New Appearance of the DPRK

 The appearances of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea are changing beyond recognition.

Last year, North Phyongan and South Hwanghae provinces on the west coast of the country obtained 13 000 hectares of land by finishing the reclamation of the Honggondo tideland and two sections of the Ryongmaedo tideland, projects unprecedented in the history of reclamation of tideland in the country. Ring roads run along the banks, linking many islands and rural villages in the provinces, and crop fields and offshore farms of standard shapes have been created.

The transformation of the city of Samjiyon in the northernmost part of the country, which is called the first village at the foot of Mt Paektu, the ancestral mountain of the country, is a good example.

The construction of the city was completed in four years, divided into three stages.

Thousands of low- and high-rise apartment houses, a hospital, a hall of culture, a schoolchildren’s palace, a gymnasium, hotels and other public and industrial buildings and their signboards and illuminations go well with the natural and topographical features of the alpine area; landscaping has been completed on a high standard. The country calls it a model cultured mountain city, a standard regional city, and is trying to build all the regional cities on its level.

A man engaged in tourism in Europe, after visiting the city, said: I have visited many countries, whose economy and culture have developed, but I have never seen such a nice mountain city as this; what is more surprising is that all these wonderful houses and service facilities are for the ordinary people.

The Yangdok Hot Spring Resort is another example.

It has outstanding scenery and a number of hot springs, which are good for the promotion of people’s health and their medical treatment. Built two years ago there is a comprehensive multi-functional medical treatment, sports and cultural complex of 1 660 000m² that blends well with the regional characteristics and natural surroundings. Indoor and outdoor spa baths, ski slopes, a riding park, hotels, medical treatment and sanatorium areas, sports and cultural facilities, public catering and welfare facilities, low- and high-rise apartment houses go well with one another and are applied with practicality and formative and artistic beauty. The resort is now evaluated as a “characteristic service base that has opened a new chapter of civilization” and a “resort of a high level that can represent spa culture of the DPRK.”

A ski resort was built in an area of 1 412 hectares on Masik Pass, which links the eastern and western middle areas of the Korean peninsula.

There are ten ski slopes, 1 700m long on average and over 5 000m at the longest.

Buildings for large-scale skiing contests and administration, such as hotel and skiing and skating service and other buildings, have been built in conformity with the mountain surroundings and their utility.

There are also a helipad, ski slope watch tower, cable ways of various lengths, ranging from 600m to over 2 000m, and snow canon.

A few years ago, a large-sized greenhouse vegetable farm was built in the Jungphyong area in the northeastern coastal region to provide the people there with fresh vegetables all the year round even in unfavourable weather conditions; the 320 blocks of greenhouses and tree nursery occupying an area of 200 hectares and hundreds of houses for their employees are regarded as models of their kinds to be built across the country.

In recent years several areas in the northern, eastern and western parts of the country were hit by unprecedented flooding and typhoons; the disaster-stricken areas were renovated beyond recognition.

Now, a project of building 50 000 flats in five years is in full swing in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, and 25 000 flats for miners are being built in the mountain valley of Komdok in an eastern part of the country.

Unimaginable separated from the leadership of Kim Jong Un, president of the State Affairs, is the appearance of the DPRK, which is changing day by day; all the structures built for the wellbeing of the people are associated with his deep thinking, devotion and painstaking efforts. He aspires to the best thing possible, saying: Every structure should be built with an eye to 50 years, nay, 100 years, so that it can represent the present era.

His energetic leadership is bringing about the new appearance of his country to the admiration of the international community.

Housing Construction in the DPRK

 The past ten years witnessed a boom in housing construction in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

Regarding housing construction as an important undertaking in providing the people with more civilized and stabler living conditions, the country channels great efforts into building dwelling houses in the capital and provinces.

Modern streets and residential districts were built one after another from 2012. They include Changjon Street in the central part of Pyongyang, Unha Scientists Street, apartment buildings for lecturers at Kim Il Sung University and Kim Chaek University of Technology, Wisong Scientists Residential District, Mirae Scientists Street and Ryomyong Street.

From then onwards, a modern street sprang up every year in Pyongyang.

Housing construction was undertaken on an unprecedented scale also in towns and rural communities in provinces.

