in detail about the features of fish-breeding facilities and how fishes are being bred.
He said nets were set up in such a way as to safely move to other waters in rainy season and place them at the river bed in winter season so that they may not be affected by change of seasons.
He showed high appreciation of the fact that the ground distributed silver carps, Ryongjong fish, carps and shellfish in different layers, taking into consideration the characteristic features of fishes whose condition varies according to depth of water, and established a feeding system capable of preventing water contamination while saving food as much as possible, adding that this made it possible to ensure profitability and raise effectiveness in fish breeding.
In order to successfully breed fishes in nets it is necessary to establish fish-breeding methods and standard suited to the features of relevant waters, make efforts to satisfactorily solve the issues of fries of good species and food and, at the same time, take measures for massively producing nets, he said.
He noted that going round the ground, he could know well Pyongyang City took the lead in the drive for translating into reality the Party's intention to turn the DPRK into a world famous fish-breeding nation as early as possible true to the behests of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.
He expressed expectation and conviction that its employees would massively breed fishes to enable people to greatly benefit from the fish breeding, noting that the newly built net fish-breeding ground is an important means for making the people's life happy and bountiful.
Then he had a photo session with them.
He was accompanied by O Su Yong, secretary of the C.C., the WPK, and Jo Yong Won, vice department director of the C.C., the WPK.

He arrived at Kaeson Station of the Pyongyang Metro where the trial operation was to be conducted at 22:30 on Thursday.
Going round the station, he said he missed President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il that day more than ever before, adding that the Pyongyang Metro was a precious treasure of the nation and a grand monumental structure as it was associated with the loving care shown by them for the people all their lives to provide the people with conditions for a more bountiful and civilized life.
He noted how happy they would have been to see the subway train made by our workers, scientists and technicians run.
He shuttled from Kaeson Station to Thongil, Sungri, Ponghwa and Yonggwang stations by the subway train to learn in detail about its trial operation.
The performance of the subway train is very good, he said, adding that its speed is satisfactory and brake works flawlessly.
The subway train looks fashionable and fittings and operation information appliances also meet the modern requirements, he said. He noted that people would like very well traveling by the subway train made by Koreans with the indigenous technology.
Our heroic and resourceful Kim Il Sung's and Kim Jong Il's working class, scientists and technicians boundlessly faithful to the Party proved in practice, not with words, that the words "proclivity to import" should be eliminated from people's minds through the successful trial operation, he stressed, adding that this encouraged him more than anything else.
He had a photo session with officials, scientists and technicians of the Kim Jong Thae Electric Locomotive Complex and the relevant field who participated in the trial operation.
He set forth important tasks to be fulfilled to better spruce up the Pyongyang Metro to meet the requirements of a highly civilized socialist nation and put the metro management and operation on a higher modern and IT basis.

FM SPOKESMAN ACCUSES U.S. OF SHUNNING CONCLUSION OF PEACE TREATY

A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK Friday gave the following answer to the question raised by KCNA as regards the U.S. attempt to shun the conclusion of peace treaty:
Days ago the special representative for North Korea policy of the U.S. Department of State said at a seminar that the DPRK had a wrong order in proposing conclusion of peace treaty, adding that there should be important progress in denuclearization before replacing the Armistice
Agreement by peace treaty.
This is the height of impudence.
In the past the DPRK discussed the issue of denuclearization first and held many talks on simultaneously discussing the nuclear issue and the matter of ensuring peace, but they yielded no fruits.
This is attributable to the unchanged hostile relations between the DPRK and the U.S.
The U.S. must know the fact that the nuclear issue surfaced in the 1980s owing to the DPRK-U.S. belligerent relations that started in the 1950s. It claimed that peace treaty can be concluded only after denuclearization. Its insistence on the order of discussion is, in the final analysis, little short of refusing to roll back its hostile policy toward the DPRK.
The historical experience showed that it is impossible to solve any problem without fundamentally settling the hostile relations between the DPRK and the U.S. by replacing the AA by peace treaty.
If peace treaty is concluded and there exists confidence that the U.S. is no longer the enemy of the DPRK, it will be possible to solve all other problems.

The U.S. should not misjudge the good-will of the DPRK calling for the conclusion of peace treaty but think twice over the consequences to be entailed by turning its face away from the proposal.

