Kim Jong Un Inspects Construction Sites in Samjiyon County

Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State
Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme

commander of the Korean People's Army, gave field guidance to construction
sites in Samjiyon County.

Looking at the master plan of construction of a township in the county and a
map showing the bird's-eye view of the township in the county at the observation
deck on Pegae Hill, the respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un was briefed on it.

He gave an instruction to include the plan of expanding and developing the area
extending to the shore of Lake Samji in the plan of the township construction of
the county in the future.

Looking at the map showing the bird's-eye view of the township in the county,
he said the color of coating materials and metal roofing materials of the buildings
should be harmoniously matched to their use and features and the color of the
exterior walls should be selected to suit well the natural forests of Mt Paektu.

He said that the construction of Samjiyon County should be conducted, divided
into the areas of education, dwelling houses, modern streets, industry, sports and
cultural education, commercial service and tourism, in accordance with the
ratified master plan.

He said that a model of city with modern civilization in the mountains should be
made in the construction of Samjiyon County and the appearance of all the
counties in the mountains of our country should be spruced up and built well by
generalizing the experience and this process should be an occasion of great leap
and a revolution in local construction.

As the township construction of Samjiyon County is conducted amidst the
concern and support of the whole Party, state and society, it should be finished in
the short period by scrupulously organizing the guidance and supply according to
a three-dimensional and blitz war formula.

He underscored the need to introduce the construction method suitable for the
features of the northern area with heavy snowfall and low temperature and
ensure the quality of construction on the highest level by intensifying the
guidance and supervision of construction without concentrating on the speed only.

He said it is necessary to make a good design of forestation and tree planting
according to the districts of the township area of the county and stressed the
need to plant a number of white birch, a favorite tree of leader Kim Jong Il.

Going round the construction sites of the Management Office for Revolutionary
Battle Sites in the Secret Camp of Mt Paektu and lodging houses for study
tourists, he learned about the construction.

Many units are engaged in the construction of the county and so state
construction supervision institutions should establish an orderly supervisory
system and make increasingly exact demands, he said.

Going round the Rimyongsu area, he said that various types of dwelling houses
and buildings should be placed in a diverse and peculiar way along the side of the
ravine, preserving the characteristics of nature and topography.

During the county construction forest mustn't be wrecked, he stressed, calling

for preserving the ecological environment in Mt Paektu area intact, mindful that
the area is a sacred place of revolution where every tree and every blade of
grass can never be neglected.

Through the work to spruce up Samjiyon County, we should renew not only the
appearance of the township area but also the mental conditions of people and let
the county play its role as a host, not making its independence and spirit of self-
reliance fade while the whole country is aiding the county, he said, adding that
the county should create a revolutionary spirit in the new century, a new spirit of
the times in the course of building itself into a communist dreamland.

Noting that the construction of the county has undergone a lot of progress, he
gave thanks to the builders for faithfully devoting themselves to the work for
sprucing up the county into the one flawless in every aspect.

Kim Jong Un Inspects Junghung Farm in Samjiyon County

Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State
Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme
commander of the Korean People's Army, gave field guidance to the Junghung
Farm in Samjiyon County.

He went round a potato plot under the workteam 1 of the farm.

Noting that potato blight and flood damage have an impact on potato harvest in
July every year, he asked how it is this year. He underscored the need for the
agricultural field to take thoroughgoing measures of agricultural technique to
prevent damage by low temperature and blight, the most knotty problem in potato
farming in northern alpine area.

He said that the agronomists and persons in charge of plots should enhance their
responsibility and role so as to intensify prediction and forecast of potato blight
and that a strict step should be taken to secure agricultural chemicals and
immediately and intensively spray them upon potato plants in sickness.

He stressed the need to direct efforts to stockbreeding to establish the food
production cycle of agriculture and animal husbandry, increase the fertility of soil
of potato fields and conduct in a scientific and technical way the manuring and
cultivation of potato fields including weeding, earthing up, fertilizing and
extermination of harmful insects.

Looking round farm machines and tractors of the workteam, he acquainted
himself with how many tractors it has and how it operates them.