The renovation project of the city of Samjiyon in northern Korea which had been carried out in three stages was brought to completion in 2021, four years after its start. As a model of perfect harmony of modern, national and alpine features, the city attracted the attention of the international community. 

As a result of the construction of low-rise and multi-storeyed apartment houses for thousands of households and many excellent facilities, the mountainous town, 1 300 metres above sea level on average, was completely changed in the true sense of the word.

Modern houses were built one after another in many other places like Onjong-ri, Yangdok County in the middle part of the country and Sangso-ri, Poptong County in the eastern part.

In the Jungphyong area in the northeastern part, hundreds of modern houses were built for the employees of a large-scale greenhouse vegetable farm and a tree nursery.

Precedence was given to housing construction in building the Tanchon Power Station which is of great importance in the country’s power production. This clearly showed the considerate intention of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the government of the DPRK to prevent inconveniences in the life of the residents who would have to be relocated when important construction projects were undertaken.

Also worthy of note is the fact that prompt measures are taken for disaster victims.

In 2015, 2016, 2020 and 2021 many parts of the country were severely affected by flooding, heavy rains and typhoons, resulting in a number of factories, enterprises and farmland as well as houses being destroyed or inundated. 

Many people around the world were concerned and pessimistic about the flood victims in the DPRK as it was suffering harsh difficulties and hardships owing to persisting blockade and sanctions by the forces hostile towards it.

However, the WPK and the government of the DPRK promptly rose to the occasion. With a view that the sufferings of the people were the biggest emergency and there was no more important work than the undertaking to relieve the people of their misfortune, they defined the construction of houses for the victims as the first priority in the rehabilitation project and mobilized all the human, material and technical potentials of the country. Thus, nice streets and villages were built in a very short span of time and the flood victims were provided with new houses. 

The people around the world were surprised to see the flood victims, who they thought must be in despair, moving to new houses. 

What is more surprising is the fact that the houses are built with state investment and given to them free of charge. 

The scale of the country’s housing construction is getting larger and larger with the passage of time.

In March 2021  the ground-breaking ceremony for the project to build 10 000 flats was held in Pyongyang in the presence of Kim Jong Un, president of the State Affairs of the DPRK. 

A big architectural group composed of 10 000 flats was formed in the Songsin and Songhwa districts and 800 luxurious houses in the Pothong riverside terraced houses district was near to completion.

The Komdok area, the country’s leading non-ferrous minerals producer, is being renovated into an unprecedentedly large mountain gorge town; 25 000 new houses are planned to be built in the miners’ town by 2025, which marks the 80^th founding anniversary of the WPK.

This is not because the country has a surplus of funds in its coffer or it has good conditions; it is because the state regards it as the supreme principle of its activities to make everything serve the people and work for their wellbeing.

To be more specific, all this is thanks to the politics of love for the people, which is administered by Kim Jong Un who always pays close attention to providing a stabler and more civilized life to the people.

What he said in his speech at the above-mentioned ground-breaking ceremony is quite impressive: The Party and the government, having made themselves aware of the number of families that were in need of new houses, conducted in-depth research to determine the measures for solving the problem; they regarded this project as their most important task; and nothing is more worthwhile, honourable, or happier, for us than to dedicate our sweat and passion, without hesitation, to building an ideal street that will be a warm home for our people.

“I Felt Glad to Offer Help”

 

According to the DPRK’s mass media, several people from a provincial pharmaceutical factory were rushed to the Hospital at Pyongyang University of Medical Sciences for terrible burns in June last year.

A large area of derma was required for their treatment.

Upon learning this fact, many people, ranging from medical workers to inpatients in the hospital gathered before an operation room, saying that they would donate their derma. Among them were girl nurses who had worked at the hospital only for a week after leaving school.

No extra bonus would be given to them in reward for their donation. And nobody forced them to do so.

After donation, they all said, “I felt glad to offer help.”

Such deeds are commonplace in the DPRK. It is its unique social climate to help and lead one another forward and devote oneself to the good of society and other people under the slogan, “One for all and all for one!”

Worthy of special note is the fact that the young people of this country regard it as the most honourable thing to work for the sake of society and the collective.

Last year countless young volunteers worked for the construction of 10 000 flats in Pyongyang, which drew the attention of the international community.

