Kim Jong Un Watches Men's Soccer Finals of Sports Games
    Pyongyang, April 29 (KCNA) -- There took place a final match of men's premier soccer teams at Kim Il Sung Stadium Monday as part of the Mangyongdae Prize Sports Games. It was played by the Rimyongsu Team and the Amnokgang Team.
    The dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un appeared in the tribune of honor together with Ri Sol Ju.
    Among the spectators were Choe Ryong Hae, Jang Song Thaek, Hyon Yong Chol, Kim Ki Nam, Choe Thae Bok, Kim Yang Gon, Kim Yong Il, Kim Phyong Hae, Kwak Pom Gi, Mun Kyong Dok, Ju Kyu Chang, Choe Pu Il and Kim Tong Il, and members of the State Physical Culture and Sports Guidance Commission, officials of the party and armed forces organs, ministries and national institutions, those in the sports field, sportspersons, fans and Pyongyangites.
    The two teams advanced into the finals after proving successful at the men's premier soccer league matches. They played good games, displaying high technique they have cultivated in day-to-day trainings.
    The Rimyongsu Team took the initiative from the beginning according to its tactics and made hot attacks.
    In the first half the players of the Rimyongsu Team enjoyed 2:0 lead through nice heading and shooting.
    In the second half the Amnokgang Team players succeeded in scoring a goal through skillful passes and hot attack.
    The game ended 2:1 for the Rimyongsu Team.
    Kim Jong Un congratulated the footballers of both teams on playing a good match, expressing great satisfaction with their high technique.
    On the same day he met with players who won gold medals at the recent international games including Kim Kum Ok, Yang Kyong Il, Ri Se Gwang, Hwang Ryong Hak, Pak Yong Mi, Hong Kuk Hyon, Ri Su Yon, Kwon Yong Gwang and Pak Jong Ju, a coach and physical culture and sports guidance officials.
    On hand were Pak Pong Ju, Choe Ryong Hae, Jang Song Thaek, Hyon Yong Chol, Kim Kyok Sik, Kim Ki Nam, Choe Thae Bok, Kim Yang Gon, Kim Yong Il, Kim Phyong Hae, Kwak Pom Gi, Mun Kyong Dok and Choe Pu Il, and members of the State Physical Culture and Sports Guidance Commission.
    Shaking hands of the players, coach and physical culture and sports guidance officials one by one, he highly praised them for proving successful at the recent international games and instilling the conviction of victory and optimism into the service personnel and people of the DPRK dynamically pushing forward the building of a thriving socialist nation despite harsh sanctions and strong pressure of the enemies.
    He expressed his belief that sports persons and coaches would undergo more intensive trainings to consolidate the successes achieved and fully demonstrate the honor of the country with gold medals at international games. -0-


Kim Jong Un Visits Yanggakdo Football Stadium
    Pyongyang, April 29 (KCNA) -- The dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un looked round the Yanggakdo Football Stadium, together with Ri Sol Ju.
    The more than 30 000-seater stadium was built in May, 1989 to match the beautiful scenery of Yanggak Islet.
    By successfully hosting international and domestic matches in the past the stadium has made a positive contribution to developing the nation's sports and boosting the friendship with various countries.
    Kim Jong Un visited the stadium with a plan to radically remodel the stadium as required by the new century. He dropped in at the room dedicated to its history.
    Saying President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il were present at the ceremony for the completion of the stadium, Kim Jong Un recollected with deep emotion the undying exploits they performed for the development of the Juche-based physical culture and sports.
    Looking round various parts of the stadium, he specified tasks and ways for carrying out the project.
    He said it is the intention of the Workers' Party of Korea to turn the stadium into a football stadium which can represent stadiums of such type across the country as required by the new century.
    Indicating in detail the orientation and ways for remodeling the stadium, he formed a strong construction unit capable of carrying out the project in a brief span of time.
    To develop physical culture and sports is an important work to augment the national power in every way, demonstrate the indomitable spirit and dignity of Songun Korea before the world and let all the service personnel and people dynamically step up the building of a thriving socialist nation full of national pride and self-esteem, he said.
    He expressed expectation and belief that the relevant fields would successfully remodel the stadium as a football stadium to be impeccable in any aspect.

KPA Ceremony Marks Founding Anniversary
    Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- A ceremony of the Korean People's Army (KPA) took place at the plaza of the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun Thursday, 81st anniversary of the KPA.
    Present at the tribune of honor was Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission and Supreme Commander of the KPA.
    Also present there were Choe Ryong Hae, Jang Song Thaek, Hyon Yong Chol, Kim Kyok Sik, Pak To Chun, Kim Yong Chun, Ri Yong Mu, O Kuk Ryol, Hyon Chol Hae, Kim Won Hong, Ju Kyu Chang, Kim Chang Sop, Choe Pu Il, Ri Pyong Sam and other members of the Central Military Commission of the WPK, members of the NDC of the DPRK and KPA commanding officers.

