KIM JONG UN PROVIDES FIELD GUIDANCE TO MAY 11 FACTORY


    Pyongyang, August 10 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, provided field guidance to the May 11 Factory.
    Kim Jong Un looked round different places of the factory including assembling shop.
    He learned in detail about the performance, quality and packing of "Arirang" hand phone being made at this factory.
    He highly appreciated the creative ingenuity and patriotic enthusiasm with which the officials and employees of the factory laid a solid foundation for mass-producing hand phones by building a new modern hand phone production process.
    He praised them for developing an application program in Korean style which provides the best convenience to the users while strictly guaranteeing security.
    After learning about the performance of a touch hand phone, he said that a hand phone is convenient for its user when that part of the phone is sensitive.
    He noted that these hand phones will be very convenient for their users as their camera function has high pixels.
    After being told that "Arirang" hand phones which the factory started producing a few days ago are high in demand among people, he said he was also pleased as they are liked by people.
    Looking at the trademark "Arirang" inscribed on the hand phone, he noted that mass-production of goods with DPRK trademark can instill national pride and self-respect into the Korean people.
    How nice to see hand phones being successfully produced with indigenous technology, he said, adding it is of educational significance in making people love Korean things.
    He said that only when the quality of products is improved while boosting their production, people will like home-made things and they will be in high demand.
    He advanced tasks to be fulfilled by the factory.

KIM JONG UN VISITS CONSTRUCTION SITE OF APARTMENT HOUSES FOR SCIENTISTS OF KIM IL SUNG UNIVERSITY
    Pyongyang, August 13 (KCNA) -- Marshal Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, visited the construction site of apartment houses for scientists of Kim Il Sung University.
    He was accompanied by Choe Thae Bok, Ri Jae Il, Pak Thae Song and Ma Won Chun.
    44 storied and 36 storied modern apartment houses for scientists now under construction near the Ryonghung Intersection of Pyongyang are gifts to be provided by Kim Jong Un to teachers and researchers of Kim Il Sung University.
    Going round the construction site, he acquainted himself in detail with the progress made in the construction.
    He clarified the issues to be settled in building skyscraping apartment houses, saying that it is nice and stable to see when welfare service facilities are built on the ground floor on the basis of calculation of the height of skyscraping apartment houses.
    He went round flat No. 1 on the second floor of apartment house No. 2.
    He was very pleased that it is very good to see the entrance between corridor and vestibule built in an arch style and decorated with a pillar and they look peculiar. Going round living rooms, kitchen and dining room, he said he liked them as they have been constructed well.
    He learned in detail about the production of furniture for all households. He underscored the need to provide TV sets to scientists moving to new flats.
    A primary attention should be paid to ensuring the quality in the construction of apartment houses of scientists, he said, adding that the flats built at the best level should be provided to the scientists so that they may not require any additional job when moving to them.
    Noting that the teachers who have dedicated their lives to bringing up the rising generation and training talents of the country are patriots and there is nothing to spare for them, he said it is the intention of the party to build more such apartment houses for teachers and researchers in the future.
    It is an important work related to the future of the country to take care of every aspect of the living of teachers and researchers, he said, adding when they are provided with nice apartment houses and good living conditions, they can direct all their efforts to educating younger generation and scientific researches without any inconvenience.
    When the country preferentially treats the teachers and researchers including scientists and technicians, they can thoroughly implement the party's idea of attaching importance to science, he said.
    He noted that apartment houses for scientists of Kim Il Sung University would be completed this year and that those for scientists of Kim Chaek University of Technology would be built next year. He said he would also see to it that apartment houses for scientists were built in Phyongsong district where the State Academy of Sciences is situated and a rest home for them was built on the picturesque shores of Yonphung Lake in the future.
    He underscored the need to learn in detail about the conditions of all the universities and provide students with good dormitories.
    Underling the need to unconditionally complete the construction of the apartment houses for scientists of Kim Il Sung University till October 10, the anniversary of the WPK, and provide them to scientists, he expressed expectation and belief that KPA Unit 267 demonstrating its honor as a heroic unit in construction would put the intention of the party into practice. -0-