They were not end-users of the new houses under construction, but they would come to the construction site in the evening after work at their workplaces in daytime. They formed a youth shock brigade of volunteers and worked devotedly till late at night. For them, every one of those who would live there, was a member of their large socialist family and helping the construction of their houses was helping their own kith and kin.

In this context, it would not be so difficult for those in other countries to understand the astounding reality of the country in which young people volunteer to work at the most difficult and challenging sectors true to the call of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

According to a report, more than 10 000 young people volunteered to work at major construction sites and labour-consuming sectors including coal and other mines and farms in 2021 alone. In response to the call of Kim Jong Un, president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, to achieve a fresh progress in the socialist construction, they made up their mind to devote themselves to the prosperity of the country at other strange places away from their dear towns, workplaces and homes.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Inspects Pothong Riverside Terraced Residential District

 

Pyongyang, April 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, inspected the Pothong Riverside Terraced Residential District built in Kyongru-dong, Central District.

Accompanying him were Jo Yong Won, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau and secretary for Organizational Affairs of the WPK Central Committee, Ri Hi Yong, first vice-department director of the WPK Central Committee, and Kim Yo Jong, Hyon Song Wol and Kim Yong Su, vice- department directors of the WPK Central Committee.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was greeted by leading officials of the designing organ and construction unit in field.

The terraced residential district built in Kyongru-dong in a unique way will be homes of working people including labor innovators in various fields, persons of distinguished services, scientists, educators and writers who devote themselves to the Party and the state, reflective of the loving care of Kim Jong Un.

Kim Jong Un, who pays special attention to the provision of more affluent and wonderful living conditions to our people and signal development of the level of civilization in the capital city and the Juche- oriented architecture, mapped out a plan for building a special residential district by harmoniously arranging terraced, many-storied and low-storied dwelling houses and facilities for public service in the best place on the bank of the Pothong River flowing across the city center, a year ago. He then examined a lot of designs and layouts over the past one year and solved every problem arising in the construction with his energetic guidance.

The residential district of unique form built under the direct guidance of Kim Jong Un has successfully been completed to provide the residents with the maximum convenience for their living. Luxury dwelling houses have been built in good harmony with the surrounding environment, and landscaping in the area been improved. As a result, the level of the civilization in the city and scenery of the Pothong riverside have undergone a radical change.

Going around the district for a long time, he said that the builders made a lot of efforts to implement the Party's decision in the past one year, true to the Party's policy on construction, and that a model residential district of new form to which our Party's idea on architectural beauty has been thoroughly applied and wonderful combination of modernity and convenience are ensured was created in the central part of the capital city thanks to the ardent loyalty and labor efforts of the builders.

He said with satisfaction that the Party Central Committee is very pleased over it.

He stressed repeatedly that the experience gained in building the new model residential district in Kyongru-dong is of very important significance in carrying out the immediate task for construction in Pyongyang and in provinces put forward by our Party under its plan to build dwelling houses extensively across the country.

 He called on designing institutions at all levels in Pyongyang and in provinces to keep making exertions to widely introduce standard, achievements and experience gained in such architectural and landscaping designs, and further develop the level of designing theory for all fields to meet the daily increasing demand of our people in living.

The designing institutions and educational organizations at all levels need to focus on making the detailed examination of the world level in landscaping designing in particular and actively introducing landscaping standard and methods to suit to the specific conditions of our country and taking decisive measures for establishing and developing in a unique way the landscaping designing theory of our own style.

He underscored the need for the urban management field and relevant units including designing institutions to take strong measures so as to give scientific and theoretical precedence to landscaping designing for improving the environment in the capital city and seats of provinces, cities and counties across the country, and to do landscaping in the development-oriented way in conformity with the natural and geographical features of relevant regions and with the modern trend.

He gave important teachings about the strategy for the development of the Juche architecture, noting that the construction is an important political work of increasing the overall power of the country and leading our people to socialist civilization of our own style.

He learned about the construction, looking round interior of dwellings of various styles for hours.

Saying that the interior of the houses are convenient for the living of people, he was so pleased to provide again our working people with more wonderful houses.

He told to hand over entrance certificates to those selected in various fields and hold significant completion ceremony before the significant Day of the Sun.

Press Statement of DPRK Foreign Ministry Spokesperson

 

Pyongyang, April 3 (KCNA) -- The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea released the following press statement Sunday:

On April 1, a so-called "human rights resolution" against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) was railroaded through the 49th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK rejects outright the "human rights resolution"-a product of illegal and inhumane hostile policy of the U.S. against the DPRK- condemning it bitterly as a grave infringement upon the sovereignty of our state and a political provocation against it.

