POWER OF IDEOLOGY IS LIMITLESS

The whole course traversed by the Korean revolution, which has won only victory overcoming hardships of history, is an eloquent testimony to the fact that the power of ideology is limitless.

When they set out on the road for the country’s liberation from the Japanese military occupation (1905-1945) at the beginning of the previous century, Korean revolutionaries had nothing with them.

Ideology was the one and only weapon of the Korean revolution which started from the scratch. Upholding the banner of the Juche idea and the Songun idea advanced by President Kim Il Sung (1912-1994), Korean revolutionaries waged an arduous and heroic armed struggle against the Japanese imperialists armed to the teeth while rallying comrades and obtaining weapons by the strength of ideology. With no state to back them from the rear or support from a regular army, they achieved the liberation of the country (August 1945) by defeating the powerful Japanese imperialism boasted of being the “leading power” in Asia.

After the country’s liberation they successfully carried out complicated and challenging tasks of building a new society by enlisting broad sections of the masses by the strength of ideology.

By giving full play to the political and ideological might they also shattered the myth of the mightiness of the United States during the three-year Korean war (1950-1953), plunging it to downhill slide. When the war broke out, a few people thought that Korea could emerge victorious. However, the service personnel and people of the DPRK, two years old after its founding, decisively repulsed the armed invasion of the US-led imperialist allied forces, united in one mind and will to safeguard their ideology and society at the cost of their lives, and thus demonstrated the spirit of heroic Korea to the whole world.

Though the US burgled that Korea would never rise up even after 100 years, the Korean people accomplished the tasks of postwar reconstruction within three years with the same mettle as they displayed in the war. Then they dynamically launched the Chollima movement wiping out passivism and conservatism and realized the industrialization within 14 years (1957-1970) which took other countries dozens or hundreds of years. High politico-ideological enthusiasm of the people brought about the establishment of people-centred socialist society of the Korean style and of the socialist state, independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence. In the closing years of the last century Korea rose up as an impregnable socialist fortress while remained unperturbed by both international political upheavals like the collapse of socialism in several countries and the extreme manoeuvres of the imperialist allied forces carried out to isolate and stifle it, taking advantage of the collapse. Korea, once having been put under the eclipse on the world political arena due to lack of power to defend it, is now a dignified member of the world’s space and nuclear club which embrace only a few countries.

Noteworthy is the fact that such a reality in Korea has not been created in smooth or peaceful environment.

The showdown between Korea and the imperialist allied forces headed by the US over the past 60 years is a war without gunshot and a showdown of power and ideology.

It is not because it enjoys military, technical and economic supremacy that Korea has defended its sovereignty, dignity and socialism in the showdown with the US which calls itself the “only superpower of the world.”

Korea does not have great territory and population and moreover it suffers from the tragedy of territorial division owing to the US. It is because Korea held fast to ideology and gave full play to the spiritual strength of the masses by the strength of ideology that it safeguarded socialism and laid a launching pad for building a thriving country without any vacillation in the face of severe situation and hardships in the closing years of the last century when the imperialist allied forces, taking advantage of the collapse of socialism in several countries and bragging about the “complete end-up of socialism on the planet,” concentrated their efforts on stifling it.

The indomitable spiritual strength of the service personnel and people of Korea to build a thriving socialist nation by the strength of ideology gave birth to one innovation after another startling the world. All the land under cultivation was realigned into standardized plots for the first time in the 5 000-year-long history, bringing about a sea change in the appearance of the country and CNC technology, a cutting-edge technology, has been introduced into machine-building industry on a high standard.

In December 2012 Korea succeeded in launching its first applications satellite Kwangmyongsong 3-2. In 2013 it made eye-opening successes in the building of a thriving socialist country and a civilized socialist nation including the construction of the Munsu Water Park, Mirim Riding Club, Masikryong Ski Resort and medical service bases like Ryugyong Dental Hospital and Okryu Children’s Hospital.

The Masikryong Ski Resort is a good example of how limitless is the power of ideology.

It was a large-scale and modern ski resort, the first of its kind in Korea, and its building was a grand nature-harnessing project which had to be carried out in steep mountains and under bad weather.

