Ceremony of Completion of War Martyrs Cemetery Held in Presence of Kim Jong Un

CEREMONY OF COMPLETION OF WAR MARTYRS CEMETERY HELD IN PRESENCE OF KIM JONG UN

    Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- The Fatherland Liberation War Martyrs Cemetery was successfully built in Pyongyang on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.

There stands a monument bearing President Kim Il Sung's proposition at the cemetery. It reads: "Heroic feats and undying exploits performed by the service personnel of the People's Army in the Fatherland Liberation War will always remain in the revolutionary history of our people in golden letters and they will be conveyed down through generations. Kim Il Sung."

The cemetery consists of the gatepost built in a peculiar style on the basis of formative art around the Memorial Tower of the People's Army Martyrs, wreath-laying stand "Soul of Heroes", monument to a poem dedicated to hero soldiers and groups of sculptures. Remains of at least 500 martyrs are entombed in the cemetery. A solemn ceremony was held on Thursday in the presence of the dear respected Kim Jong Un.

Present there were Pak Pong Ju, Choe Ryong Hae and other senior officials of the party, state and army, delegates of war veterans, officials of the party, armed forces and power bodies, social organizations, ministries and national institutions, families of martyrs, service personnel of the Korean People's Army and the Korean People's Internal Security Forces, merited persons, citizens, overseas Korean delegations and Koreans from abroad and the chief of the Pyongyang mission of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front.

Present there on invitation were diplomatic envoys of various countries and representatives of international bodies, foreign delegations, delegates and guests staying here to participate in the celebrations of the 60th war victory anniversary. Kim Ki Nam, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea Central Committee, declared the ceremony of the completion opened. Kim Jong Un cut the tape to inaugurate the cemetery.  A wreath in the name of Kim Jong Un was laid on the wreath-laying stand.

Thereafter, the ceremony was followed by a wreath in the joint name of the C.C., WPK and the Central Military Commission of the WPK and the DPRK National Defence Commission, the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly and Cabinet of the DPRK. A wreath in the name of all the Koreans was also laid there.

All the participants paid high respects for the martyrs. Kim Jong Un went round the cemetery together with senior officials of the party, state and army, delegates of war veterans, diplomatic envoys of various countries and representatives of international bodies, foreign delegations, delegates and guests and overseas Koreans.

KIM JONG UN MEETS SYRIAN DELEGATION

    Pyongyang, July 24 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, received the delegation of the Syrian Arab Republic led by Abdullah al-Ahmar, deputy general secretary of the Syria's Baath Arab Socialist Party, on Wednesday.

    The delegation is visiting the DPRK to participate in the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the Korean people's victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.   Present there were the members of the delegation and Haissam Saad, charge d' affaires ad interim of the Syrian embassy here. Kim Ki Nam and Kim Yang Gon, secretaries of the Central Committee of the WPK, and Kim Kye Gwan, first vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, were present there. Kim Jong Un cordially met with the Syrian guests and had a talk with them. The deputy general secretary conveyed warm greetings of Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad to Kim Jong Un.

He, on behalf of President Bashar Al-Assad and the Syrian people, offered warmest congratulations to Marshal Kim Jong Un and the friendly Korean people on the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War and expressed best wishes for Kim Jong Un's good health and happiness and for the Korean people's success in the efforts to build a thriving nation. He also expressed belief that the relations of friendship and cooperation between the Syrian Arab Republic and the DPRK would continue growing in the interests of the two peoples.

Kim Jong Un warmly welcomed the delegation, which made a long trip to come to the DPRK for the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the war and extended warm greetings to President Bashar Al-Assad and the Syrian people.
Saying he was pleased to meet with the deputy general secretary, who was received by President Kim Il Sung several times, Kim Jong Un noted it is a great encouragement to the Korean people that the party and government of Syria dispatched the delegation to the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the war.

He exchanged with the guests views on the issue of boosting the bilateral relations and other issues of mutual concern including the regional situation.
The conversation proceeded in a friendly and amicable atmosphere.
Kim Jong Un was presented with a gift by the deputy general secretary. He expressed deep thanks for the gift. -0-

KIM JONG UN MEETS DELEGATION OF PRC

    Pyongyang, July 25 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, received the delegation of the People's Republic of China (PRC) led by Li Yuanchao, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and vice-president of the PRC, on Thursday.

The delegation is visiting the DPRK to participate in the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the great Fatherland Liberation War.
Present there were Zhang Yesui, executive vice-minister of Foreign Affairs, Jia Tingan, deputy director of the General Political Department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, Chen Fengxiang, deputy head of the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, Bing Zhigang, vice-governor of the Liaoning Provincial People's Government, Chen Weigen, vice-governor of the Jilin Provincial People's Government, and Liu Hongcai, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK, who are members of the delegation.
    Kim Kye Gwan, first vice-minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK, was present there. Kim Jong Un received Li Yuanchao and members of the delegation and had a conversation with them.

    Li Yuanchao conveyed the warm greetings and a verbal message of Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the CPC and president of the PRC, to Kim Jong Un. Expressing thanks to Kim Jong Un for receiving the delegation, though he is very busy leading the struggle for building a thriving nation, Li Yuanchao extended warmest congratulations to the Korean people who are greeting the significant July 27 on behalf of the Chinese party and government.
    He said that the delegation came to the DPRK with a mission to preserve and glorify down through generations the blood-sealed militant friendship between the armies and peoples of the two countries.

The Chinese party and government are rejoiced over the great achievements made by the Korean people in their efforts for building a thriving socialist nation under the leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un, true to the behests of leader Kim Jong Il, he said, adding: The two countries are the friendly neighbors. It is the consistent policy of the Chinese party and government to steadily consolidate the traditional Sino-DPRK friendly and cooperative relations.

    The Chinese party and government set great store by the Sino-DPRK friendly relations provided and cultivated by the elder generation of the two parties and countries and the new collective leadership of the CPC together with the party and government of the DPRK will respect and trust each other and put spurs to the development of the Sino-DPRK friendly relations through friendly exchange and cooperation.
    Kim Jong Un warmly welcomed the delegation's visit to the DPRK and extended warm greetings to the collective leadership of the CPC with Xi Jinping as its general secretary and the Chinese people. He expressed thanks to the Chinese party and government for dispatching the delegation of the People's Republic of China to the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.

    The army and people of the DPRK will always remember the disinterested internationalist assistance rendered by the Chinese party, government and people to the Korean people during the past Fatherland Liberation War and the exploits the fighters of the Chinese People's Volunteers performed in the war, he noted.

It is the steadfast will of the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people to consolidate the traditional DPRK-China friendship down through generations, he said, expressing belief that the invincible vitality of this friendship, the common treasure of the two peoples, would be more powerfully demonstrated in the future thanks to the joint efforts of both sides in the future.

He exchanged with the guests views on the issue of boosting the relations between the two countries and the matter of ensuring peace and security in Northeast Asia and the world and other issues of mutual concern. The conversation proceeded in a friendly and amicable atmosphere. Kim Jong Un was presented with a gift of best wishes by Li Yuanchao. He expressed thanks for this and had a photo session with all members of the delegation and staff members of the Chinese embassy here.
