RECKLESS REMARKS OF U.S. SECRETARY OF STATE DENOUNCED

Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- The U.S. going reckless in its smear campaign against the DPRK in a bid to get rid of the miserable position it is finding itself due to the total failure in its hostile policy toward the DPRK.

In this regard a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK released a statement on Wednesday.

While visiting south Korea U.S. Secretary of State Kerry ran the whole gamut of invectives against the DPRK on May 18. He blustered that north Korea is increasing military threats by persistently developing nukes and ballistic missiles, it is necessary to escalate international pressure on it to force it to change its behavior and the world community should jointly react against the state making cyber attack.

Kerry went the lengths of pulling up the DPRK supreme headquarters in a bid to tarnish the image of the DPRK and justify the bankrupt "human rights" racket against it.

What Kerry uttered was nothing but the jargon let loose by the loser admitting a total failure of the hostile policy of the Obama Administration towards the DPRK as it was its last-ditch efforts to evade the responsibility for having driven the DPRK-U.S. relations to the worst phase, the spokesman said, and went on:

The U.S. has already been disqualified to talk about dialogue and the nuclear issue due to the anachronistic moves to stifle the DPRK.

The DPRK provided the U.S. with a series of opportunities for realizing the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula in the past period. But the U.S. did not roll back its inveterate hostile policy toward the DPRK and missed all the opportunities.

UNDERWATER TEST-FIRE OF BALLISTIC MISSILE IS LEGITIMATE EXERCISE OF RIGHT TO SELF-DEFENCE: DPRK

Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) --The U.S. and Japanese reactionaries, south Korean puppet authorities and other hostile forces every day let loose invectives against the DPRK over its underwater test-fire of ballistic missile from a strategic submarine. In this regard a spokesman for the Policy Department of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK released a statement clarifying the principled stand of the service personnel and people of the DPRK on Wednesday.

It cannot overlook the sinister aim sought by the hostile forces in taking issue with its legitimate measure to bolster up the self-defence capability as a sovereign state and their provocative behaviors, the statement said, and went on:

The DPRK's underwater test-fire is part of the measures to increase the self-defence capability of its army and people, pursuant to the line of simultaneously developing the two fronts and a new higher level in the development of strategic striking means.

It is long since the DPRK's nuclear striking means have entered the stage of producing smaller nukes and diversifying them.

The DPRK has reached the stage of ensuring the highest precision and intelligence and best accuracy of not only medium-and short-range rockets but long-range ones.

It does not hide this.

This is the DPRK's just measure for bolstering up the capability for self-defence and a legitimate exercise of its sovereignty which it can never give up simply because someone brands it as a "provocation" or demands a "stop" to it.

Now that the U.S. and all other undesirable hostile forces kowtowing to it are persistently "threatening" and "blackmailing" the DPRK and stepping up overtly and covertly their brigandish moves to invade it and "bring down its social system", its service personnel and people all out in the drive for defending the security of the country and dignity of the nation will more dynamically push ahead at increasing speed with the plan for bolstering up the defence capability, undeterred by the moves.

They should no longer dare pull upthe DPRK over all its measures for bolstering up its military muscle for self-defence, terming them "provocation" and "threat."Page 2 of 3

It is the stand of the DPRK not to allow the U.S. and its allies to brand the former's above-said test-fire as a "provocation" and "threat" to regional peace, pursuant to the "resolution" of the UNSC.

This is because the UNSC was reduced to the one that yields to the high-handed and arbitrary practices of the U.S., forgetful of its mission to ensure the global peace and security and its duty prescribed in the UN Charter, and the one which has abandoned itself the principles of respect for sovereignty of other countries and non-interference in their internal affairs after dropping the principle of impartiality.

The U.S. and the Japanese reactionaries, the sworn enemies of the Korean people, the south Korean puppet forces and all other dishonest forces should not forget even a moment that the powerful strike means of the DPRK to defend the dignity and sovereignty of the nation fromthe reckless moves of the aggressors keen to intrude into its inviolable territory, waters and sky and "bring down its social system" have been placed on alert to hit any target not only from their front and flanks but from any place in their rear.

