Kim Jong Un Gives Field Guidance to Newly Built Restaurant for Service Personnel

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, together with Ri Sol Ju gave field guidance to the newly built restaurant for service personnel.

Watching the restaurant, Kim Jong Un recollected with deep emotion the immortal exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

He recalled that the restaurant for service personnel which opened in February 1948 on the personal initiative of the President gave service without interruption not only in the period of building a new country but also during the Fatherland Liberation War and it successfully ensured a banquet celebrating the war victory day which was honored with the presence of the President.

Thanks to Kim Jong Il who personally took a measure for providing foodstuff to the restaurant even in the period of the Arduous March when the country was undergoing great difficulties, the restaurant has always been opened, he said, adding that the service personnel of the KPA will always remember the warm loving care shown by Kim Jong Il.

Noting that the restaurant has satisfactorily played its mission and duty as a catering center for service personnel for the past several decades, he instructed the officials and employees of the restaurant to serve them well so as to convey the profound loving care of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il to posterity.

He went round different places of the restaurant including dining rooms and kitchen to learn in detail about its construction and service plan.

He said all dining rooms look spacious and nice to be fit for catering facilities, interior decoration is peculiar and the color of finishing building materials look attractive, adding that they are so impeccable that they can be used as a state banquet hall.

He was pleased that the restaurant has quality tables, chairs and other furniture, the kitchen was arranged well to be fit for its capacity and it has sufficient utensils including noodle-trays in place. He was satisfied with its modern sterilizing and washing equipment to fully ensure hygienic safety, in particular.

He set forth the tasks to be fulfilled by the restaurant for managing and operating it and improving its service.

Underlining the need for the restaurant to develop itself into the one frequented by service personnel, he stressed that to this end it is most important for its officials and employees to provide kind service and display cultural traits and, at the same time, strive hard to improve the quality of noodle in the spirit of devoted service to service personnel.

He instructed the restaurant to compete with famous restaurants including Okryu Restaurant to raise the quality of noodle and scrupulously organize the work for steadily improving the skill of cookers, in particular.

Stressing the need to take thorough measures for the supply of foodstuff to put the service at the restaurant on a normal footing, he told its officials to let him know about problems in time and promised to solve all of them.

Noting that soldier-builders successfully constructed the restaurant to be impeccable in any aspect as intended by the party, he praised them for building the restaurant as a proud edifice in the Songun era.

Personally tasting the noodle prepared by employees of the restaurant together with senior officials of the party, state and army accompanying him, he expressed expectation and belief that the restaurant would preserve the peculiar taste and tradition of Korean noodle and improve the quality of variety of food and thus creditably perform its duty as a catering center popular among service personnel.

Kim Jong Un Watches Women's Football Match together with Pyongyangites

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, watched a women's football match between the national team and the Wolmido team at the remodeled May Day Stadium on Tuesday.

Kim Jong Un applauded the players of the national team whenever they scored a goal.

The national team, the strongest in Asia, trounced its rival Wolmido team 9:0.

As the match was over, he called table-tennis player Kim Jong who was not present when he was meeting the gold medalists at the 17th Asian Games and recent world championships and their coaches, and had a photo taken with her.

He expressed great satisfaction with the fact that the May Day Stadium was remodeled as an icon of the sports facilities in the country and as a stadium meeting the requirements of a highly civilized nation on the occasion of the founding anniversary of the party.

He said that the May Day Stadium is the world class stadium built according to the grandiose plan and bold decision of leader Kim Jong Il and pride and treasure of Songun Korea.

Noting that the remodeling project of the 150 000-seater stadium could be successfully completed in a brief span of time thanks to the might of the army-people great unity, he extended on behalf of the Central Committee of the WPK thanks to the service personnel, builders and helpers who performed labor feats in the project for successfully remodeling the stadium to meet the requirements of the present times when the country aims to emerge a sports powerhouse.

KCNA Commentary Flays S. Korean Authorities for Abandoning Military Sovereignty

Pyongyang, October 29 (KCNA) -- It was agreed to extend indefinitely the transfer of the right to wartime operation control (OPECON) at the south Korea-U.S. annual security consultative meeting held in Washington on Oct. 24.

The indefinite extension of the transfer of the right to OPECON is an act of treachery as it fully revealed the intention of the present south Korean authorities to allow the U.S. to keep its forces in south Korea indefinitely, strengthen its colonial rule over south Korea and more frantically pursue confrontation with fellow countrymen and war moves against the north, utterly indifferent to the national dignity and self-esteem.

Military sovereignty is one of the most important criteria in exercising the sovereignty of the nation and if a country is increasingly dependent on other country in military affairs, it is bound to be accompanied by political subjugation.

The prerogative of the supreme command over the army in south Korea has been exercised by the U.S., pursuant to brigandish military treaties forced on it by Washington since the puppet army came into being as a colonial mercenary army.