However, KPA soldiers wrought a miracle of completing the project, which had been estimated to take more than 10 years, overcoming the manifold difficulties and hardships with heroic spirit of implementing the order of supreme commander Kim Jong Un unto death.

Now the Korean people are advancing vigorously towards the targets of becoming power in all aspects including the economy, science and technology and sports by the strength of ideology which has no limit in width and depth.

 

KIM JONG UN ENJOYS ART PERFORMANCE GIVEN BY MORANBONG BAND

Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- A performance was given by the Moranbong Band at the April 25 House of Culture Monday in congratulation of the participants in the 9th national meeting of artistes. It was honored with the presence of Marshal Kim Jong Un.

When he appeared in the auditorium together with Ri Sol Ju all the participants broke into rousing cheers of "hurrah!"

He warmly acknowledged the enthusiastic cheers of the audience.

He warmly shook hands with persons of merit in the field of literature and arts who made contributions to the development of Juche-based literature and arts, true to the guidance of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and highly praised their feats.

The performance started with the playing of the national anthem. Put on the stage were female solo and pangchang "Thought of Love", light music "The Sound of a Horse's Hooves in Mt. Paektu", female solo and pangchang, "Thinking of the General", serial light music "Series of World Famous Music", female quartet "Dash toward Future" and finale "People Are United in Single Mind."

The performers truthfully represented the profound reverence for Kim Jong Un who glorifies the undying leadership feats Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il performed by giving origin to the revolutionary literature and arts and providing their precious tradition and ushers in a heyday of Juche-based literature and arts in the new century.

They impressively dealt with the stirring reality of the times in which a dynamic drive for creating the Korean speed is in full swing, the harmonious whole between the leader and the people based on love and affection and the high pride and self-esteem of the people creating high socialist civilization.

At the end of the performance, Kim Jong Un asked the performers to come close to him and congratulated them on their successful presentation. He warmly waved back to the enthusiastic cheers of the audience.

Among the audience were Hwang Pyong So, Kim Ki Nam, Choe Thae Bok, Choe Ryong Hae, Kim Yo Jong and officials of party and armed forces organs and participants of the meeting.

KIM JONG UN LOOKS ROUND CONSTRUCTION SITE OF APARTMENT HOUSES FOR EDUCATORS

Pyongyang, May 21 (KCNA) -- Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army (KPA) Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK, looked round the construction site of apartment houses for educators of Kim Chaek University of Technology.

Going round the site, he learned in detail about the construction.

He was pleased to see the high-rise apartment houses. He said that the buildings with curved surface of their outer walls look like a sailing ship afloat on Taedong River, adding that they are fashionable structures reflecting the party's intention to steadily improve formative art in architecture and masterpieces demonstrating the architecture of the DPRK rapidly developing after the workshop for workers in the field of construction.

Noting that shops and other welfare and service facilities on the ground floor of the apartment houses look nice and stable and entrance between corridor and drawing room has been constructed well, he praised the soldier-builders for constructing them as required by the design ratified by the party.

It is the work-style of the soldier-builders of KPA Unit 267 to fully meet the requirements of the construction method and successfully ensure the safety of the structure, holding high the slogan 'Let us take responsibility for the safety of the project and guarantee its absolute quality for all eternity', he said, calling on all those in the construction field to learn from their work style.

He gave an instruction to push ahead with the frame project and inside and outside plastering and the production of furniture at the same time.

As I always emphasize, in order to achieve successes in scientific research it is necessary to solve in a responsible manner the issue of living of scientists and researchers who conduct it, he stressed.

There is nothing to spare for the educators dedicating their whole life to training talents of the country, he said, noting it is the party's intention to build lots of such apartment houses to provide them to teachers and researchers in the future.

He underlined the need to construct more apartment houses for the teachers and researchers of Kim Chaek University of Technology so that they may conduct education and scientific research free from worries in their living.

He said a new street would be formed on the bank of River Taedong if more apartment houses for 500 families of the educators of Kim Chaek University of Technology and service facilities appear with the apartment houses now under construction as an axis. He added that it was good to call it "Mirae Kwahakja (Future Scientists) Street".