Kim Jong Un Watches Strategic Submarine Underwater Ballistic Missile Test-fire

Pyongyang, May 9 (KCNA) -- There took place an underwater test-fire of Korean-style powerful strategic submarine ballistic missile. The ballistic missile was developed on the personal initiative of Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, and under his meticulous guidance.

Kim Jong Un learned about the tactical and technological specifications of the newly developed ballistic missile and watched its test-fire. As soon as he issued an order to begin the test-fire, a combat alarm was sounded inside the strategic submarine and it submerged up to a depth for firing the ballistic missile.

After a while, the ballistic missile soared into the sky from underwater. The test-fire proved and confirmed that the ballistic missile fired from the submarine fully met the requirements of the latest military science and technology.

He highly praised the officials, scientists and technicians in the field of defence science and a munitions factory for having successfully perfected the technology of firing ballistic missile from the strategic submarine underwater in line with the strategic intention of the Central Committee of the WPK.

He said that the successful test-fire of ballistic missile from Korean-style attack submarine is an eye-opening success as signal as satellite launch. A wonderful gift was presented to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the WPK thanks to the painstaking efforts of the officials, scientists, technicians and workers in the field of defence science and a munitions factory, he noted, extending his thanks to them on behalf of the C.C., the WPK.

He stressed that the acquisition of the technology of firing ballistic missile from a strategic submarine underwater made it possible for the KPA to possess a world-level strategic weapon capable of striking and wiping out in any waters the hostile forces infringing upon the sovereignty and dignity of Songun Korea and conduct any underwater operation.

Kim Jong Un Visits Fish Farm under KPA Unit

Pyongyang, May 11 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, visited the Anbyon Fish Farm under KPA Unit 580.

The fish farm was built in September 1999 on the initiative of leader Kim Jong Il and it was visited by him on April 15 (the Day of the Sun), 2001 and in November, 2011.

Going round various parts of the farm, Kim Jong Un learned in detail about its reconstruction and fish production.

Feasting his eyes on the fishponds and production facilities standing in a crisscrossed manner along the spring water stream, he expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the farm has undergone a complete change to look neat with picturesque environment, turning into a model fish farm and an educational unit of the country.

It is desirable to have a monument depicting the tender-hearted image of Kim Jong Il erected in the compound of the farm, a result of his love for the people, and convey his feats for all ages, he said.

At the farm's combined control room, he watched carefully workers there conduct real-time computer-backed measure and control of temperature, ph value and amount of oxygen in fishponds and monitor the physiological condition of fishes by underwater cameras.

Underlining the need to put the fish farming on a scientific and modern basis in order to keep production going on a high rate, he praised the farm for having established the strict combined management system as intended by the Party.

Seeing a water filter installed in the headstream, he praised scientists and researchers of Kim Chaek University of Technology for having rendered active support to the modernization of the farm including the establishment of its combined management system.

At a hatchery, he said it is admirable that the farm has bred fries necessary for production by its own efforts and supplied them to other units by giving fullest play to its operational capacity. Seeing a gravity-fed fishpond, he said it was built well and there is no free space left in the farm.

He urged the farm to produce in larger quantity tasty and hygienically safe fish with nutritious feed by making the maximum efficient use of existing production capacity.

Calling upon the officials and employees of the farm to play a vanguard role in the development of the country's pisciculture, he said that the Party would provide the farm with necessary vehicles and equipment.

Kim Jong Un Visits Cattle Farm under KPA Unit

Pyongyang, May 11 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, visited the July 18 Cattle Farm under KPA Unit 580.

The cattle farm is a large-scale stock-breeding base built thanks to the loving care of leader Kim Jong Il, who had always worked heart and soul to improve the diet of the service persons and civilians.

Seeing an "Anbyon cow" personally named by Kim Jong Il, Kim Jong Un acquainted himself in detail with its biological characteristics and rearing.

The analysis of domestically-bred "Anbyon cow", in contrast with imported cows, shows that it is a good breed with high economic efficiency in the light of unit feed and weight increment, he noted with pleasure.