Saying what he wanted to know with utmost care is the proportion and level of
mechanization of potato farming, he noted that the level of the comprehensive
mechanization of the farm should be raised decisively. He pointed out that the

agricultural sector sets a good example for mechanization with the farm machines
secured more than 20 years ago. Comprehensive mechanization should be
realized with modern and efficient farm machines in line with the requirements of
the steadily changing and developing reality and farm officials should add to their
knowledge to know well the global trend of the development of farm machines
and boldly set aim high, he added.

He said that if they take into full account how many and what kinds of farm
machines are needed to do all of the farm work with the help of machines without
hesitation and inform the Party of it, it will work hard to carry it into reality and
that it is the Party's firm determination to first build the farm into an exemplary
unit for modernization of farm machines and, on this basis, turn Samjiyon County
and its farms into the standard unit of our country whose comprehensive
mechanization is realized perfectly on a high level and a farm of comprehensive
mechanization where farmers' ideal has come true.

Then he went to a storehouse of seed potatoes.

Appreciating the introduction of the automatic control system of environment
which makes it possible to put the store of seed potatoes on a scientific basis by
automatically measuring and controlling temperature, humidity and concentration
of carbonic acid gas in the storehouse, he underlined the need to increase the
capacity by properly estimating the quantity of seeds to meet the increased
potato fields.

Now that seed is essential for potato farming it is necessary to establish an
integral system of producing and keeping seed potatoes and put seed selection on
a scientific and technical basis, he said.

It is necessary to breed and introduce per-hectare high-yielding potato species
and to select and introduce species of potato fit for food as the Potato Farina
Production Factory has been built, he said, adding: All the farms should not plant
some high-yielding species only, thinking of productivity, but introduce various
species good to taste and ensure the quality of processed potato foods in
production and thus raise the quality of potato production.

Going round the farm, he set forth the plan and direction for sprucing up the
seat village in Junghung-ri, Samjiyon County.

He underscored the need to first remodel the units associated with leadership
exploits of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il such as the Junghung
Farm visited by them several times and then, on the basis of the experience,
gradually change all the farms in the county, noting that the county shouldn't cling
to only the remodeling of the township but propel it with the work to remodel the
farm villages on a full scale.

He said that the Party would actively help build the Junghung Farm into a
standard unit of village development, and gave an instruction on properly
estimating and reporting the necessary materials and labor.

without fail the wishes of Kim Jong Il, who was so anxious about the issue of
potato farming in Ryanggang Province, by producing a high yield of potato in the

Kim Jong Un Inspects Samjiyon Potato Farina Production Factory

Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State
Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme
commander of the Korean People's Army, again gave field guidance to the
modern Samjiyon Potato Farina Production Factory which was built in Samjiyon
County.

He again visited the factory to discuss measures on the spot with a
determination to build a new process producing 2 000 tons of processed potato
food in a year with potato farina as raw material, as the process of producing
potato farina with a capacity of thousands of tons was built last year.

Going round the potato farina production process, he said that the factory has
not been operated in full capacity after its appearance but it should produce a
huge amount of farina with the potatoes harvested this year so as to supply a lot
of potato farina and processed potato food to the people.

He underscored the need to equip the factory with modern machines for making
a variety of foods, including noodle, zeppole, cake and nutritious rice, with potato
farina and produce tasty and nutritious processed potato foods on a full scale.

He called for building modern potato farina factories at the potato production
bases in the northern alpine region on the basis of the experience and design
gained in having built a standard factory that can produce potato farina and
various kinds of processed potato foods for the first time in our country.

He acquainted himself with the store of produced potato farina and highlighted
the need to thoroughly ensure the quality of potato farina by keeping good
conditions for the store and to establish a scientific quality check system.

He also called upon the factory to take good care of and manage production
facilities and equipment on a regular basis, ensure hygienic environment enough
to fit for a foodstuff production process and organize manpower management to
ensure profitability so as to put the production on normal footing at a high level.

He looked round a Korean-style circulating fluidized-bed boiler newly built at
the factory.

He noted with high appreciation that the new boiler based on our own design,
technology and efforts to suit the actual conditions can supply enough steam
needed for production process with less coal consumption.

Now that the factory has all production process in a perfect way, it is urgent to
increase the output of potato for putting its production on a normal basis, he said.

After learning about the potato farming of the county, he stressed the need to
conduct sowing in right season and in a qualitative way, manure and cultivate
potato fields in a scientific and technical way and realize the comprehensive
mechanization to radically increase per hectare yield.