He called for making the layout of the interior and exterior of the street at the best level and thereby using their construction as an occasion in making a revolution in the construction once again. He proposed completing the construction by the Day of the Sun (birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung) next year by sending a powerful building force made up of service personnel to the construction site of the street.

He said he would examine and decide on the issue of building more apartment houses for 500 families of educators of Kim Il Sung University as soon as possible.

He called on the soldier-builders to complete the construction of the apartment houses for the educators of Kim Chaek University of Technology by the founding anniversary of the WPK so that they may be provided to educators and researchers of the university. He expressed his expectation and conviction that KPA Unit 267 would realize the intention of the WPK in practice.

He was accompanied by Choe Thae Bok, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, and Lieut. General Ma Won Chun, director of the Designing Department of the National Defence Commission.

KPA WILL WIPE OUT PARK GEUN HYE-LED MILITARY HOOLIGANS TO LAST ONE: COMMAND OF SOUTHWESTERN FRONT OF KPA

Pyongyang, May 21 (KCNA) -- The Command of the Southwestern Front of the Korean People's Army (KPA) issued the following open report on Wednesday:

The Park Geun Hye-led military gangsters' provocative hysteria has reached an extreme phase.

On May 20 alone, gangsters of the south Korean puppet navy perpetrated such a grave military provocation as firing at random at the warships of the Korean People's Army which were on regular guard duty in the southwestern waters of the DPRK side and peaceable Chinese fishing boats.

This was a deliberate grave provocative act of firing bullets and shells perpetrated by the south Korean puppet hooligans despite the fact that they were well aware warships of the KPA navy were operating to check the illegal fishing operations of Chinese civilian fishing boats in the sensitive waters.

The deliberate preemptive firing perpetrated by those military gangsters in the waters of the West Sea of Korea where the situation always remains so tense that a war may break out any moment can never be overlooked.

The gravity of the provocation lies in that it was timed to coincide with the mad-cap live-shell firing drills being staged by the gangsters everyday on Paekryong, Yonphyong and Taechong Islands, etc. while escalating their military intrusion into the waters of the DPRK these days.

Such premeditated military provocations being perpetrated by the Park Geun Hye group after amassing huge quantities of destructive weapons are not unrelated to its serious ruling crisis.

Angry south Koreans are now staging candle-light demos demanding "impeachment of Park Geun Hye" and the puppet military is being hit hard by the public for unceasing breach of military discipline and such foolish anti-DPRK racket kicked up by it, describing even a "door of toilet" as a "drone from the north".

The Park group let loose such unpardonable invective as terming the DPRK a "country which should disappear", triggering off an all-out retaliatory battle of its service personnel and people.

It is a sinister intention of the Park Geun Hye-led military gangsters to tide over its serious crisis and escape its shameful defeat in the local elections at hand by making military provocations against the DPRK in the sensitive waters.

The Command of the Southwestern Front of the KPA sends the following open notice:

1. From this very moment, all warships of the south Korean puppet navy, big and small, which recklessly maneuver in the sensitive waters of the southwestern front, hot spots, will become without exception targets of the direct sighting firing by all strike means under the above-said Command.

The warships of the puppet navy recklessly maneuvering at the direct instigation of the military hooligans are the root cause of military provocations deliberately straining the situation in the above-said hot spots and they are, therefore, targets of physical strikes which should be blown up without fail.

2. The south Korean side will face military strikes of the KPA without any warning at the moment the latter detects any trifle provocation near the maritime guard demarcation of its army and around the five islands in the West Sea of Korea.

It is the most urgent task for providing a sure guarantee for the peace of the country and the security of the nation to put under control the reckless preemptive firing, the height of confrontation with compatriots, in advance.

3. We unhesitatingly clarify before the world our will to settle accounts with the villains of the south Korean puppet army right now if they are to fight us at any cost.

We advise them not to fire bullets and shells in the back lane awkwardly and cowardly but seek a formal military solution.

This stand is based on our resolute decision to wipe out the sworn enemy, confrontation maniacs, on this land to the last man.

The determined and practical military actions on the Southwestern Front of the KPA will help people clearly see in reality who will disappear and who will tower high on the ground and in the sea.