South Korean people have struggled for the transfer of the prerogative for a long period. It was expected to take it over till 2012. But it was extended till 2015 due to the treacherous act of traitor Lee Myung Bak, and the present puppet regime did not hesitate to extend it beyond 2020.

After leaving the right to OPECON, the core of the military sovereignty, to the tender mercy of foreign forces, the puppet forces are claiming that they would push forward the transfer while talking about "nuclear and missile threat of the north", a mockery of the south Koreans.

The U.S. forces in south Korea have established various systems and procedures to exercise the right to OPECON. The U.S. made it a system to hold annual security consultative meeting and military committee meeting and interfere in military policies of south Korea as administrative means to shape military policies and strategies and settle various other practical issues related to the Korean Peninsula.

It is meeting its military demands through annual security consultative meeting and, at the same time, putting the south Korean army under its total control through the "Combined Forces Command" and hurling the puppet army into U.S. military operations overseas.

The puppet forces are depending on the U.S. forces in south Korea for all military strategy information and 70 percent of tactical information and the U.S. is providing most of weapons to south Korea.

The puppet forces have to purchase U.S.-made weapons worth an astronomic amount of dollars in return for extending the transfer of the right to OPECON indefinitely while the south Korean people have to cover a fabulous amount of defense expenditure every year, bound to the right to OPECON.

The indefinite extension of the transfer of the right to OPECON convince once again all Koreans that the present south Korean authorities have no iota of independent idea and they are no more than colonial stooges staking their fate on foreign forces.

They should cancel at once the extension of the transfer.

Kim Jong Un Guides Flight Drill for Inspection of KPA Air and Anti-Air Force

Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, guided a flight drill for inspection of airmen of the KPA Air and Anti-Air Force.

Units 1017, 447 and 458 of the KPA Air and Anti-Force took part in the drill.

The drill involved taking-off and landing on the highway-airfield, flight for intercepting targets in the air and demonstration of special aerobatics.

The airmen fully showed the Supreme Commander their high art of aviation they have cultivated in their day-to-day training.

He said that he feels whenever watching flight drills that our airmen are very good at flying and all of the reliable combat airmen defending the sky of the country are his very dear comrades-in-arms trained by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il with their loving care and phoenixes, the strongest in idea and faith.

Then he personally boarded the seat of pursuit plane No. 550 involved in the drill and learned in detail about the engineering data of the plane and had a talk with its pilot who is company commander.

Repeatedly expressing satisfaction over the successful drill, he gave thanks of the supreme commander of the KPA to KPA Air and Anti-Air Force Unit 1017, Unit 447 and Unit 458 and awarded higher military ranks to Kim Hyon Ung, Kang Kyong Chol, Kim Chang Ho and Sin Thae Sop, commanders of the flying corps, for displaying high art of aviation by his order.

He discussed various measures for coping with the modern war with the commanding officers of the KPA Air and Anti-Air Force and indicated ways for settling important issues arising in rounding off the combat preparations of the air and anti-air force and fresh tasks.

Kim Jong Un Publishes New Work

Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- Supreme leader Kim Jong Un on Oct. 24 published his work "To Protect National Heritage Is a Patriotic Undertaking for Adding Brilliance to the History and Traditions of Our Nation".

Kim Jong Un said in his work that the reconstruction of Mausoleum of King Tangun as a magnificent edifice thanks to noble patriotism and wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il helped clearly prove that the Koreans have lived as a homogeneous nation in one and the same land with King Tangun as the founding-father since the dawn of human civilization and led to the appearance of a holy place of the nation for educating all Koreans in patriotism.

This is a great auspicious event of the Korean nation and a shining victory of the Juche-oriented policy for protecting national heritage, he noted, adding:

Hostile Forces Hit for Their Moves to Adopt Anti-DPRK "Human Rights Resolution"

Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- The hostile forces' moves to have an anti-DPRK "human rights resolution" adopted have reached a graver phase this year, timed to coincide with the U.S. start of all-out confrontation with the DPRK.

A spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry issued a statement Thursday in this regard.

The DPRK has made earnest and sincere efforts to promote international dialogue and cooperation in the field of human rights for the purpose of steadily promoting the popular masses' enjoyment of human rights, the statement said, and went on:

In the recent days the DPRK took a magnanimous stand to positively take into consideration the issue of conducting human rights dialogue which had been frozen due to the unilateral action of the EU and the issue of the visit of the UN special rapporteur on human rights issue in the DPRK to it for the purpose of promoting genuine human rights on the principle of respect for sovereignty, agreed with the matter of the visit of the EU representative with full mandate over human rights to the DPRK and expressed an intention to accept technical cooperation with the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.

Nevertheless, international dialogue and cooperation have not been effected in the field of human rights. This is attributable to the U.S. hostile policy to tarnish the image of the DPRK and bring down its social system at any cost by persistently hyping its "human rights issue".