US CONSERVATIVE FORCES DENOUNCED FOR TRYING TO RE-LIST DPRK AS "SPONSOR OF TERRORISM"

A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK gave on November 12 the following answer to the question raised by KCNA as regards the fact that the US conservative politicians are raising the issue of re-listing the DPRK as "sponsor of terrorism":
Shortly ago, the chairman of the subcommittee on anti-terrorism, nuclear non-proliferation and trade of the US House International Relations Committee cried out for re-listing the DPRK as a "sponsor of terrorism," taking issue with its nuclear deterrent for self-defence.
A string of such sheer sophism is often heard from among conservatives in the US Congress.
In 2008 the then US Administration of republicans de-listed the DPRK as a "sponsor of terrorism." It was not the benevolence shown by Washington for the DPRK but a thing done, prompted by its standard and interests.
Now those fools ignorant of details and essence of the issue become vocal, styling themselves as politicians. The US Congress looks like a market selling second-hand goods.
The US conservatives intend to brand the DPRK as a "sponsor of terrorism" though its nuclear issue is absolutely irrelevant to terrorism. Their assertions are nothing but rigmarole of those steeped in inveterate repugnancy and hostility toward the DPRK.
The DPRK remains unperturbed even if the US re-lists it as a "sponsor of terrorism."

The DPRK will remain unchanged in its principled stand of opposing all forms of terrorism. But it will bolster up its nuclear deterrent at a speed baffling the imagination of the US as long as it persistently pursues its hostile policy towards the former.

JAPAN URGED TO APPROACH ISSUE OF SEXUAL SLAVERY FOR IMPERIAL JAPANESE ARMY FROM PROPER STAND

Japan Urged to Approach Issue of Sexual Slavery for Imperial Japanese Army from Proper Stand
It was reported that Japanese Prime Minister Abe agreed to accelerate the negotiations for the "earlier settlement of the issue of the comfort women for the Imperial Japanese Army" at talks with the south Korean chief executive in Seoul recently.
The news triggered off indignation of the victims of the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army residing in the DPRK and voices of denunciation from victims of various countries in Asia and from relevant organizations.
On Nov. 6 a spokesman for the Korean Committee on Measures for the Sexual Slavery for Japanese Army and Drafting Victims in a statement called on the Japanese authorities to approach the issue from a sincere and responsible stand to be understandable to all the victims around the world, instead of working hard to evade the historical and state responsibility for the issue.
The statement went on:
A lot of victims of the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army are alive not only in the DPRK, China, the Philippines, Indonesia and other victimized Asian countries but also in the Netherlands. They strongly demand the Japanese government make proper apology and reparation for the sexual slavery and take steps for their reinstatement.
The issue of sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army, international crime against humanity, is not a bargaining chip for serving political interests nor is it an issue for Japan to gloss it over by coaxing the south Korean authorities alone.
In order to seek a proper solution to the issue the assailant Japan should admit state and legal responsibilities for all the crimes committed by it, make sincere apology and reparation to all the victims and their bereaved families in various countries and regions and give assurances to the international community against the recurrence of the crimes through the proper education in history and other practical actions.
The sexual slavery issue has become an international issue whose solution is urgent for putting an end to sexual violence and establishing universally accepted value of human rights.
This is clearly proved by the fact that recommendations and resolutions demanding the fair solution to the issue have been adopted by international organizations including the UN Human Rights Council and parliaments of various countries of the world and statues symbolic of the victims of the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army have been erected one after another.

The Japanese authorities should be well aware of the fact that only when it takes measures from a sincere and responsible stand on all the crimes against humanity committed by it in the past including the sexual slavery, can it build true relations of trust with the international community and make contribution to regional harmony and stability.

Kim Jong Un Goes Round Completed Mirae Scientists Street

Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, went round Mirae Scientists Street, which was successfully completed as a model of Juche-oriented architecture and fairy street in the era of the Workers' Party.
Feasting his eyes on the street, he said the longer one watches it, the more magnificent and spectacular it looks. He noted with pleasure that it proves visually the idea of the Workers' Party of Korea of attaching importance to science and talents, it is a fashionable street of perfect combination of the Juche character, national identity, originality and formative art and unique one of our style which appeared in the capital city of Pyongyang as an icon of cultural efflorescence.
He said it is something unimaginable to build a street with flats for thousands of families and more than 150 public catering outlets in a matter of just one year by the existing method of construction. He noted with excitement that the completion of Mirae Scientists Street convinces everybody that the appearance of the country would undergo beyond recognition a decade later as everything is done in just one year instead of ten years.