As the fair and impartial international society recognize, the anti-DPRK “human rights resolution” put forward by the U.S. and the Western countries every year does not bear any relation to genuine human rights, and it is no more than a highly politicized means of hostility to tarnish the dignified image of the DPRK and to deny the genuine rights and interests of the Korean people.

Rights and interests of the people are given a top priority and regarded as absolute, and the most genuine human rights fully conforming to the ideals and demands of the popular masses are being enjoyed in the DPRK where people-first politics has been applied in the state activities and the overall social life.

All kinds of social evils and acts of institutional human rights violations such as racial discrimination, national chauvinism, violence against women, and violation of children's rights, police violence and gun-related crime are rampant in the U.S. and the Western countries. But they wish to pose as “human rights judges”! It is really the height of deception, hypocrisy, shamelessness and double standard.

 We express serious concern over the fact that UNHRC is now being reduced to a tool of the U.S. and the Western countries for gaining their unjust political ends, oblivious of its inherent mission to reject politicization, selectivity and double standard in the issue of human rights and to contribute to the worldwide protection and promotion of human rights through dialogue and cooperation based on the principles of impartiality and objectivity.

It is natural for the international society to keep a close watch on and flatly oppose and reject the grave development where the human rights issue is misused as an excuse and a guide to infringe upon the sovereignty and interfere in the internal affairs, for an armed invasion and to seek regime change in other countries, falling prey to ulterior political purpose of the U.S. and the Western countries.

Human rights are national sovereignty.

The DPRK will show zero tolerance for hostile acts by the U.S. and its followers, and it will do its level best to safeguard our socialist system and the genuine people’s rights which our people value as their life.

 

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Has Photo Session with Those Who Contributed to Successful Test-Fire of Hwasongpho-17 Type

The venue of the photo session was seething with the great joy and excitement of the participants who were to have a significant photo taken, which will be the one of their lifetime honor, under the loving care of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, amid the blessings of the people across the country. They are filled with the great pride and honor of having produced a core nuclear strike means representing the DPRK strategic forces, another fruition and great creation of self-reliance born of our own efforts in the course of the sacred struggle to sharpen the treasured sword for defending the dignity and sovereignty and peace of the country.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Sends Important Letter to Those Attending First Workshop of Officials in Information Field of WPK

 

Pyongyang, March 29 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, sent an important letter to those attending the first workshop of officials in the information field of the WPK "On Eliminating Formalism and Bringing About a Fundamental Innovation in the Party's Ideological Work" on Monday.

Noting that the workshop is held at a historic time when our dignified and powerful state unfolded a grand plan for its overall development and has demonstrated its great unity and tremendous, underlying strength, the respected Comrade

Kim Jong Un in his letter said:

I extend greetings of enthusiastic encouragement to the participants in the workshop and all other information workers of the Party who have made significant contributions to the great work for bolstering the politico- ideological strength, the foremost power of our Party and social system, exerting efforts to make the Party and the popular masses breathe in one and the same idea.

I would also like to take this opportunity to extend warm militant greetings to the primary information workers across the country who have spared no efforts for the ideological education and transformation of people, always finding themselves among the masses and in the ideological positions of the Juche revolution as well as to other comrades who are striving at such important posts of the Party's ideological front as the fields of the preservation of revolutionary relics, literature and art and media.

The thought-out and bold struggle which our Party and people have been carrying on after the historic 8th Congress of the Party opened up a new victorious phase of bringing about significant changes in succession by courageously advancing in the face of the worst difficulties, and our revolution has finally and confidently reached its higher stage of achieving the comprehensive development of socialist construction.

Despite continued severe hardship and challenges, our revolution is vigorously advancing.

The 4th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Party Central Committee decided to surely guarantee the successful implementation of the new five-year plan set forth at the Party Congress and make substantial progress in improving the people's living standard, and put forward a grand programme for ultimate solution to the socialist rural question.

For our Party constantly holding fast to the Juche theory of giving importance to ideology, the ideological work is most important among its entire works.

