KIM JONG UN GOES ROUND REMODELED PYONGYANG INDOOR STADIUM
Pyongyang, September 14 (KCNA) -- Marshal Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, went round Pyongyang Indoor Stadium remodeled to meet the requirements of the present times for building a sports power.
Going round various places of the stadium for hours, he learned in detail about its remodeling.
At the room dedicated to the history of the stadium, he heard with keen attention the briefing on its history associated with field guidance provided by President Kim Il Sung and General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
He went round the stadium hall.
He was very pleased that it looks bright and nice as its ceiling is decorated with metal plates.
After learning about the elasticity of the floor of the stadium and echo in the hall, he said it is at the world's level so that any international game can be hosted.
It is necessary to cover the floor with carpet when holding a meeting and other events to use the stadium for various purposes, he noted, adding that the stadium looks more magnificent after at least 3 000 seats are added to the back side of the platform to enable more people to watch games and attend events and the walls of the platform and the space for spectators are plastered with stone powder coating materials.
He learned about the illumination of the hall after being told that a double illumination system was set up to ensure different illumination for sports games and events as instructed by Kim Jong Un.
He learned about the construction of the hall and corridor, going up from the ground floor to the third floor.
Watching data on the successes made by sportspersons in various events on display in the halls on every floor, he said that not only sportspersons but people would be pleased to see them.
He dropped in at bed rooms, coaches' rooms, training rooms and dining rooms on various floors.
At the training room whose floor is covered with quality mat he praised builders for decorating the walls with nice color with a good idea.
He said it is good that training rooms are fitted with air conditioners and exhausters so that players may have regular trainings regardless of seasons.
He told officials to install TV sets and video cassette recorders in the training rooms so that players may watch domestic and international games and their trainings.
Noting that he was satisfied to go round the stadium, he highly praised officials and workers of the Guidance Bureau for Overseas Construction for admirably performing the task assigned to them by the party for the remodeling of the stadium.
The stadium with a long history has been successfully remodeled as required by the new century at a time when a new heyday of construction is unfolding, he said, expressing expectation and conviction that the officials and employees of the stadium would always glorify the immortal leadership exploits of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il by managing and operating the stadium on a regular basis.
He was accompanied by Jang Song Thaek, Ri Jae Il and Ma Won Chun


KIM JONG UN VISITS NEWLY BUILT 3-D RHYTHMIC CINEMA, VIDEO GAMES ROOMS
Pyongyang, September 14 (KCNA)-- Marshal Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, visited the 3-d rhythmic cinema and video games rooms newly built in the amusement house of the Rungna People's Pleasure Park.
He first went round the Rungna 3-d rhythmic cinema.
He looked round various places of the cinema to learn about in detail its construction, specifications of equipment and plan to operate the cinema.
After going round the audience rooms, control room and editing room, he was greatly pleased that soldier-builders successfully constructed the modern cinema in a brief span of time.
Watching 3-d films "Winners" and "Don't wait for us" in audience room No. 5, he learned in detail about the quality and sound effect of films and rhythms.
He praised the officials and technicians of the Mokran Video for having successfully produced 3-d films requiring latest technology by devoting all their creative wisdom and enthusiasm.
He said it is important to successfully blend rhythms with themes of films in order to let youth, children and working people feel interesting in the imaginary world the same way they do in reality, while watching 3-d films.
He underscored the need to put the operation of the cinema on normal footing by successfully carrying out plans for showing films and controlling equipment as the cinema is to be visited by many people in the future.
He noted that it is necessary to build such cinemas not only in Pyongyang but also in each provincial capital.
He said that the appearance of the modern cinema would help make people's laughter ring out more loudly at the pleasure park.
He then moved to the newly built video games rooms.
Going round the rooms, he was greatly pleased that visitors can enjoy peculiar games under the care of the WPK.
The video games rooms are a gift the WPK presented to the people, he said, underscoring the need to raise the sense of responsibility and role of the service persons and successfully manage equipment if their operation is to be put on normal footing and schoolchildren and working people are to be provided with best convenience.
He learned about the operation of amusement facilities and service rendered at the Rungna People's Pleasure Park.
He then learned in detail about the outdoor stage for performance newly built at the pleasure park.
He stressed the need for the employees of the pleasure park to manage it better as it is visited by many people and regularly operate it in the spirit of devoted service to people.
He was accompanied by Jang Song Thaek, Ri Jae Il, Pak Chun Hong and Ma Won Chun.


KIM JONG UN WATCHES WEIGHTLIFTING GAME
Pyongyang, September 15 (KCNA) -- Supreme leader Kim Jong Un, together with Ri Sol Ju, Sunday watched senior women's 63 kg and 69 kg categories of the 2013 Asian Cup and Interclub Junior and Senior Weightlifting Championship.
Kim Jong Un met with the vice-chairman of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWD) who is also first vice-chairman of the Asian Weightlifting Federation (AWF), the general secretary of the AWF and the vice-chairman of the AWF in the venue of the weightlifting event.
They thanked him for making sure that necessary steps were taken so that the championship could be held successfully.
They said that his presence was great support and encouragement to the AWF and great honor and happiness for them as well.
Kim Jong Un said that he was very pleased to see weightlifters from different countries playing in Pyongyang with sports enthusiasm sweeping across the DPRK and public interest in sports steadily increasing in the country. He appreciated the big efforts made by AWF, IWF and other related bodies for the successful opening of the championship.
DPRK women Ri Jong Hwa, Ryo Un Hui and Jo Pok Hyang won gold medals.
Chinese weightlifter Long Dingling also bagged a gold medal.
He clapped them in congratulation of their success.
He expressed the conviction that the championship drawing men and women players from over 10 countries and regions would serve as an important occasion in boosting exchange and cooperation among sportspersons and further developing the weightlifting techniques.

Among the spectators were Pak Pong Ju, Choe Ryong Hae, Jang Song Thaek, Jang Jong Nam, Kim Ki Nam, Ri Yong Su and other senior party, state and army officials, as well as Pyongyang citizens.