Enclosed are the pictures of Mirae Scientists Street.

Mt. Paektu and Kim Jong Il

Mt. Paektu, 2 750 m, is the highest mountain in Korea.
Known as the ancestral mountain of the Korean nation and the sacred mountain of the Korean revolution, it is closely associated with the career of Kim Jong Il (1942-2011), eternal Chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK.

Paektu Shining Star
Kim Jong Il was born on February 16, 1942, in Mt. Paektu, the base of the armed struggle the Korean people waged to liberate Korea from Japanese military occupation. The anti-Japanese guerrillas, reflecting their earnest wish that he would become the lodestar adding glory to Korea in support of the cause of the respected General Kim Il Sung, the Sun of the nation, wrote on barked trees such slogans as “O Korea and fellow countrymen, Paektu Shining Star was born” and “Long live the Paektu Shining Star that rose over the three thousand-ri land of Korea.”
In 1960 when he entered Kim Il Sung University in Pyongyang, he wrote a song, titled, “O Korea, I Will Add Glory to Thee,” with a firm determination to be the master of Korea and lead it to a bright future, upholding President Kim Il Sung’s intention.
True to his faith and will, Kim Jong Il developed the Juche idea and the Songun idea created by the President, into the guiding ideologies of the country and the times and thoroughly implemented them, thus building the DPRK into an invincible socialist power.
Led by President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, the DPRK was called “the country with shining sun and star.”
In the closing years of the last century the DPRK had to suffer worst-ever trials owing to the collapse of socialism in many countries and the imperialist allied forces’ intensive anti-socialist offensives against it. When it was faced with the sudden demise of President Kim Il Sung, there were rumours of possible changes in the DPRK’s policy-making going around in the international community.
At that time Kim Jong Il firmly declared, “Do not expect any change from me!” He said: I am a son of guerrillas. Whatever big obstacles may be in the course of our advance, we should fight fearlessly, inheriting the spirit of Korean revolutionaries who make headway against difficulties. Then he administered at full throttle Songun politics based on the Songun idea authored by   Kim Il Sung.
Under his Songun-based leadership the DPRK emerged victorious in the grim war of defending socialism, thwarting every challenge of the imperialists by dint of powerful military capabilities. His wise leadership ushered in a new era of building a prosperous socialist nation, turning adversity into prosperity and misfortune into blessing.
In August 1998 Kwangmyongsong 1, the first artificial earth satellite of the DPRK, was shot into space, followed by Kwangmyongsong 2 in 2009 and Kwangmyongsong 3-2 in 2012.
Korean satellites which are all named Kwangmyongsong (Shining Star), the byname of    Kim Jong Il, show that the Korean leader promoted the country to the status as high as space and exalted its dignity all across the world.
Thunder over Jong Il Peak

There is a mysteriously shaped peak on top of Mt. Paektu. It is Jong Il Peak, named after Chairman Kim Jong Il. It is said that when he was born a bright morning star rose high in the sky, the ice on Lake Chon broke away, and thunder cracked solemnly.
The thunder over Jong Il Peak which seemed to make the birth of a great person known to the whole world later became the symbol of Kim Jong Il’s great personality.
In early 1993 dark clouds of war began to gather over the Korean peninsula.
In its attempt to stifle the DPRK, taking advantage of the collapse of several socialist countries, the United States instigated the International Atomic Energy Agency to adopt a “resolution” on “special inspection” of military sites in the DPRK on the pretext of suspicions of the latter’s nuclear development. It also announced that the Team Spirit joint military exercise, which had been suspended temporarily, would be resumed and mobilized 200 000-strong aggressive troops and state-of-the-art military hardware including strategic bombers and nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, driving the situation to the brink of war.
The world was very apprehensive of the fate of the DPRK. At that time resolute declarations like roaring thunder over Jong Il Peak were made in the DPRK; the order of the KPA Supreme Commander was issued on declaring a state of semi-war, and the DPRK government made public a statement on its withdrawal from the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty.
The Western society was shocked and noted that even though all nuclear bombs on this planet set off they would be less powerful than the DPRK statements. The United States, terrified, was compelled to suspend the joint military exercise and abandon a “special inspection.”
In March 2000 Chairman Kim Jong Il climbed Mt. Paektu and made an important resolution related with the country’s reunification.
Subsequently, a summit meeting of the leaders of the north and south of Korea was held in June in Pyongyang and the June 15 Joint Declaration was adopted.
The adoption of the north-south joint declaration brought about amazing results unprecedented in the history of Korea since its division.
Dialogues and negotiations in the fields of politics, the economy, culture and the military were held between the north and the south, which had been in hostile confrontation with each other for over half a century, producing good fruition of reconciliation and unity, cooperation and exchange. Joint sports meetings and artistic performances, materials exhibitions and seminars of historians, photo shows were held in Pyongyang and Seoul. When the sports teams from the north and south of Korea made a joint entry in the Sydney Olympic Games in September 2000, holding high the flag bearing the map of one Korea, the international community gave them a big hand. Land, air and sea routes that had been cut off for more than 50 years were reopened, and members of the separated families and relatives met.
People call the new era of history that gave birth to these miraculous events June 15 reunification era which dawned with the thunder over Jong Il Peak.