The ideology-first principle is just the fundamental key to emerging victorious from difficult situations and a way of revolution peculiar to the WPK. The Party Central Committee attaches the foremost importance to the ideological front in order to propel the victorious advance of the revolution and reliably guarantee it by dint of ideology.

The Party information workers play a very important role in implanting the ideas and policies of the Party Central Committee deep into the mind of officials, Party members and other working people and orienting all their efforts to the one goal of implementing the Party policies and arousing them to attaining it.

Not only the work for patiently and substantially educating all members of society to accept the idea of the Party Central Committee and arm themselves with it, but also huge share of the work for correctly embodying the Party Central Committee's plan and will in the whole field of the revolutionary struggle, socialist construction and social life are carried out through the operation and practice of the Party information field. Particularly important in steadily increasing the might of the single-minded unity of our revolutionary ranks and making the whole country keep strong faith and be full of vim and vigor is the duty of the Party information workers.

The Party Central Committee convened this workshop to awaken all the Party officials to the importance of the ideological work once again and inspire the Party information workers to renewed efforts so that they can display enormous strength in their revolutionary work full of imposing dignity and honor.

It is the noble title awarded to the information workers particularly among all the Party officials that they are called faithful mouthpieces of the Party Central Committee and buglers of the revolution.

Our Party information workers should become powerful loudspeakers and hi-fi amplifiers in conveying and communicating the Party Central Committee's idea and intention down to the lowest unit correctly in time and arousing the entire Party, the whole country and all the people to their materialization. This is the main spirit of the workshop.

Already emphasized is that the Party information field should become a hi-fi amplifier which correctly conveys the Party's idea and intention. The Party Central Committee's aim at the workshop is to further raise the output of those loudspeakers and amplifiers and, in other words, to remarkably enhance the role and might of the Party information field through the workshop.

"Let the Party information workers become powerful loudspeakers and hi-fi amplifiers faithful to the Party Central Committee!", this is a slogan to be upheld by our information workers and the spirit to be fully displayed by them at present.

The main mission of our Party ideological work is to model the entire Party and the whole society on the revolutionary idea of the Party Central Committee. This means, in a word, making the Party Central Committee's idea and intention dominate the struggle and life of all the members of society. In other words, it means fully arming the officials, Party members, other working people and the rising generations with the Party Central Committee's idea and policies before thoroughly and perfectly embodying them in the overall fields of Party building and activities, state affairs and social life.

The cause of modeling the entire Party and the whole society on the revolutionary idea of the Party Central Committee urgently requires a great revolution in the ideological work. Now the revolution and the times demand fresh innovations, bold creation and continual advance, and for this the ideological front should make the first step and bring about fundamental changes as befits its mission of inspiring and leading all changes and development in practice.

Kim Jong Un stressed in the letter that an important matter in improving the Party ideological work is to intensify the theoretical study and the work of disseminating theories.

Noting that the Party building can be done without deviation and the victorious advance of socialism can be guaranteed only when precedence is given to the ideological and theoretical building, he said that to carry forward to completion the revolutionary cause of Juche generation after generation means just the inheritance of ideology and ism and traditions of struggle.

Saying that the political and theoretical circles should be powerful so as to steadily develop in depth the Party's ideological work as required by the revolutionary practice, he indicated the detailed orientation and ways for raising the level and role of the political and theoretical circles.

Noting it is the analysis made by the Party Central Committee at present that the revolution in the Party's ideological work should start in shattering formalism, he set forth the tasks for thoroughly eradicating formalism that remains in the Party's ideological work.

In order to root out formalism, we should, first of all, make Party information workers keep as their lifeline the mission of paramount importance that they are entirely responsible for the ideological and moral life of all the people who live on this land, he said.

Noting that lack of awareness of being masters of the revolution is the ideological basis of formalism, he stressed that the attitude unbecoming for masters should be no longer allowed among Party information workers.

Saying that officials in the information field are the revolutionaries who are directly in charge of the Party's ideological front and the master of our Party's ideological work, he added that the Party information workers should be responsible for the ideological life of the Party members and other working people in their areas and units before the Party and guarantee the mental growth of the rising generations before the country and the revolution.

Noting that if they forget such important mission even a moment, it will leave a vacuum in the brains of the people and break the Party's ideological front and such consequences cannot be undone with anything, he said that the Party information workers should take charge of the ideological education among the people, be aware of their important obligations as professional revolutionaries guiding the ideological remolding and positively find and use the fresh way and the best method for information work and education.

