Contrast Road Where the Aged Walk Along

On March 5, 2015, 7 years ago, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un personally visited the Pyongyang Old People’s Home which was being wonderfully built as required by the new era.

On this day, he looked around the construction site for a long time and gave a detailed guidance to furnish it fully with facilities so that old people can arrange their life time and emotional life in a diversified way and conduct physical training suited to their physical and psychological characteristics.

He also told in earnest that not only Pyongyang Old People’s Home but also every nursing home for the aged across the country should be built as true homes to make sure that the health-seekers continue to lead their dignified lives even at the old age enjoying respect and love as revolutionary forerunners and seniors, under the concern and care of the Party, state and the whole society.

In this world, the one and only leader of people who is so much considerate about the elderly people even spending valuable time is none other the respected comrade Kim Jong Un.

It was under such meticulous guidance of the respected comrade Kim Jong Un that the Pyongyang Old People’s Home was furnished grandly. Each visitor here can hardly refrain from expressing his or her admiration at high-class living rooms scenting thick air of national fragrance, and comprehensive treatment room, sanitary facilities, library, physical exercise room, amusement hall and inner garden, etc., all of which are a congregation of giving a top priority to convenience.

However, when we look around the world, we can find the miserable looks of the elderly people forsaken by the state and society ransacking the trash cans to eke out a daily living in the countries which often create a sensation about an “all-people-equality” and “social welfare”.

In Japan which is mouthing phrases about the high economic growth, terrible incidents take place one after another where children mistreat their parents and, worse still, murder them on a plea of abject living conditions. Elderly people, finding it difficult to live any longer, become the principal offenders of murder, robbery and plunder, and choose for prisons of their own accord.

A post-retirement life is just like a reprieve; unless we steal things, we have no other way but to starve to death, let us eat properly even in prison.

- This is a lamentation of elderly people in capitalist countries including the United States.

The sharp contrast between the images of our elderly people who are living in happiness with all smiles under the socialist system where it has become a tone of society to give a preferential treatment and take a good care of the elderly people throughout the country and society vs. the images of those in capitalist countries who shed tears of depravity and despair in the streets and prison cells – this clearly shows the comparative merits and demerits between man-centered socialism and money-is- everything capitalism.

The looks of our elderly people who have become more vigorous in happiness and comfort thanks to the love and care of the respected comrade Kim Jong Un show as it is the true picture of our country which is warm with the love and affection of the great father.