The Party will solve the problem of vehicles necessary for organization of
potato transport fleet to carry harvested potato, he said, adding that it is
important to gather it in time without wasting even a potato and fully supply
potato to the factory.

Saying that the Party harbors great expectations over the Samjiyon Potato
Farina Production Factory which opened up a new path in the potato processing
industry of our country, he earnestly called on its officials and employees to keep
the factory in full-capacity operation in the spirit of devoted service to the
people and thus make the factory built by the Party with much care truly
contribute to the improvement of the people's diet.

Kim Jong Un Has Photo Session with Samjiyon County Party Committee Officials

Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), chairman of the
State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and
supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, summoned the officials of the
Samjiyon County Committee of the WPK and had a significant photo session with
them.

He praised the officials of the Samjiyon County Party Committee for having
taken the lead in the dynamic drive true to the idea and intention of the Party
Central Committee for building the county, a sacred land of the revolution, into a
model of the country and fairyland of communism, before having a photo session

Kim Jong Un Inspects KPA Unit 1524

The respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un inspected Unit 1524 of the Korean
People's Army (KPA).

After receiving a salute, he went round the education room, barracks, wash-
cum-bath room, bean warehouse, greenhouse and other parts of the unit, guided
by its commanding officers, to take warm care of the living of soldiers as their
own parents would do.

At the education room, he acquainted himself in detail with the education of
soldiers of the unit and stressed the need to intensify the political and ideological
education and the education of faith in conformity with the specific character of
the duty of the unit defending the outpost line of the socialist country and thus
reliably defend the post and carry on service with the steadfast class stand.

He learned about the soybean farming by the unit at the bean warehouse and
told officers to increase the per-hectare soybean yield by positively introducing
successes and experience of advanced units.

He also said it is necessary to pay deep attention to providing good bean
processing equipment for the combat units in remote areas like the unit so that
the servicepersons can eat various bean dishes.

Going round the greenhouse, he stressed the need for the unit to plant and
introduce around the barracks the high yielding crops and vegetables of good
species cultivated by Farm 1116 of KPA Unit 810 so that it may benefit from
them.

Being satisfied with the fact that the unit settled the cooking fuel issue with
methane gas and has improved the servicepersons' diet with a good supply
foundation, he repeatedly underscored the need to push forward with the work
for laying living foundations so that the soldiers can devote themselves to the
military service without any inconvenience.

Expressing the expectation and belief that the servicepersons of the unit would
creditably discharge their mission and role as frontline soldiers defending the
gate to the socialist country with red arms of revolution in their hands, he had a
photo session with them.

Kim Jong Un Visits Sindo County,North Phyongan Province

The respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un gave field guidance to Sindo
County, North Phyongan Province.

He inspected Field 14 of Reed Branch Farm 1 of the Sindo County Combined
Reed Farm visited by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong II.

He said that if the production of chemical fiber based on reed is to be
reenergized, it is necessary to spruce up Sindo County as befitting a large-scale
reed production base, put the reed cultivation on a scientific and modern basis so
as to increase the per-hectare yield of it and settle the reed transportation issue
in order to supply enough fiber materials to factories.

Noting that to turn the county into a reliable Juche-based chemical fiber
materials base and increase the reed production is an important work for further
strengthening the independence of the country's chemical industry, he said that
he would positively help it and called for raising good reeds to keep its
production going at the rate of the peak year and continuing to reap the rich
harvest in the future.

He set forth detailed tasks and ways for bringing about a fresh turn in the reed
cultivation.

He said that he would send high-powered tractors and other vehicles to the
county, and assigned the relevant sector to tasks to preferentially provide the
county with fuel oil, tyres and accessories for vehicles, learn about the conditions
of generating and pumping equipment and tugs and lighters and take steps to
maintain them and work out to provide new ones and help it in a responsible
manner.

Then he toured the mechanized workteam of Reed Branch Farm 1.

He called for using farm machines and implements with care and taking good
care of them in a responsible way and repairing and maintaining them in time and

making effective use of them by enhancing the responsibility and role of the
users and thus positively mechanizing all the farming processes.

After learning in detail about the conditions of Sindo County as a whole, the
Supreme Leader advanced highly important tasks facing the county.