The august name and career of Chairman Kim Jong Il will shine forever with sacred Mt. Paektu.

MEETING OF MILITARY EDUCATION OFFICERS OF KPA HELD IN PRESENCE OF KIM JONG UN

The 7th Meeting of Military Education Officers of the Korean People's Army (KPA) was held at the April 25 House of Culture on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Supreme Commander of the KPA Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, was present at the meeting.
Also present there were Hwang Pyong So, Pak Yong Sik, Ri Yong Gil and other commanding officers of the KPA and exemplary military education officers, teachers and employees of military education institutions and officials of merit in the relevant field.
KPA Vice Marshal Hwang Pyong So, director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, made a report at the meeting.
The reporter said:
The great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il hewed the arduous path at the outset of the Songun revolution and in this course founded the Juche-oriented idea and theory of military education and wisely led the struggle for embodying them, thus performing immortal feats which would go down in the history of the development of revolutionary armed forces.
Their idea of the Juche-based military education and educational tradition are being successfully carried forward and developed on a new high stage under the wise leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un.
The reporter called for bringing about a radical turn in military education true to the noble intention of the Supreme Commander who provided a big assembly of military education officers to be specially recorded in the history of army building and thus usher in a new heyday in bolstering up military muscle.
The report was followed by speeches of KPA generals and officers.
Kim Jong Un made an important speech at the meeting.
In his speech he highly appreciated once again the achievements the military education officers have made in the military education in the past and indicated tasks and ways for improving and strengthening the military education as required by the developing reality by thoroughly implementing the Party's policy of making a revolution in military education.
He noted that military education is a very important and responsible work for training core and backbone elements of the KPA and patriotic one of lasting significance for the development of the revolutionary armed forces and the prosperity of the country.
The great leaders always paid deep attention to strengthening military education in the whole period of founding and leading our revolutionary armed forces and energetically led the work for consolidating the core base of the KPA by channeling great efforts into military education even in the period of the most rigorous trials, he added.
He stressed that if the KPA is to creditably discharge the noble mission and duty it assumed before the era and history, it should bolster up the military capability in every way by thoroughly carrying out the Party's policy of making a revolution in military education.
Pointing out that the aim of the said revolution is to usher in the greatest heyday in boosting the military capability by decisively raising the qualitative level of military education as required by modeling the whole army on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, he said that the Party hopes at present to see the KPA duly become a model and a pace-setter in the society in the education and the work of training talents.
It is the duty of military education for the military schools at all levels to train all cadets as the strongest in thinking and the sense of moral obligation who absolutely trust and follow and devotedly defend our Party and field commanding officers and persons of ability capable of skillfully organizing and commanding modern operations and combats, he emphasized.
The seed of the revolution in military education is to build up well the ranks of teachers of military schools at all levels, decisively raise their responsibility and role and the said revolution is, in essence, the work for bringing about a radical change among teachers, he said, and went on:
The main link in the chain efforts for making the said revolution is to arouse great enthusiasm for learning among cadets and they are main players in the said revolution.
The main thrust of the said revolution is to effect steady innovation in the contents and methods of education. It is necessary to focus efforts on improving educational contents and methods as required by the era and developing revolution.
In order to thoroughly implement the Party's policy of making a revolution in military education it is necessary to improve the educational administration and regularize and standardize the management and operation of schools.
He underscored the need to properly establish the system of guidance over military education, raise the responsibility and role of guiding officers and improve the Party's guidance over the military education.

A letter of pledge to him was adopted at the meeting.