KIM JONG UN WATCHES SOCCER MATCH WITH PYONGYANGITES
    Pyongyang, August 14 (KCNA) -- A men's soccer match between the Ryongaksan Team and the Pothonggang Team comprising ace players of the country took place in Kim Il Sung Stadium on Wednesday, the eve of the 68th anniversary of Korea's liberation.
    Supreme leader Kim Jong Un appeared in the tribune of honor.
    Among the spectators were Pak Pong Ju, Choe Ryong Hae, Jang Song Thaek, Jang Jong Nam, Kim Kyong Hui, Kim Ki Nam, Choe Thae Bok, Kang Sok Ju, Kim Won Hong, Kim Yang Gon, Kim Yong Il, Kim Phyong Hae, Kwak Pom Gi, Mun Kyong Dok, Ro Tu Chol, Choe Pu Il and Jo Yon Jun, members of the State Physical Culture and Sports Guidance Commission, leading officials of the support organizations for various sports events, officials of the party, armed forces and power organs, working people's organizations, the Cabinet, ministries and national institutions, those in the sports field, sportspersons, working people from all walks of life and school youth and children in the city.
    The match started with the kick-off of the Pothonggang Team.
    The Ryongaksan Team made attempts to score goals through flank attack and short passes which helped a forward make strong kick 16 m from goal mouth, scoring the first goal at around 33rd minute of the first half.
    When the Pothonggang Team had a chance of penalty kick, its forward scored a goal through his skillful kick at around 36th minute of the first half. As a result, the first half ended 1:1.
    A back of the Ryongaksan Team made a smart heading, scoring a goal at around 11th minute of the second half.
    The Ryongaksan Team beat its rival 2:1 in the match.
    Marshal Kim Jong Un expressed great satisfaction over the nice match and congratulated the players on their success. -0-


KIM JONG UN INSPECTS KPA UNIT
    Pyongyang, August 17 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army (KPA) Kim Jong Un, who is also first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission, inspected KPA Unit 3404.
    After receiving a salute, he went round the room for the education in the revolutionary history of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, conducted by commanding officers.
    Being briefed on the proud history of the unit, he watched with keen attention historic relics and data conjuring up deep memories. He looked back with deep emotion on the history of the unit's development.
    He highly praised the unit for achieving many successes through a dynamic drive for making combat preparations and bolstering up fighting capability, true to the noble intentions of the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.
    He acquainted himself with varieties of inventions made by the unit and appreciated its achievements.
    He expressed expectation and belief that servicepersons of the unit would successfully discharge their mission and role as standard-bearers and shock brigade upholding the Songun politics of the party before having a photo session with them.
    He was accompanied by Vice Marshal of the KPA Choe Ryong Hae, director of the KPA General Political Bureau. -0-

KIM JONG UN VISITS CONSTRUCTION SITE OF SKI RESORT ON MASIK PASS
    Pyongyang, August 17 (KCNA) -- Marshal Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, visited the construction site of the Ski Resort on Masik Pass.
    He was accompanied by Choe Ryong Hae, Pak Thae Song, Hwang Pyong So, Kim Pyong Ho, Ma Won Chun, Jon Chang Bok, Kim Yong Chol and O Kum Chol.
    He received a report on the progress made in the construction.
    He expressed his great satisfaction over the fact that the soldier-builders and members of shock brigades of various units have wound up the frame assembling of more than 20 structures by pushing forward it at a high speed despite rough terrains and bad weather in rainy season.
    A breakthrough has been made towards the successful construction of the ski resort, he said, adding that it is a miracle which can be worked only by service personnel and people of the DPRK who are the fighters ready to flatten any mountain and empty even a sea in response to an order or instruction of the party.
    Going round various structures including hotel, service buildings, lodging quarters, skate park, etc., he learnt about the progress made in the construction.
    Looking round an 8-storeyed hotel with a 3-storeyed basement, he underscored the need to build all floors and aspects of construction to suit the features of the mountainous area and match its natural environment.
    After learning about the project for setting up cableway service, he underlined to step up it so that skiers may use it up to the peak of Taehwa Hill more than 1 360 m above the sea level from the coming winter.
    Noting that the area of Masik Pass has undergone a dramatic change when comparing it with what he saw on May 26, he highly appreciated the world-startling labor feats the builders have performed in the construction.
    He indicated the tasks to be fulfilled to further accelerate the construction.
    He called for further rounding off the skiing courses and carrying out without fail daily quotas for each process of the projects including hotel, service buildings, lodging quarters and cableway service.
    He urged the Cabinet, ministries and national institutions to take thorough measures for supplying necessary materials. He also called on the factories and enterprises in charge of building materials and equipment to implement their tasks without fail.
    The ski resort is a monumental edifice of eternal value to be used by the people even in the distant future, while enjoying wealth and prosperity under socialism, and it is also one of the icons of a highly civilized nation, he said, underscoring the need for the builders to ensure the construction at the highest level so that they may be responsible for its safety and guarantee its absolute quality for all eternity.
    He called on the builders to construct a world-class ski resort and provide the people, youth and children with a more civilized and happier living conditions so that cheerful laughter under socialism and loud shouts of hurrah for the WPK may be heard from the area of Masik Pass.