After analyzing the forms of vivid manifestation of formalism in the Party's ideological work and aftermath of them, he stressed that in order to root out formalism remaining in the sphere of the ideological work, it is necessary to make it an iron rule and strict discipline for the Party ideological field to hold fast to the important contents of the ideological work as intended and distributed by the Party Central Committee and conduct effective interactive ideological work.

He emphasized that the theoretical education is the first task for inspiring all members of the society with the revolutionary idea of the Party Central Committee.

He said that it is necessary to make the officials, Party members and other working people and rising generations easily realize the essence, structural system and deep contents of the Juche idea, the guiding ideology of our Party, and explain the theory of the Party's politics in combination with the actual work and life and in a proper and reasonable way so as to make them grasp the Juche idea correctly and theoretically and adopt it as part of their outlook on the world and viewpoint on life.

He noted that the essence of ideological education is the education in the greatness of the Party and the education in the loyalty to it, adding that it would be no more than empty talks to call for modeling the whole society on the monolithic idea without implanting the greatness of the Party in the minds of the officials, Party members and working people and educating them to be faithful to its leadership.

He said that the education in the greatness of the Party and the education in the loyalty to it are inseparable, and the aim of implanting the greatness and exploits of the Party and the leaders in the minds of the officials, Party members and working people is to make them regard the loyalty as their faith and conscience. He noted that only when they are impressed by the greatness of the Party and the leaders through their actual life experience and absolutely follow the Party and the leaders, not just based on the explanation of principles, their loyalty will certainly be honest and firm.

He said that it is necessary to conduct the education methodologically so as to help the officials, Party members and working people fully understand the greatness of the Party.

He said that our Party which keeps the people-first principle as its political idea has made all efforts to stabilize and improve the standard of people's living as soon as possible, adding that even on the harsh conditions, the works for realizing the Party's long-cherished desire for the people were conducted in a bold way and thus valuable fruitions have been attained and the attention of the Party and the state is focused most preferentially on protecting the people's interests and promoting their wellbeing.

It is important to provide the people with a happy and highly-civilized life but it is more important to educate them on being thankful for the benefits of the Party and the state sincerely and striving to repay them, he said.

He stressed the importance of effectively conducting the education through revolutionary relics in the ideological education at present.

He said that ideological degeneration originates from oblivion of history and tradition, and a human being is little short of a corpse if he or she is devoid of mental source, adding that's why he prioritizes the education through revolutionary relics and leadership exploits and emphasizes several times that it should never be neglected.

He noted that it can be said that the education through revolutionary relics and Party's leadership exploits is the roots of our Party's ideological work and that the ideological education originates from it. He said that the education through revolutionary relics and leadership exploits means the education in the revolutionary traditions and the education in the greatness of the leaders and the education in the loyalty to them.

He stressed that it is necessary to courteously furbish the educational bases including revolutionary museums, rooms where revolutionary relics are exhibited, rooms for the education in the revolutionary history and rooms dedicated to the history of units and always pay deep attention to the education through them.

He said that the education in implanting the Party's leadership exploits associated with one's field, unit and area in the minds of the people is a crucial task for every Party official, senior Party official in particular, which should be examined and disseminated by them every morning and evening and be reviewed in strong terms by them on a daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly basis. He added that all the Party officials should regard it as their habit and peculiar daily task.

He stressed that it is necessary to conduct the education in patriotism steadily and effectively.

He said it is necessary to make all the people across the country regard patriotism cherished and embodied by Chairman Kim Jong Il all his life as their viewpoint on life, possess the noble ideological and spiritual qualities of a socialist worker and devote themselves to socialist construction with pure and ardent patriotism.

 He noted that it is needed to make the people's daily life the course of nurturing, cherishing and hardening patriotism, adding that the aim of our Party in providing the rising generations with school uniforms, shoes, schoolbags, notebooks and other school things made by our own efforts at the state's expenses responsibly is to make them feel thankful to the Party and the state from childhood and acquire the nature of valuing their native home, motherland and their own things.

He stressed that the Party information field should understand that the education in patriotism should be neither a lecture nor instillation in any case and only when it helps the people realize and cultivate patriotism in their daily life, can it be possible to train them to be genuine patriots in the era of our state-first principle.