It was none other than the U.S. which let its Secretary of State convene a "high-level meeting on human rights in north Korea" and barred the DPRK, the party concerned, from participating in it for fear of the disclosure of the sinister backstage political confab. It was again the U.S. which prodded into an anti-north smear campaign such human scum as "those defectors from the north" who fled to the south from their old homes and kinsmen after committing thrice-cursed crimes.

Afraid of the possible dialogue and cooperation between the DPRK and the international community in the field of human rights and, accordingly, the further promotion of its people's enjoyment of human rights and the rising international prestige of the DPRK, the U.S. is making desperate efforts to maintain an international atmosphere of pressure on the DPRK, turning its face away from the latter's sincere efforts and raising unreasonable demands.

If the EU adopts an anti-DPRK "human rights resolution" harsher than the previous one, dancing to the U.S. tune, an opportunity of engaging the DPRK over the human rights issue will be missed for good and this will entail unpredictable consequences.

CPRK Secretariat Hits S. Korean Authorities for Delayed Transfer of OPECON

Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- The U.S. and south Korean puppet authorities, at the recent 46th annual security consultative meeting in Washington, agreed to put off the transfer of OPECON (wartime operation control), which had been scheduled by 2015, until security circumstances in around the Korean Peninsula and core military capabilities of the south Korean forces are provided.

They also decided to keep the U.S.-south Korea Combined Forces Command and the U.S. 210th Fire Brigade, which had been planned to transfer to Phyongthaek, Kyonggi Province of south Korea, in Seoul and the area north of the River Han still before the OPECON transfer and continue their consultation on the proposed U.S.-Japan-south Korea sharing of military information.

In this regard, the Secretariat of the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea released information bulletin No. 1077 on Wednesday.

Lurking behind such bargaining are the sinister intention of the south Korean puppet group to maintain their life through closer military tie-up with the U.S. and intensify the war and confrontation moves against the DPRK and the U.S. criminal intention to realize its policy of aggression on the DPRK and the strategy for domination over the Asia-Pacific with south Korea as a military bridgehead, the bulletin said, and went on:

The south Korean puppet group's conspiracy with their American master for indefinite delay of the OPECON transfer is sparking off the surging wrath of all the countrymen as it is an intolerable disgrace of the nation and an unpardonable heinous treachery.

Permanent abandonment of military sovereignty is little different from permanent abandonment of political and economic sovereignty. The south Korean people can not evade the disgrace as stateless people, subjugated to the U.S. in politics, economy and military aspects, for good.

The world knows no such traitors as the south Korean puppet authorities who have abandoned their military sovereignty as a whole to outside forces.

Those who agreed to indefinitely put off the transfer of OPECON will be condemned down through generations as second Ri Wan Yong and second Syngman-Rhee traitors.

It is ridiculous that the south Korean puppet authorities would talk about "advanced state" though they are war servants deprived of military sovereignty, essence of national rights, by outside forces.

We, together with all other Koreans, will never allow the postponing of OPECON transfer for aggression but take decisive counter-measures.

KCNA Commentary on S. Korean Authorities' Double-dealing Act

Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- The south Korean authorities would clamor about "dual character" and "double-dealing tactics", whenever provoking the DPRK over the matters related to the inter-Korean relations.

It is just like the guilty party filing the suit first.

This is well evidenced by their attitude toward the issue of anti-DPRK leaflet scattering, a stumbling block in the way of improving the north-south relations.

The authorities of south Korea have so far asserted that there is no legal ground and regulation to restrict the leaflet scattering.

Such stance was taken again when an anti-DPRK leaflet scattering operation by human scum, slated in the area around Rimjin Pavilion of south Korea on Oct. 25, was frustrated by local inhabitants and members of progressive organizations.

The puppet minister of Unification in an appearance on Oct. 26 contented that "there is no legal ground and regulation to restrict NGOs' autonomous anti-north leaflet scattering as freedom of expression is to be respected under the constitution." And he added the "government" remains unchanged in such basic stand.

If then, why did the "government" recently block, under the pretext of no-fly zone, a civic organization in Kwanghwamun, Seoul, from attempting to send a balloon of leaflets carrying the population's demand for probe into the truth about the sunken ferry Sewol to Chongwadae? Is there any limitation to the application of laws equal to everyone?

It is a height of shamelessness to put down the demand of justice and shield the criminals' action.

What the south Korean authorities seek in backing such human scum's anti-DPRK leaflet scattering is just to escalate the confrontation with the DPRK in a foolish attempt to realize their design for "unification by absorption".

Untold are the catastrophic results anti-DPRK leaflet scattering operations have brought to the north-south relations so far. Nevertheless, the south Korean authorities still take double-dealing attitude, talking about "basic stand of the government".

The authorities of south Korea had better behave themselves, mindful that if they refuse to totally halt such provocations as anti-DPRK leaflet scattering, the north-south relations will be driven into an uncontrollable phase and they will be held entirely accountable for it.