KOREAN WOMEN’S FOOTBALL THRUST INTO THE LIMELIGHT

A Chinese homepage on the Internet commented that women’s football of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea made startling achievements in international games in recent years, thus being thrust into the limelight of world football circles once again.
The Korean women’s football became the focus of the attention of football experts and fans ever since it made its international debut.
The Korean women won the gold medals in the 13th AFC Asian Cup in 2001. In the championship they thrashed out the Singaporeans 24-0, record high in the 24-year-long Asian women’s football championships.
Many mass media around the world commented on the consecutive victories won by the Korean women in the 14th Asian Games held in 2002 and the 14th AFC Asian Cup in 2003, that theirs was the best team in the world.
The Korean team emerged victorious in the 3rd FIFA U-20 Women’s World Championship held in Moscow in 2006. It set an outstanding world record of the highest score while conceding only one goal during the championship.
They won consecutive victories in the following 15th and 17th Asian Games, 16th AFC Asian Cup and the first world juvenile football championship.
The key to their meteoric rise to fame is, first of all, their spiritual strength.
The world media reported that the Korean team won the EAFF Women’s East Asian Cup in 2013.
It defeated the south Korean team 2-1, its goals made in the first half of the game. The players again gave full play to their abilities in high spirits in the match against the Japanese team, winner of the women’s World Cup held in Germany. Most of the entrants of Japan had participated in the World Cup final, but they were quite embarrassed by the Korean players. The same was the case with the Chinese team which conceded the opener less than two minutes after the game started. The Korean footballers played the game by taking the initiative and overpowering their Chinese opponents psychologically.
The Chinese Xinhua News Agency introduced that the Korean women’s football, the most mysterious in Asia, was attracting the attention of the world like a raging wildfire and it made a fresh start as the main force in the Asian and world football arena. It also noted that the Korean team’s indomitable spirit of neither giving up nor being afraid of others was a point others must learn from.
Another key is their stubbornness in the offensive and high skills.
In the 3rd FIFA U-20 Women’s World Championship in 2006 they defeated in the league match the German, Swiss and Mexican teams by great margins, and beat the Brazilian team with superior skills 1-0 by making breakthroughs from well-organized pass and counterattack blitz in the semifinal game.
The Korean women’s team emerged as the winner in the 17th Asian Games in 2014 by defeating the world champion, the Japanese team, 3-1 in the final game. The Japanese captain confessed after the game that they had known before that the DPRK team was fast and strong.
The Korean players’ success is also attributable to their high sense of organization, esprit de corps, unyielding spirit and fortitude.
Many world media commented that the Korean football team was well organized and disciplined, and very strong in its overall offensive and defensive skills.
During the EAFF Women’s East Asian Cup held in 2013 in south Korea the DPRK team tided over the unfavourable circumstances in their match with south Korea, its eleven becoming one in mind and purpose and thus making a breakthrough for the victory.
In 2015 the Korean team took part in the EAFF Women’s East Asian Cup which was held in China. The Koreans beat the powerful counterattack by the Chinese and won the game by 3-2. They displayed esprit de corps and organizing ability in their decisive game with the south Korean team and defeated it 2-0, becoming the winner.  Wi Jong Sim was awarded the best player prize, Ra Un Sim the top scorer prize and Kim Nam Hui the best back prize.
The successive victory of the Korean women’s football is inconceivable separated from the state and social interest in sorts in the DPRK.
Its supreme leader Kim Jong Un met the players when they won the EAFF Women’s East Asian Cup in 2013 and congratulated Kim Un Ju, the winner of the best player prize, Ho Un Byol, the winner of the top scorer prize, and Kim Kwang Min, senior coach of the team, on their outstanding service to the victory. He spoke highly of their achievements, saying that they gave fine display to their Juche-oriented tactics, high skills, persevering spirit and unity. When they won the cup in 2015 again, he sent a congratulatory message to them, went to the airport to welcome them on triumphant return home and posed for a photograph with them.
Thanks to such deep concern of the supreme leader, the DPRK is developing in leaps and bounds towards the status of a sports power, a football power.

The Chinese newspaper Yanbian Ribao introduced the growing enthusiasm for football in the DPRK, noting, “The newly-emerging players are distinguishing themselves and people are growing ever more enthusiastic about football. The unyielding spirit and perseverance the Korean women players displayed during the World Cup, the preserve for football powers, showed that the Korean football is capable of further developing in the future.”
