KIM JONG UN GIVES FIELD GUIDANCE TO KOSAN FRUIT FARM
Pyongyang, July 24 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, provided field guidance to the Kosan Fruit Farm.
He mounted a newly built gazebo. Enjoying a bird's-eye view of the farm, he said with pleasure: "How nice the farm looks. The foot of Chol Pass has turned into a socialist fairyland and an ideal land of the people. If poets stand here, the scenery will make poetic sentiment flash upon them. This is, indeed, a sea of fruit trees!"
He said that "Thanks to the tireless efforts made by the members of the Construction Shock Brigade 618 to keep their promise made with leader Kim Jong Il and the devoted efforts of the employees of the farm, the world-startling changes took place here."
He looked round the newly arranged room dedicated to the history of the farm.
He recalled that the farm, which was established in 1947 under a far-reaching plan of President Kim Il Sung, has turned into the nation's leading fruit-producing base thanks to the devoted efforts of Kim Jong Il.
Noting that it is of great significance that such a large fruit farm has been built at the foot of Chol Pass associated with the Songun revolutionary leadership of Kim Jong Il, he said that it was Kim Jong Il who recorded the first page of the history of the farm which has turned into the world's leading young orchard.
He called for making all pages of the history of the farm shine forever by building the farm into a world class fruit producer and a land of bliss and producing more fruits for the people.
He looked round the newly built Wire Net Fence Factory.
Going round various places of the factory, he learned in detail about its construction and production there.
He highly praised the brigade for successfully building the factory as intended by the party, adding not only its interior and exterior but all aspects of the structure were excellently built.
Noting products of the factory are useful not only for the orchards but also for arranging parks, sports facilities, etc., he called for producing a lot of wire net fences for various uses.
Then he learnt about the growth of apple trees.
He asked how many apples a tree yields and how much an apple weighs before underscoring the need to make sure that the trees in all orchards of the farm are heavily laden with apples so that the sea of apples at the foot of Chol Pass is pervaded with fruit aroma and it is covered with apple trees.
Underlining the need to make efforts with an ambition to dominate the world fruit farming, he set a goal to be attained by the farm in a few years to come, taught ways for increasing the fruit production and promised to send necessary vehicles and equipment to the farm.
He visited the house of Kim Ju Song and Kim Kum Hui, a couple of discharged soldiers, congratulated them on their moving to a new house and had a photo taken with them.
He also had a photo taken with Ri Jong Su and Son In Ok, another couple of discharged soldiers, congratulating them on their moving to a new house.
He was pleased to hear that more than 2,000 families of workers of the farm were very happy with their newly built houses to which they moved.
He noted that officials and members of the Construction Shock Brigade 618 had done a lot of work, he was pleased with everything done by them and the Party Central Committee highly appreciated their labor feats.
And he reposed the deepest trust in them, calling on all units to earnestly learn from the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance displayed by the brigade in the efforts to implement the intention of the party.
Underscoring the need to unconditionally complete the project for rebuilding the fruit farm on an expansion basis before the date fixed by Kim Jong Il, he took a measure for mobilizing a strong construction force of the People's Army for the project.
He was accompanied by Hwang Pyong So, Ri Jae Il and Han Kwang Sang.

KIM JONG UN GUIDES ROCKET FIRING DRILL OF STRATEGIC FORCE OF KPA
Pyongyang, July 27 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, guided a rocket firing drill of the strategic force of the KPA on the spot.
The drill was staged on July 26, a day before the anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War. It was conducted by a firepower strike unit of the strategic force of the KPA tasked to strike bases of the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces in south Korea.
He examined a firing plan mapped out in consideration of the present location of the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces' bases in south Korea and under the simulated conditions of the battle to strike and destroy them before guiding the drill.
The drill proved the high combat capability of the firepower strike unit and the perfect performance of its tactical rockets.
Kim Jong Un expressed his great satisfaction over a series of successful drills of the strategic force, saying: "Rocket test-fire drills were conducted many times recently to develop the Juche-based rocket science and technology and firing methods. As a result, the strategic force is fully ready to successfully carry out any firepower strike mission in modern warfare. The roar heard from today's firepower drill conducted to mark the war victory day is just like a thrilling gun report heralding the completion of the strategic force's combat preparations."
Stressing history can never be altered, concealed and cooked up, he recalled that the U.S. and the south Korean regime are staging a ridiculous charade of describing their past defeat in the war as "victorious one" through Obama's unjustifiable "speech" and Park Geun Hye's "presidential memorial address" made on the occasion of July 27, instead of drawing a lesson from their ignominious defeat in the past war.
He declared:
"Masters of the White House have been replaced by others since the 1950s. However, the U.S. harsh hostile policy toward the DPRK has not changed at all. It was the shameful tradition of the U.S. imperialists that they have sustained setbacks, hit hard in history, and it is the proud tradition of the DPRK that it has successfully foiled every reckless move pursued by the U.S., counting on its growing muscle. These law-governed two traditions will last forever in the future, too."
Whoever dares challenge the just cause of the service personnel and people of the DPRK is bound to meet a final ruin, he stressed, calling for wiping out the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces in south Korea and other forces following them on this land at an early date and accomplishing the historic cause of national reunification without fail.
He was accompanied by Hwang Pyong So, Ri Yong Gil, Yun Tong Hyon, Ri Pyong Chol, O Kum Chol and Pak Jong Chon.

The April 25 Team beat its rival.
Kim Jong Un congratulated volleyballers on their successful match, expressing satisfaction over their high level of playing.
He underscored the need to round off Korean style sports technique, tactical system and training methods, put sports technique on a higher level and thus achieve signal successes in international games.
Putting the DPRK onto the position of a sports power is an important work to increase the national power in every way and demonstrate the indomitable spirit and dignity of Songun Korea before the whole world, he said, setting forth the tasks which would serve as guidelines for rapidly developing the nation's sports.