It is admirable that the farm bred the cow and established a Korean-style breeding method, he said, urging the farm to set higher goals and intensify the work to breed cows of various good strains.

Then he learned in detail about the management and operation of the farm.

He praised the farm for having done a lot of things by establishing a production cycle of animal husbandry and agriculture and concentrating efforts on pasturage not only to solve the feed problem but also to increase the output of farm products.

He called for turning the farm into an educationally effective model of modernization, scientification and industrialization in stock-breeding and an icon one that shows the development of the country's livestock industry.

Stressing the need to build the structures in the farm including animal sheds and dwelling houses nicely as required by the new century and thus transform the area of the farm into another socialist fairyland, he took a benevolent measure to do so.

He was accompanied by KPA Vice Marshal Hwang Pyong So, director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA.

Kim Jong Un Provides Field Guidance

to February 11 Plant of Ryongsong Machine Complex

Pyongyang, May 7 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, provided field guidance to the February 11 Plant of the Ryongsong Machine Complex.

He looked round the newly remodeled room dedicated to the education in the revolutionary history.

He said that the history of the development of the plant represents the history of the guidance given by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

He underscored the need for the plant to start full-scale serial production of modern machines as early as possible by waging a dynamic drive for bringing their performance to the world's level and thus glorify the leadership exploits of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

He looked round various places of the plant including the processing and assembling shops to learn in detail about the production.

It is something to be proud of that the plant has updated all production processes including boring and milling machines, turning lathes and vertical heat treatment oven by widely applying advanced technology, thereby raising the performance of the existing equipment and their production efficiency and precision rate of machine parts processing, he noted.

The plant is a model to be followed by the whole country in updating aging equipment and making an effective use of them, he said, calling upon other units to earnestly learn from its experience.

Noting that the plant has made a lot of achievements in the drive to contrive and manufacture latest machines, he repeatedly expressed satisfaction, saying: New type modern machines produced by the plant look very nice. This alone proves that the machine-building industry of the country has made a great leap forward in recent years.

Different sectors are now requiring more modern machines, he said, instructing the plant to meticulously organize the production to unfailingly carry out its national economic plan and, at the same time, work hard to perfectly conclude the work for developing new products at the earliest possible date.

He enjoyed an art performance given by the itinerant art squad of the plant. Its performance represents a dynamic political work, he said, adding that every number of its repertoire correctly reflected the party's policies and it was pervaded with the love for the plant and truthfully depicted the revolutionary and militant character of its workers.

He said that while going round the plant, he could learn well about the loyalty of its workers who trusted and followed the party and the leaders only in good or bad days. He expressed conviction that the party would as always remain strong and emerge victorious thanks to such workers as those of the plant.

He had a photo session with the labor innovators, expressing belief that the workers of the plant would make a positive contribution to developing the nation's machine-building industry.

Kim Jong Un and His Creative Mode

A great transformation is taking place in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, to the wonder and admiration of the international community.

Then what are the attributes that define the political mode its supreme leader Kim Jong Un pursues in leading his people to build a thriving socialist country?

First, he demands that everything they create go beyond the global standards.

To cite an example, he takes an innovative and enterprising approach to architecture. The newly built edifices that retain their characteristic features have reached the highest standards in all aspects, ranging from design and building work to content and style—the Masikryong Ski Resort, Munsu Water Park, apartment blocks for the educationists at Kim Il Sung University and Kim Chaek University of Technology, Wisong Scientists Dwelling District, Yonphung Scientists Holiday Camp, Songdowon International Children’s Camp, and Pyongyang Baby Home and Orphanage. Excellent in utility and artistic beauty and giving precedence to convenience and aesthetic tastes, these structures epitomize Kim Jong Un’s criteria for civilization and creation.

There is a lot more to say about the innovative thinking of the Korean leader who strives to explore new ideas with a global vision, regardless of the set formulae and stereotyped patterns.

Looking round the gorgeous Yonphung Scientists Holiday Camp, he said that those in the fields of scientific research and design should keep abreast of breakthroughs in contemporary architecture, adding that they should make strenuous efforts to develop recyclable and natural energy resources.