Saying that it is important for the remote island to lay a reliable supply service
foundation for it, he underlined the need to increase the grain production and
reenergize the stockbreeding and fishing bases so as to turn the county into the
one with mighty means of living that can produce and supply all things necessary
for its economic life independently.

Stressing the need to build up the county people's hospital on a modern basis
like a big one in a city in order to cure patients by itself, he said that the hospital
should be provided with complete sets of medical equipment to perform most
operations.

It is also needed to spruce up primary and middle schools in the county and
remarkably improve the educational environment and conditions so that the
inhabitants in the island can lead a highly civilized life like those in a city, he said,

Going round the soap, basic cosmetics and cosmetics workshops, the sample
room, Pomhyanggi-trademarked cosmetics exhibition and other places of the
factory for a long time, he learned in detail about the cosmetics production and
the modernization of the factory.

automated, germ-free and dust-free basis in a short span of time.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Visits People's Republic of China Kim Jong Un Leaves for China

Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, will visit the People's Republic of China from June 19 to 20.

Kim Jong Un together with his wife Ri Sol Ju came out to Pyongyang International Airport on the morning of June 19 to visit China.

A ceremony to see them off took place at the airport.

The respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un was warmly seen off by members and alternate members of the Political Bureau of the C.C., WPK.

He shook hands and exchanged greetings with the senior officials who came out to see him off one by one and boarded the plane for his personal use.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Visits People's Republic of China Kim Jong Un Arrives in Beijing

Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, arrived in Beijing, the capital of the People's Republic of China.

The plane carrying him landed at Beijing Capital International Airport at 10 a.m. Beijing time.

Present at the airport to greet him were Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and member of the CPC Central Committee Secretariat, Cai Qi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the Beijing Municipal Party Committee, Song Tao, head of the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee, and Li Jinjun, Chinese ambassador to the DPRK.

Also present there was Ji Jae Ryong, DPRK ambassador to China.

President Trump committed to provide security guarantees to the DPRK and Chairman Kim Jong Un reaffirmed his firm and unwavering commitment to complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

Historic First DPRK-U.S. Summit Meeting and Talks Held

Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, held the summit meeting and talks with Donald J. Trump, president of the United States of America, at Sentosa Island of Singapore on June 12, 2018 for the first time in the histories of the two countries.

Thanks to the fixed decision and will of the top leaders of the two countries to put an end to the extreme hostile relations between the DPRK and the U.S., which lingered for the longest period on the earth on terms of acute confrontation and to open up a new future for the sake of the interests of the peoples of the two countries and global peace and security, the first DPRK-U.S. summit is to be held.

Singapore, the country of the epoch-making meeting much awaited by the whole world, was awash with thousands of domestic and foreign journalists and a large crowd of masses to see this day's moment which will remain long in history.

Kim Jong Un left his lodging quarters at 8:10 a.m. local time and arrived at Capella Hotel on Sentosa Island of Singapore, the venue of the talks.

Expressing belief that the summit talks would lead to improvement of the DPRK-U.S. relations, President Trump appreciated that an atmosphere of peace and stability was created on the Korean Peninsula and in the region, although distressed with the extreme danger of armed clash only a few months ago, thanks to the proactive peace-loving measures taken by the respected Supreme Leader from the outset of this year.

Noting that many problems occurred due to deep-rooted distrust and hostility existing between the two countries,

Kim Jong Un said to achieve peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula and realize its denuclearization, the two countries should commit themselves to refraining from antagonizing each other out of mutual understanding and take legal and institutional steps to guarantee it.

He also underlined the need for the DPRK and the U.S. to take practical measures actively to carry out the issues discussed at the talks and the joint statement at an early date.

Kim Jong Un made an immediate agreement on Trump's proposal for recovering the remains of American soldiers and repatriating those already identified and gave an instruction to take a measure for settling it as early as possible.

Noting that the building of lasting and durable peace-keeping mechanism on the Korean Peninsula is of weighty significance in ensuring peace and security in the region and the rest of the world, he said that it is urgent to make bold decision on halting irritating and hostile military actions against each other.

