Kim Jong Un Guides 3rd Meeting of KPA Activists in O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment Title Movement

The 3rd Meeting of Activists of the Korean People's Army (KPA) in the Movement for Winning the Title of O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment was held at the April 25 House of Culture here on August 2-3.

The meeting reviewed the successes, experience and lessons gained in the military mass movement which has been conducted true to the behest of leader Kim Jong Il and the noble intention of Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un after the 2nd Meeting of KPA Activists in the Movement for Winning the Title of O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment, and discussed the tasks and ways for intensifying the movement throughout the army.

Present there were exemplary commanding officers and men from the military units which won the title of O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment, the title of Guards and the Three-Revolution Red Flag and officials who have made contributions to the development of the military mass movement.

Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the DPRK State Affairs Commission and supreme commander of the KPA, appeared on the platform of the meeting.

It was also taken by Hwang Pyong So, Ri Myong Su, Pak Yong Sik and other KPA commanding officers and officials and servicepersons who have distinguished themselves in the mass movement.

In his opening address, Kim Jong Un stressed that the O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment Title Movement is a precious legacy for the DPRK's revolutionary armed forces associated with Kim Jong Il's feats of guidance over the Party's army building and serves as an all-powerful treasured sword for increasing the military strength.

He said that the meeting of activists in the O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment Title Movement, the first meeting of the KPA after the Seventh Congress of the WPK, is aimed to add eternal brilliance to Kim Jong Il's idea on the mass movement and his leadership exploits and turn all the KPA units into the 7th regiment of the anti-Japanese war and guards units of the Fatherland Liberation War by bringing about a fresh change in the movements for winning the titles of O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment and guards unit as required by the times and the developing revolution and defend the Party and revolution and bring earlier the final victory in reliance on the KPA.

Then, he declared the meeting open, expressing his belief that it would greatly contribute to turning the KPA into a decisive force in defending the Party and the revolution under the banner of modeling the entire army on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and providing a new milestone for increasing the military capabilities.

KPA Vice Marshal Hwang Pyong So, director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, made a report at the meeting.

The reporter noted that Supreme Commander Kim Jong Un set the O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment Title Movement as the general orientation for the military and political work in the KPA, with his deep insight into the position and role of the movement in strengthening the KPA into the powerful revolutionary Paektusan army, and advanced the policy of dynamically launching the movement for winning the title of guards unit as part of the said movement.

Kim Jong Un has led the work to conduct the movement with a main stress put on arming the entire army with the spirit of the Seventh Regiment during the anti-Japanese war and strengthening it into the bulwark devotedly defending the Party and the revolution, the reporter said.

He called for bringing about a new revolutionary turn in bolstering the military strength with the said movements as almighty treasured sword for building the powerful revolutionary Paektusan army under the leadership of Kim Jong Un and thus turning out as one in the drive to hasten the national reunification and the complete victory of socialism as early as possible.

Speeches were made by general officers and other officers of the KPA.

The speakers stressed that the credit for epochal change taking place in the bolstering of military strength goes to the wise guidance of Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Un who kindled the fierce flame of the said movement and led it.

Kim Jong Un made a speech at the meeting.

He said that the O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment Title Movement is a general line for building the Party's army and it is a mass movement of the highest form reflecting the present-day's requirement.

Only when this movement is conducted vigorously to hit the general target of building the Party's army, it is possible for the KPA to glorify down through generations the tradition of defending the Party and the revolution with the good appearance of the Party's army, he added.

It is the intention of the WPK to write a new history of the O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment Title Movement as required by the times and the developing revolution by having the bugle call of the O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment during the anti-Japanese war ring out loudly in the entire army, he said, advancing the militant slogan that the entire army should become the 7th Regiment during the anti-Japanese war and guards units during the Fatherland Liberation War.

What is important in dynamically conducting the O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment Title Movement is to direct primary efforts to strengthening the army in politic-ideological and moral aspects, he said.

It is also important to channel efforts into rounding off the combat preparations and organize all works in this aspect, he added.

He set forth the concrete tasks and ways for intensifying the O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment Title Movement.

Our cause is just and only victory and glory are in store for the powerful revolutionary Paektusan army advancing, taking hold on the O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment Title Movement as the general line of the Party's army building, he said.

He ardently called upon on all the servicepersons to turn out as one in the movements for winning the title of O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment and guards unit to create the spirit representing the Mallima era and vigorously advance toward the final victory of the cause of the Juche revolution.

A letter of pledge to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting.

He made a closing address.

He stressed that the day of the final victory in the cause of the Songun revolution would come earlier thanks to Kim Jong Il's idea of the mass movement and feats and the tested leadership of the WPK developing the mass movement of Juche onto a higher stage.

Expressing belief that all the participants in the meeting would turn out as one in the struggle to usher in the greatest heyday of the Korean revolution in the revolutionary spirit of Paektu and discharge their sacred mission and duty in writing a new history of defending the Party and revolution, he declared the meeting close.
