 JOINT STATEMENT of the Nigerian National Committee on the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and Nigeria-DPRK Friendship Association

October 4 2007, the heads of the north and south published in Pyongyang the Declaration for the Improvement of North-South Relations, and Peace and Prosperity.

The October 4 Declaration reaffirmed the principle of national independence, the fundamental spirit of the June 15 Joint Declaration and advanced the new proposals for definitely converting north-south relations into those of mutual respect and confidence and closely cooperating with each other in the efforts to ensure peace on the Korean peninsula.

We are extending our entire support and solidarity to the Korean people in their struggle for realizing the independent reunification of Korea on the principle of “by our nation itself” without foreign interference.

in the past, far-right conservative authorities of South Korea persisted in north-south confrontation and the incumbent south Korean ruler advocating “progress,” disregards the declaration and is following the policy of subservience to the US and confrontation with the fellow countrymen in the north studying the faces of the US.

If the south Korean authorities wish sincerely peace and prosperity, they should make a switch in policy-making with a view to respecting the October 4 Declaration and thoroughly implementing it.