Second, the youngest leader in the world sees to it that every project is completed at a single stretch in the shortest possible period.

Construction of the Masikryong Ski Resort is a good example. He made a resolve to finish the project in one year though the US and its vassal forces were clamouring that the DPRK could not make it even after a decade. All the service personnel and people turned out in hearty response to his call for creating the “Masikryong speed.” On the strength of working together they went against all odds to conquer the primeval forests. On a vast area of land sprang up modern buildings in a matter of one year, and the builders vowed that they could take responsibility for their safety and guarantee their absolute quality for all eternity.

There are other examples; the Songdowon International Children’s Camp was renovated in a little more than five months, the Yonphung Scientists Holiday Camp built in four months, and the Wisong Scientists Dwelling District laid out in seven months. The rapidly changing appearance of the country strikes the world with admiration.

True to their leader’s appeal to beat the world at the speed of Korea, the people are making a quantum leap and effecting innovations in their respective fields.

Third, the Korean leader’s way of thinking is big and audacious. Build structures as monumental edifices—this is a principle he maintains in construction.

He gave instructions on 113 formation plans for the construction of the Munsu Water Park on the bank of the Taedong River, and he had a huge sum invested for the construction projects such as the Songdowon International Children’s Camp, Pyongyang Baby Home and Orphanage, and apartment blocks for scientists and educationists.

Make everything impeccable for the benefit of the people and no expense should be spared if it is for children, scientists and educationists—this is his “calculating method.”

It is not that his attention is restricted to certain sectors and units; he shows close concern for all the sectors and people of the country.

After the projects for the Songdowon International Children’s Camp and Pyongyang Baby Home and Orphanage were over, he took specific measures to refurbish other children’s camps and orphan’s primary and secondary schools in different parts of the country. Also concerned about the elderly with no one to support, he had a fishery station set up exclusively to provide them with fish on a daily basis, just as he did for parentless children across the country.

Following the construction of the apartment blocks for the educationists at Kim Il Sung University, he had similar ones for those at Kim Chaek University of Technology built in the shape of sailboats on the bank of the Taedong River. Now the construction of the Mirae Scientists Street is going full steam ahead in the nearby area.

The projects for the Munsu Water Park, Mirim Riding Club and Masikryong Ski Resort, all undertaken consecutively, were completed under his bold plan.  

In February he had a bird’s-eye view of the construction site of the Mirae Scientists Street on board his official plane in order to map out a plan to build Pyongyang into a world-class city.

In other parts of the country the people’s dreams and ideals are coming true according to his innovative plan—the Sepho area being transformed into a big livestock farming base, the multi-tier hydropower stations on the Chongchon River nearing completion and the Kosan Fruit Farm showing off a sea of apple trees.

Having already attained a powerful-nation status politico-ideologically, militarily and in outer space exploration, the Korean people now make redoubled efforts to develop theirs into an economic giant and a sports power. Under Kim Jong Un’s sagacious leadership the DPRK will become a thriving socialist country in the near future. 