He said that it is essential to positively seek the methodology for bringing patriotism closer to the people's life and work and put it to practical use.

He noted that the Party organizations at all levels should pay attention to preparing various political events with much care and holding them at the highest level so as to make them important occasions for education in patriotism, adding it is an opportunity of great effect to raise the people's awareness to remain faithful to their duty proper to a citizen for their great motherland shining with the august names of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il and emerging victorious under the leadership of the Party while looking up to the national flag and singing the national anthem.

He said that it is necessary to take initiatives in the education in collectivism in close correlation with the education in class awareness and morality on the principle of helping all members of society overcome individualism and egoism and acquire the ideological and moral qualities befitting a socialist human being.

In the 1950s when the spirit of Chollima was created on the debris after the war, people regarded it as their bounden duty, honor and pride to devote themselves to the affairs of worksites and the country, overcoming hardships with confidence in the future though they lived in poverty because of tough economic conditions, he noted, saying that such a sound social trait should be carried forward as our peculiar national custom not only for today but also for the future.

Consciousness that anyone can overcome the difficulties encountered and bring about prosperity and happiness when he or she creates wealth of society by industrious efforts at a factory and a worksite should be implanted, he added.

 Kim Jong Un stressed the need to concentrate the ideological campaign on anti-socialist and non-socialist practice in a minute way.

Saying that mass oppressive offensive and social struggle atmosphere should be raised continuously and methodologically to beat all kinds of negative phenomena that gnaw away at our revolutionary position and crush them without mercy, he noted that the Party information work is a keystone in sweeping away evil spirits of anti-socialism and non-socialism finding their way into the heads of the people.

Officials in the Party information field should be a skilled physician to timely, quickly and correctly give diagnosis and precise prescription for alien ideological factors and phenomena and scalpel and remove the cause of a trouble in time, he said.

He stressed the need to fiercely unleash an information and agitation offensive so as to make the whole country seethe with struggle for achieving a new victory of socialism by implementing the idea and policies of the Party Central Committee.

Revolutionaries of Juche type advocating the theory of giving precedence to ideology should attach importance to the ideological content, when forming a street and building a structure, and make sure that the features of world-level political power and the spiritual development of our times are retained, he said, adding: Visual means like slogans and watchwords are important information and inspiration means and a lever of the ideological work that can never be neglected. The Party information sector should always bear this in mind.

Inspiring slogans and watchwords directly and visibly reflecting the idea and policies of the Party Central Committee should be displayed everywhere, thus making the whole country a collection of slogans and an education field.

 The Information and Publicity Department of the Party Central Committee has to be a control tower of the Party ideological front and put efforts into the work of doing the Party ideological work in a tactical way on a long-term basis, he said, adding that it should take preemptive measures and set up the traits of doing all things in a perfect way so as to defend our revolutionary and ideological position.

All the officials in the Information and Publicity Department of the Party Central Committee should raise their awareness as being masters in charge of the Party ideological front and carry out tasks entrusted to them on the highest level without any defect in practice.

He also called for establishing the strict discipline in the information field throughout the Party, for the Party officials to give priority to the ideological work and set up the traits of active cooperation in the information field.

Saying that in our country where the Juche theory of ideology is embodied under the leadership of the Workers' Party, all the officials should conduct the ideological work characterized by the mind of the people, he noted that they have to motivate the people. He continued that they have to find out and take charge of the work from the stand of assuming responsibilities if they are to help defend and consolidate the Party ideological position.

The leading officials of the Party committees at all levels including the provincial, city and county committees should show deep care for the Party information field work ranging from designing and operation to execution, give their positive opinions and take the lead in solving knotty problems and creating examples, from the firm stand of taking full responsibility for the Party ideological work in their regions, sectors and units.

The working traits of the Party committees should be the ones of orientating the overall work of its departments and officials to contributing to carrying out the ideological revolution and embodying the idea-first principle and solving all problems arising in the Party work through coordinated operation with the Information and Publicity Department, he said.

The officials in the Party information field are doing lots of work, in fact, he said. He spoke highly of them, remarking that our Party's ideological front is being defended thanks to the officials in the information field who render great exertions for the mass education and ideological transformation while burning their hearts with the resolution to prove the worthy of the expectation of the Party and the people although they are pressed for everything.