    KPA Vice Marshal Choe Ryong Hae, director of the KPA General Political Bureau, who is also member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the C.C., the WPK, made the first speech to pay respects to President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and pledge loyalty to the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, Supreme Commander.
    The speaker said that the 80 odd year-long history of the KPA is one of glory in which it has steadily grown stronger as the main force for accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche under the care of the peerlessly great men of Mt. Paektu and one of victory and feats in which it met every vicious challenge and shattered war provocation moves of the enemies and reliably defended the party, the leader, country and people.
    He expressed the pledge of all the service personnel to carry to completion the revolutionary cause of Juche that was started with arms in the forests of Mt. Paektu by taking the lead in upholding the leadership of the Supreme Commander as instructed by the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.
    Naval Commander Kim Myong Sik said that even though the U.S. imperialist aggressors try to browbeat the DPRK with super-large carriers and nuclear-powered submarines, they will never evade the fate of the U.S. heavy cruiser Baltimore, which was buried at sea off Jumunjin during the last Korean War, by the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK equipped with ultra-modern strike means.
    Seamen waiting for the time of a dueling battle will send to the bottom of the sea all the ships of aggressors, once ordered, and turn the South Sea of Korea into the burial sea of the enemies, he said.
    Air and Anti-air Force Commander Ri Pyong Chol said that the men of his force are waiting for a final attack order to put an end to the enemies, with firm determination to devotedly safeguard the Party Central Committee headed by Kim Jong Un and the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun.
    The flying corps of a-match-for-a hundred stalwart pilots, once given a sortie order, will load nuclear bombs, instead of fuel for return, and storm enemy strongholds to blow them up, he said.

Banquet Given to Celebrate KPA
    Pyongyang, April 25 (KCNA) -- The National Defence Commission of the DPRK gave a banquet at the Mokran House on Thursday, the 81st anniversary of the Korean People's Army.
    Present there was Marshal Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the KPA.
    Also present there were Kim Yong Nam, Pak Pong Ju, Choe Ryong Hae and other senior party, army and state officials, members of the WPK Central Military Commission and the NDC of the DPRK, commanding officers of the KPA, officials of the party and armed forces organs, ministries and national institutions and service personnel of the KPA and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces.
    Present there on invitation were diplomatic envoys of foreign countries and military attaches of foreign embassies here and their spouses.
    Prior to the banquet, a performance was given by the Moranbong Band.
    Jang Song Thaek, vice-chairman of the NDC of the DPRK, made a toast at the banquet.
    At the significant place where he looked back upon the 80 odd year-long history of the KPA, he paid highest tribute to the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il who strengthened the KPA into the matchless revolutionary army and led it to the road of victory and glory, breathing with arms all their lives.
    Upon the authorization of Marshal Kim Jong Un, supreme leader of our party and people and supreme commander of the KPA, he warmly congratulated the service personnel defending the sky, land and seas of the country as firm as a rock and all the people dynamically struggling to build a thriving nation.
    He noted that the revolutionary armed forces are ushering in the greatest heyday of their development as they are holding Kim Jong Un, who is identical to the Generalissimos, in high esteem as supreme commander.
    He stressed the need to steadily bolster nuclear force for self-defence both in quality and quantity and perform new miracles and feats in building a thriving socialist nation in the spirit of the historic March, 2013 Plenary Meeting of the Central Committee of the WPK. 




Kim Jong Un Visits Haedanghwa Service Complex near Its Inauguration
    Pyongyang, April 27 (KCNA) -- The dear respected Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, visited the Haedanghwa Service Complex near its inauguration together with Ri Sol Ju.
    The service complex which made its appearance on the picturesque bank of the River Taedong is a multi-function service complex with modern catering and welfare and service facilities.
    He went round a parking lot in the basement capable of accommodating dozens of cars at a time before entering the lobby on the ground floor.
    He said he was pleased to see the completed complex, adding that he appreciated its design and construction after examining the information on it presented to him by the relevant field.
    He looked round the shop and various dining rooms on the ground and first floors to learn in detail about their construction and service plan.
    He highly praised the builders for constructing not only the shop but the dining rooms to suit their nature and meet the requirements of formative art.
    He also dropped in at the restaurant serving various kinds of roast meat and seafood.
    He said cooking is a science and arts, urging the cookers to steadily improve their skills and display creative ingenuity to serve customers with varieties of tasty and highly nutritive dishes.
    He had a photo taken with them, expressing hope that they would fulfill their mission as faithful servants of the people.
    Then he went up to the second and third floors to see the public bath, wading pool, barber's, beauty salon, fitness hall, table-tennis hall, billiard room and other welfare and service and gyms.
    He personally checked the temperature of water at the bath and learnt about service provided at a face treatment room. He was pleased to see the wading pool. He was also pleased to go round various saunas built with peculiar building materials such as halite, agate and yellow earth.
    He learnt in detail about what kinds of sports apparatuses are there in the fitness hall and table-tennis hall. Watching the clock in the shape of billiard balls and billiard table on a wall of the billiard room, he praised the builders for having constructed the room in such a perfect manner that everything there is impeccable.
    He looked round an e-reading room where visitors can get common sense about cooking, and practice and lecture rooms on the fourth floor.
    He said that a relevant field should systematically send various data and videos on cooking to the e-reading room.
    He stressed the need to supply a sufficient quantity of foodstuff necessary for cooking practice so that apprentices may acquire workable knowledge, saying that theory is not enough to acquire cooking skill.
    He went round the circular coffee shop on the fifth floor to acquaint himself in detail with its service plan.
    It is the firm resolution of the WPK to enable the Korean people, the best in the world, to fully enjoy wealth and glory under socialism, without tightening their belts again, he noted, underlining the need to build more modern service centers such as the Haedanghwa Service Complex impeccable in any aspect.
