KIM JONG UN VISITS CONSTRUCTION SITE OF SKI RESORT ON MASIK PASS


Pyongyang, December 15 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, visited the Ski Resort on Masik Pass near completion.
He went round Masik Pass Hotel, ski service and lodging buildings and resting places in the skiing courses for beginners and amateurs.
After going round bed rooms, lounges, dining rooms and swimming pool of the hotel etc., one by one, he said that everything inside it looks nice and every aspect and corner are friendly to environment and match the scenery of the mountain.
He noted that the hotel is a model structure as it has been built as required by the party's policy calling for designing and building anything according to its use and peculiarity, and the best one in the country.
He said that ski service and lodging buildings and resting places in skiing courses for beginners and amateurs have also been built in such a way as to meet the desire and requirements of the people, afford best convenience to them and suit their emotion and sense of beauty.
Noting that all the buildings and service facilities have been designed and constructed well, building materials have been properly chosen and facilities have been successfully distributed as intended by the party, he expressed the greatest satisfaction that all of them have been built by the efforts of Koreans and with indigenous technology and the facilities can be operated as they please.
He learnt in detail about the conditions of skiing courses.
He said the skiing courses on the Masik Pass Ski Resort are world-class ones in terms of their number and total length.
Noting the resort is a winter sports complex where visitors can enjoy skiing, skating and sledging, he said they can do so even at night if the facilities are illuminated.
He called for building more lodging quarters and service facilities that can house hundreds of school youth and children at a time so that those from across the country can enjoy their winter camping by skiing, skating and sledging at the resort.
Then, he chose sites for new buildings and specified one by one the matters which should not be missed when undertaking the second phase of construction.
Noting he is deeply touched when thinking of the soldier-builders devotedly carrying out the order issued by the party despite biting cold in December, he extended high appreciation to them, saying the party would never forget the feats they have performed for the country and its people.
He was accompanied by Hwang Pyong So and Ma Won Chun, vice department directors of the Central Committee of the WPK.

KIM JONG UN GIVES FIELD GUIDANCE TO KPA DESIGNING INSTITUTE


Pyongyang, December 14 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, gave field guidance to the Designing Institute of the Korean People's Army.
He went round the room which houses revolutionary relics.
Looking at historic relics and data with keen attention, he recollected with deep emotion the proud road covered by the institute.
He said that looking at the diary of the leadership provided by President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il to the designing institute alone, one can know well about the construction history of our country, adding that their immortal exploits performed in leading construction would shine long as an eternal treasure for building a rich and powerful country.
He underlined the need for the institute to arrange well the room for the education in the revolutionary history and help its officials, designers and architects deeply grasp the leadership feats of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.
Going round various designing rooms, he indicated tasks to be fulfilled by the institute.
It is the firm determination of the party to create a new history of construction in Songun Korea, he noted, instructing the institute to play a pioneer's role in the drive to develop the present heyday in construction into a period of great prosperity.
In order to successfully carry out any task assigned by the party, it is important for the designing personnel to aim high and have ambitious pluck to make architectural designs to be impeccable even in the distant future, he noted.
He stressed that in order to decisively raise the level of scientization in designing as required by the new century it is necessary to put designing methods on a scientific basis and modernize designing means.
Underling the need to spruce up the interior and exterior of the institute as befitting an organ producing designs for a highly civilized nation, he took measures for doing so.
He was accompanied by KPA Vice-Marshal Choe Ryong Hae, director of the General Political Bureau of the KPA, KPA General Jang Jong Nam, minister of the People's Armed Forces, and Hwang Pyong So, vice department director of the Central Committee of the WPK.