Expressing his understanding of it, Trump expressed his intention to halt the U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises, which the DPRK side regards as provocation, over a period of good-will dialogue between the DPRK and the U.S., offer security guarantees to the DPRK and lift sanctions against it along with advance in improving the mutual relationship through dialogue and negotiation.

Kim Jong Un clarified the stand that if the U.S. side takes genuine measures for building trust in order to improve the DPRK-U.S. relationship, the DPRK, too, can continue to take additional good-will measures of next stage commensurate with them.

Pyongyang, June 9(KCNA)-The respected Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un visited the newly-built Pyongyang Taedonggang Seafood Restaurant together with his wife Ri Sol Ju.

The restaurant with the best conditions has indoor ponds of various kinds of freshwater and sea fish, a variety of dining rooms and stands of processed food to serve various cooked fishes of higher quality on the spot to the taste and liking of customers.

Noting that he appreciated the design and construction of the restaurant while examining its data from the relevant sector, Kim Jong Un said the restaurant looks very wonderful and unique and named it "Pyongyang Taedonggang Seafood Restaurant".

PRESS RELEASE OF DPRK PERMANENT MISSION IN GENEVA

The DPRK permanent mission to the UN Office at Geneva and other international organizations in Switzerland on May 30 issued a press release with regard to the recent revelation of the truth about the enticed group abduction of DPRK women citizens by the south Korean authorities.

Noting that the “case of group defection of north Korean restaurant workers” in April 2016 was proven through interviews of the victims and the criminal involved in the case to be conspiratorial farce cooked up by the Park Geun Hye regime of south Korea, the press release said:

Consistent is our stand to continue our effort and take appropriate measures until the repatriation of our citizens abducted in group as well as another DPRK woman citizen Kim Ryon Hui who had been tricked to south Korea and now appeals for years to return back to her home in the north is realized.

The south Korean authorities should admit the unheard-of atrocity of the former Park Geun Hye regime, severely punish those involved in the case, send our women citizens back without delay and thus show the will to improve the inter-Korean relations.

What is disappointing concerning this case is the inaction with silence by UN human rights agencies including the OHCHR.

The OHCHR should abandon its prejudiced and partial attitude of lending ears only to unconfirmed and absurd human rights accusations spread by hostile forces against the DPRK and discharge its due mandate and responsibility by taking appropriate action aimed at an early return of the DPRK victims of abduction to their beloved families as unanimously desired by the international community.

U.S. IS TO BLAME FOR ESCALATION OF TENSION ON KOREAN PENINSULA

A researcher of the Disarmament and Peace Institute of the DPRK Foreign Ministry made public a commentary titled “Who Is to Blame for Escalation of Tensions on Korean Peninsula” on Friday.

He in the commentary denounced the U.S. for having staged the madcap 2018 Max Thunder joint air combat drills ever largest against the DPRK from May 11 through 25 and thus ruptured the north-south high-level talks.

Branding the U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises as an open challenge to the Panmunjom Declaration the north and the south of Korea agreed and made public to the world, the commentary said:

Clear is the ultimate purpose sought by the U.S. in continuously staging joint military exercises going against the atmosphere of détente created on the Korean peninsula.

That is to further spur the formation of the U.S.-Japan-south Korea triangular military alliance and maintain a military edge in Asia and the Pacific.

This is clearly evidenced by the involvement of B-52 strategic bombers in the 2018 Max Thunder and the original plan to stag it in the form of the U.S.-Japan-south Korea combined air drill involving fighters of Japan and south Korea.

Last year there were a total of four U.S.-Japan-south Korea missile warning drills led by the U.S., an indication that the U.S. has long tried to inveigle Japan into joing the U.S.-south Korea joint military drill with the aim of having Japan form military nexus with south Korea.

All facts clearly prove once again that the joint military exercises which the U.S. carry out in the Korean peninsula are the root cause of the escalation of tension in the region and that they are deeply connected with the U.S. strategy for dominating Asia.

The international community is required to see with awakened eyes that the U.S. and south Korean warlike forces have escalated the situation through military provocations like the joint military exercises whenever important agreements were reached between the north and the south, and to see who really stems the trend toward peace and reconciliation on the Korean peninsula.

As long as the U.S. and south Korea continue to hold joint military exercises, the sky over the Korean peninsula will not be clear even a single day and it would be hard to guarantee the present trend toward détente and the peace and stability in the region.
