Kim Jong Un Guides Test-fire of Surface-to-Surface Medium Long-range Ballistic Missile

A surface-to-surface medium long-range ballistic missile Pukguksong-2, Korean style new type strategic weapon system, was successfully test-fired on Sunday.
Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, guided the test-fire of Pukguksong-2 on the spot.
Respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un set forth the task of developing the weapon system into surface-to-surface ballistic missile with extended firing range on the basis of the success made in the SLBM underwater test-fire held in August last year.
He received the report on the development of Pukguksong-2, set the date of the test-fire of the missile and personally guided the preparations for it on the spot.
Before the test-fire that day he looked round the caterpillar self-propelled missile launching truck produced by workers in the munitions industry by their own efforts, technology and wisdom.
At the observation post he learned in detail about the plan for the test-fire of Pukguksong-2 and gave the order to launch it.
The test-fire proved the reliability and security of the surface launch system and starting feature of the high thrust solid fuel-powered engine and reconfirmed the guidance and control features of ballistic missile during its active flight and working feature of high thrust solid fuel-powered engines and those of separation at the stages.
It also verified the position control and guidance in the middle section and section of re-entry after the separation of the improved warhead of the missile which can be tipped with a nuclear warhead, the feature of evading interception, etc. The test-fire helped test and round off the mobility and operation of the new type missile launching truck in the worst surface condition and finally confirm its technological specifications through ballistic missile launch.
The test-fire was conducted by the high-angle launching method instead of firing range, taking the security of the neighboring countries into consideration.
He said that the newly developed Pukguksong-2 is the Korean style advantageous weapon system providing convenience in operation and ensuring speed in striking and a Juche-missile, Juche-weapon in name and reality as the launching truck and ballistic missile were designed and manufactured and fired by the indigenous wisdom, efforts and technology 100 percent. He expressed great satisfaction over the possession of another powerful nuclear attack means which adds to the tremendous might of the country.
Now our rocket industry has radically turned into high thrust solid fuel-powered engine from liquid fuel rocket engine and rapidly developed into a development- and creation-oriented industry, not just copying samples, he said, adding:
Thanks to the development of the new strategic weapon system, our People's Army is capable of performing its strategic duties most accurately and rapidly in any space: under waters or on the land.

At the end of the test-fire he had a photo taken with scientists and technicians in the field of defence industry and service personnel who took part in the test-fire of Pukguksong.

He stressed that its construction goes to prove once again that neither sanctions nor pressure can ever check the victorious advance of the army and people of the DPRK along the road chosen by them.
"We built streets one by one to be proud of in the world every year and are pushing forward the construction of Ryomyong Street much bigger than other ones in its scale and volume of the project by our own efforts and with our technology and materials," he noted, adding that this is a striking demonstration of the inevitable might of the single-minded unity of the army and people of the DPRK united close around the Party and the inexhaustible national power of Juche Korea. "When the street is completed to boast the highest level of civilization, the whole world will admire again the DPRK's might of self-reliance and self-development," he said.
Stressing that the construction site of the street represents a theater of a battle demonstrating the invincible mettle of socialist Korea dynamically advancing along with the era of the Workers' Party, he ardently called on all builders to turn out as one in the final charge, vigorously run on the last course and thus complete the project without fail till the Day of the Sun.

He was pleased that the factory successfully established an integrated production system in order to put the organization of production, business activities and quality control on an IT and scientific basis at a high level for the industrial production of kimchi.
Seeing whole cabbage kimchi, pickled sliced radish seasoned with pepper, white kimchi, nutritious kimchi for children, cucumber kimchi, sliced radish kimchi and various other kimchi products on display at the sample room, he said that there are so many varieties of kimchi, trademark designs look nice and products are well packed.
He expressed great satisfaction over the rapid development of the factory, noting that its appearance has undergone such dramatic change in a matter of less than half a year that it is beyond recognition. He added that the factory has been built into a modern one to be proud of in the world by its own efforts and with indigenous technology as its production process is automated and streamlined on so amazingly high level.
He instructed the officials and employees of the factory to produce the nation's traditional food kimchi as the world's best food as it is well-known as one of the world's five health foods.

DPRK's ICBM Development Is to Cope with U.S. Nuclear War Threat: FM Spokesman

A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK gave the following answer to the question raised by KCNA Sunday as regards the fact that the U.S. is pulling up the DPRK over its preparations for ICBM test-fire that have reached their final phase:
The DPRK's ICBM development is part of its efforts for bolstering its capability for self-defence to cope with the ever more undisguised nuclear war threat from the U.S.
Nevertheless, the U.S. is crying out for tightening sanctions to pressurize the DPRK, terming the entirely just rocket launch preparations of the latter "provocation" and "threat." This reminds one of a guilty party filing the suit first.
A U.S. deputy secretary of State spouted rubbish on January 5 that threat from North Korea has reached an extreme pitch and sanctions aimed at pressurizing North Korea would as ever continue no matter what administration may appear in the U.S.
Some pseudo-experts and conservative media are busy joining the Obama group in putting pressure on the DPRK.
Explicitly speaking again, the U.S. is wholly to blame for pushing the DPRK to have developed ICBM as it has desperately resorted to anachronistic policy hostile toward the DPRK for decades to encroach upon its sovereignty and vital rights.
Despite the unheard-of harsh sanctions and pressure, the DPRK developed H-bomb and had access to standardized nuclear warheads by bolstering up its nuclear weapons on a high level at an unimaginably high speed on the strength of self-development.
The ICBM will be launched anytime and anywhere determined by the supreme headquarters of the DPRK.

Respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un clarified that the DPRK will continue to build up our self- defence capability, the pivot of which is the nuclear forces, and the capability for pre-emptive strike as long as the United States and its vassal forces keep on nuclear threat and blackmail and as long as they do not stop their war games they stage at our doorstep disguising them as annual events. Anyone who wants to deal with the DPRK would be well advised to secure a new way of thinking after having clear understanding of it.

Kim Jong Un Makes New Year Address for 2017

Respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un

Respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un made a New Year address for 2017.
In his address he sent New Year greetings to all Koreans and the progressive people of the world.
2016 was a year of revolutionary and auspicious event and great turn to be specially recorded in the history of the Workers' Party of Korea and the country, he said, referring to the achievements made last year.
Last year the Seventh Congress of the WPK was held significantly with splendour as a grand political festival thanks to the high revolutionary enthusiasm of all the party members, service personnel and people and amid deep concern of the world.
The Seventh Congress proudly reviewed the glorious history of the struggle of the WPK, which had led the revolutionary cause of Juche to victory under the wise guidance of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, and unfolded a grand blueprint for accomplishing the socialist cause under the banner of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.
An epoch-making turn was made in bolstering up the national defence capacity of Juche Korea and the DPRK soared as a nuclear and military power in the East that no formidable enemy dare encroach upon.
The proud victory was achieved in the 70-day and 200-day campaigns to glorify the Seventh Congress of the Party.
Thanks to the heroic struggle of the Kim Il Sung-Kim Jong Il working class and all other people, the gigantic goals of the 70-day and 200-day campaigns put forward by the WPK were successfully hit and a new breakthrough made in the country's economic development.
The new spirit of era for building a powerful socialist country was created and trust in the Party and faith in socialism were more deeply cherished in the hearts of the people during the 70-day and 200-day campaigns.
Kim Jong Un underscored the need to achieve the drastic advance in implementing the decision of the Seventh Congress of the Party this year.
We should concentrate all efforts on the implementation of the five-year strategy for national economic development.
This year's fighting goals should be hit without fail to open a bright prospect for the five-year strategy and put the overall economy of the country on a higher stage while consolidating the victory gained last year.
"Let us accelerate the victorious advance of socialism with the great spirit of self-reliance and self-development as the dynamic force!", this is a militant slogan we should uphold in the New Year's onward march.
It is necessary to actively wage the all-people charge for attaining the goal of five-year strategy by dint of the self-reliance and self-development.
In the field of science and technology it is imperative to solve scientific and technological problems arising in updating industrial establishments and putting the production on a normal footing there with a main emphasis on the local production of raw materials, fuel and equipment.
Electricity, metal and chemical industrial fields should take the lead.
In the coal industry and railway transport fields, a priority should be given to meeting the need for coal and its transport to power plants and metal and chemical factories.
It is important to quickly develop the machine industry.
A radical turn should be effected in light industry, agriculture and fisheries and thus a greater progress be made in improving the standard of people's living.
In the construction field, Ryomyong Street should be completed on the highest level and efforts be focused on the construction of important projects, and more educational and cultural facilities and dwelling houses be built wonderfully.
All sectors and units of the national economy should wage a vigorous drive to produce and economize as much as possible under the slogan of self-reliance and self-sufficiency and thus fulfil this year's plan on all indices.
The whole country should turn out for the land management.
On all fronts of culture including education, public health, sports and literature and arts, a fresh revolutionary surge should be brought to step up the building of a highly civilized nation.
The political and military position of socialism should be further cemented as an invincible fortress.
All the service personnel and people should share their thinking and breath with the Party and rally around it in thinking and purpose, morality and sense of obligation and work hard for the prosperity of the country.
We should resolutely smash the enemies' despicable and vicious moves to dampen the pure and ardent desire of the people for the Party and estrange the people from it.
It is also important to bring about a great surge in bolstering up the military capabilities.
Victory or defeat in this year's drive for implementing the decision made at the 7th Congress of the Workers' Party Korea depends on the role to be played by the party organizations and working people's organizations, Kim Jong Un said, stressing the need for all the primary party organizations to embody the basic spirit of the First Conference of Chairpersons of the Party Primary Committees and make sure that the spirit of uninterrupted innovation and advance is fully displayed in the all-out charge this year.
Kim Jong Un also called on the entire nation to pave a wide avenue to independent reunification by the united efforts. It is necessary to take active measures
to improve the north-south relations and defuse acute military conflict and danger of a war between the north and the south.
All the Koreans in the north and the south and abroad should unite and get united on the principle of subordinating everything to national reunification, the cause common to the nation, and activate the reunification movement on a nationwide scale.
It is needed to foil challenges of the anti-reunification forces at home and abroad going against the nation's desire for reunification.
Kim Jong Un said that unless the U.S. and its vassal forces stop nuclear threat and blackmail and unless they stop the war exercises which they stage right at our noses under the pretext of annual exercises, the DPRK would keep increasing the military capabilities for self-defence and pre-emptive striking capacity with a main emphasis on nuclear force.
The DPRK will defend the peace and security of the country with its force and make active contribution to defending the world peace and stability, he stressed.
The WPK and the government of the DPRK will remain loyal to the ideas of foreign policy -- independence, peace and friendship –and make joint efforts to expand the good-neighbourly friendship and cooperation with countries advocating independence and realize the genuine international justice.
Kim Jong Un said that he would make devoted efforts to make sure that the days when our people sang the song "We Are the Happiest in the World" full of optimism about the future with deep trust in President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il

only will become a reality today, not just a past days of history, and solemnly pledged to become a faithful servant serving the people with pure and sincere dedication.