National Aerospace Development Administration Clarifies Its Principled Stand

Pyongyang, May 8 (KCNA) -- Space development represents an indomitable soul of Juche Korea, ardent desire for prosperity and an expression of inexhaustible strength to outpace the world. The United States and the undesirable hostile forces led by it cursed for their injustice and ill nature are challenging the fair public opinion with their sheer sophism and far-fetched assertions. They claim that the construction of the satellite control centre in the DPRK is "part of the preparations to fire ballistic missiles soon", "provocation disturbing global peace and security" and "an act of escalating confrontation with the international community". They have gone the lengths of letting loose of a litany of rubbish that "the capability to control satellite launching pad precisely means capability to control nuclear delivery means" and the DPRK is set to use it as "a card for negotiations with the U.S." They are steeped in such inveterate repugnance, persecution mania and practice of making profound confusing of right and wrong that they shout hoarse that the above-said center is a facility to command long-range ballistic missile and "a camouflaged facility" for developing missiles and it is subject to new sanctions of the UN. A spokesman for the National Aerospace Development Administration of the DPRK in a statement clarified the following principled stand: 1. No one, be he or she, should any longer misinterpret the entirely just space development of the DPRK and float wild rumors about it. It is an important project being undertaken by scientists, technicians and workers of the DPRK for dignity and self-esteem of the nation to break through the cutting edge in the field of space development. If the U.S. and its allies, the undesirable forces, persistently vociferate about the center, refusing to face up to the reality, this will only sound like a dog's barking and the desperate bid they make, wasting time, will be little short of crazy efforts of rabid dogs. 2. It is the invariable stand of the DPRK to continue launching satellites of Juche Korea for peaceful purposes in the designated place when necessary. It is entirely an independent right of the DPRK to launch precious satellites manufactured by its own efforts and technology. No matter who dares grumble and no matter how all hostile forces challenge the launch, satellites of Juche Korea will soar into the space one after another at the time and place designated and decided by the supreme leadership of the Korean revolution. 3. The high dignity of the DPRK as a satellite manufacturer and launcher will be exalted as the days go by, regardless of whether it is recognized or not. Space development for peaceful purposes is a legitimate right of Songun Korea chosen by its party, army and people. The dignified status of the DPRK as a satellite manufacturer and launcher will never change no matter how desperately the U.S. and other hostile forces may deny. Therefore, the space development for peaceful purposes being pushed forward by the DPRK according to its long-term goal and plan is not the one to be abandoned due to others' opposition. The DPRK re-clarifies that its satellites will more dynamically soar into the space in succession, shattering the reckless moves of all the dishonest hostile forces in the indomitable spirit of the resourceful Korean nation.

Press Statement of the Permanent Mission of the Democratic

People's Republic of Korea to the United Nations

New York, 1 May 2015

The Permanent Mission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK) to the United Nations issues the following Press Statement with regard to the “International Symposium on Human Rights Violations Including Abductions by North Korea” to be hosted by Japan on 5 May 2015 in New York.

Japan has been deliberately escalating “human rights” campaign against the DPRK proceeding from its own heinous political purpose while taking sides with the US hostile policy against the DPRK.

It engaged in sponsoring and forcibly adopting the anti-DPRK human rights resolutions in the 69th session of the UN General Assembly last year and in the 28th session of UN Human Rights Council this year. It also has been holding various symposiums in an attempt to deceive the people of the world by drawing attention to the so-called “abduction” and “human rights” issues of the DPRK.

As for the “abduction issue”, it has already been completely resolved long time ago with the return of all survivors and families of the Japanese abductees and the presentation of relevant evidence materials regarding those who had died.

Notwithstanding this previous position, we expressed our willingness to solve ultimately all pending issues relating to the victims of abduction as well as those Japanese people who had lived in the DPRK by making a comprehensive and overall investigation, at the DPRK-Japan Stockholm talk in May 2014. We have been carrying out the Agreement in good faith in conformity with the principle of “Action to Action”.

On the contrary, Japanese government has abandoned the Agreement and tries to globalize the “human rights” issue with its own ulterior political purpose.

On the occasion of 70th anniversary of the foundation of the United Nations this year, Japan has embarked on the operation to completely veil its past crimes against humanity including the sexual slavery by Japanese imperial army, which required the Japanese authorities to invent strategy to mislead and deceive the public opinion to convince the world.

The recent remarks made by the Japanese authorities prove the above fact. They deny in vicious manner the expressions of recognition of the Japanese past anti-humanity crime and apology thereof.

Abe who just visited the United States again rubbed salt with the life-long bitter wounds of the victims of sexual slavery by labeling them as victims of “human trafficking.”

Furthermore, they have recently committed unprecedented encroachment on the state sovereignty of the DPRK by forcibly searching the houses of the leading officials of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan who are deputies to the Supreme People’s Assembly of the DPRK.

Meanwhile, Japan, the defeated and enemy country, is making desperate efforts to become a permanent member state of the UN Security Council.

All the acts perpetrated by the Japanese authorities behind the “human rights” issue of the DPRK in the forefront are based on their vicious aims to erase and bury the Japanese past crimes against humanity at any cost.

Against this backdrop, the Permanent Mission of the DPRK to the United Nations strongly denounces and rejects the so-called “Symposium” to be hosted by Japan.

The more the hostile forces including Japan become desperate in their attempt to smear the dignity of our people and sabotage our system under the disguise of “human rights issues”, the stronger our socialist system will grow and the dignity of our people become more glorious by the Songun policy coupled with the line of promoting simultaneous development.

KCNA Commentary Terms U.S.-led Human Rights Campaign against DPRK Counterproductive

Pyongyang, May 7 (KCNA) -- Recently, the U.S., Japan and the south Korean puppet regime are going busy sponsoring anti-DPRK "human rights" farces such as the "week of freedom in north Korea", hearing and seminar in the U.S. There, the "special envoy for human rights issue in north Korea" of the U.S. Department of State cried out for ratcheting up pressure upon the DPRK over its "human rights issue" and leading the thinking of its citizens to a change through "Free North Korea Radio" and information media. The Japan minister in charge of the "abduction issue", supporting the establishment of a UN "office for human rights in the north", talked rubbish that it is necessary for the UNSC to "continue discussing the human rights issue in north Korea." The south Korean puppet regime has also gone reckless, taking advantage of the U.S.-led human rights racket against the DPRK. This campaign should never be overlooked as it is part of the hostile forces' reckless moves to intensify the attack against the DPRK over its non-existent human rights issue. This campaign is the most vivid manifestation of the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK as it is aimed at bringing down its socialist system centered on the popular masses. The socialist system was chosen by them and they deem it dearer than their lives. The U.S. scenario was clearly evidenced by the fact that the secretary general of the "Commission for Human Rights in North Korea" underlined the need for the U.S. government to let the UN and governments of various countries join in dealing with the "human rights issue in north Korea." To seek the total collapse of the socialist system in the DPRK through an "all-out offensive" is the pivot of Washington's hostile policy towards the former.

The U.S. scenario to internationalize the human rights campaign against the DPRK is, in essence, a hideous fascist dictatorial one not to recognize its political mode and social system but to transform them as required by the former only. In the final analysis, it is an act of destroying the foundation of the mechanism for guaranteeing human rights established by the international community. All the charades recently staged in the U.S., the worst human rights abuser, are no more than political cartoons designed to falsify truth and pull the wool over the eyes of the world people with lies and fabrications. Tragedy is that the U.S. and its allies are recklessly behaving, utterly unaware of the consequences to be entailed by the above-said racket. They had better face up to the stark reality that the escalating racket against the DPRK would only harden the Korean people's faith in socialism and their will to firmly defend it. Their escalating pressure upon the DPRK would only compel it to take tougher counteraction to foil it. 

COMMAND OF KPA IN SOUTHWESTERN SECTOR OF FRONT ISSUES EMERGENCY SPECIAL WARNING

Pyongyang, May 8 (KCNA) -- The warmongers of the south Korean puppet military have recently reached the height in their provocative hysteria in the hotspot waters of the West Sea of Korea.

They committed military provocations by infiltrating a total of 17 speedboats of the puppet navy two-three times every day deep into the territorial waters of the DPRK from May 1 to 7. A total of five speedboats of the puppet navy intruded into the territorial waters of the DPRK several times from 06:30 to 13:50 on April 26.

The intrusions were made under the pretext of "intercepting fishing boats" of a third country but its ulterior purpose was to "defend the northern limit line", the illegal line.

Such reckless intrusions are escalating in the hotspot waters in the overall southwest sea including Paekryong, Taechong and Yonphyong Islands.

These naval intrusions timed to coincide with the leaflet scattering operations being conducted openly on the whole front are lashing the service personnel of the Korean People's Army in the southwestern sector of the front into a great fury.

In view of the prevailing situation, the command of the KPA in the southwestern sector of the front made public the following emergency special warning on Friday upon authorization:

1. From this moment, it will make a sighting strike without any prior warning at any warship of the south Korean puppet navy intruding into the extension of demarcation line in the hotspot of the West Sea of Korea.