LIKE FATHER, LIKE DAUGHTER

Thirty-five years have passed since an end was put to the dictatorship of Park Chung Hee, which brought a disgrace on human history by its politics resorting to torture and intelligence service based on the Yushin (Revitalization) Constitution and NSL (National Security Law).

But, today south Korea has become a replica of the past dark days.

DNA OF PARK GEUN HYE

When Park Geun Hye was inaugurated as the first female president in the history of south Korea, the world opinion was that how she, daughter of former dictator, was elected as president.

And it has been revealed that she has inherited all the DNA identifications of her father.

Park Chung Hee had seized the presidential power by a military coup, and his daughter by election campaign coup, a political coup. The presidential elections, which turned out to be a great illegal rigging with the interference of the National Intelligence Service (NIS), laid bare her sinister ambition for the power and her disposition of taking it as her father had done in the past.

After taking office, Park Geun Hye’s disgraceful behaviours in establishing and ruling government as well as administrating politics remind everyone of her father. Park Chung Hee had been a despotic autocrat in his 18-year ruling career, and, the current south Korean president is following in his wake. She is restoring to oppressive means and mechanisms that had existed in her father’s ruling period, and has placed on important posts in the government the leftovers from the Yushin days and their descendants. She is high-handed and self-opinionated in political administration, and is heedless of Cabinet ministers in implementing policies, thus causing trouble in state affairs.

She has brought about an era of people’s misfortune, instead of an “era of people’s happiness,” which she promised, and a dark era of fascism, resembling her father’s dictatorship. She has set on the road of “hunting” political opponents, wielding the National Security Law. She has clamped down on the opposition parties and progressive forces that demand justice, democracy, reunification and the right to existence by revoking the NSL. Not only workers and peasants but also political figures, media people and religionists could not escape her clutches of oppression.

Her father had fixed it as a state policy to expose pro-communist elements, and she has put forward the wiping out of pro-north elements and system defence as state policies. To this end, she is sweeping the whole south Korea with the “chase hunting of pro-north elements,” reminding everybody of “witch-hunt” prevalent in the mediaeval ages. Participants in peaceful rallies and demonstrations sponsored by United Progressive Party, Democratic Party, Trade Union of Teachers, Confederation of Democratic Trade Unions and other legitimate political parties and public organizations, have been attacked by water cannons and tear-gas bombs.

South Korean media and even foreign media, greatly shocked by Park Geun Hye’s administration, are criticizing that “an era of barbarism has arrived” and “she is leading south Korea to the era of Park Chung Hee dictatorship.”

REVIVAL OF DICTATORSHIP ERA

Now the world has clearly understood why Park Geun Hye has clamoured so boisterously about the political restoration of her father. Her true intention is to revive the Yushin order.

The first thing anybody brings into relation with Park Chung Hee’s Yushin order is the “New Village Movement.”

During his rule Park Chung Hee initiated the “New Village Movement” on the pretext of boosting up the declining rural community, but, in fact, it was geared to shackling people more tightly to fascist dictatorship. This movement had thus long been forsaken by south Koreans. The majority of respondents in a public opinion poll said that the term “new village movement” conjures up “Yushin dictatorship,” “a movement that harassed and persecuted people,” and “a movement of plunder.” Contrary to these opinions, Park Geun Hye has embellished that the movement constituted a “driving power that worked out miracles” and “ideal of Yushin and action principle,” and asserted that the movement should be developed to a pan-national movement and internationalized. South Korean newspaper titled, Hangyore carried an article, criticizing that Park Geun Hye’s argument was nothing but an anachronistic act that put the clock back.

Worse still, history textbooks have been revised to beautify the May 16 military coup by Park Chung Hee as a “revolution to put to right disorders” and a “determination of national salvation.” There are attempts to praise Park Chung Hee by naming after him a library, a park and even chopped noodles and boiled rice in soup.

At the instigation of Park Geun Hye the leftovers of the Yushin era are bustling around, vociferously talking that “dictatorship is necessary” and “the days of dictatorship were good.”

Mass media lament the present reality that makes people hallucinate as if Park Chung Hee had come back to life and been managing state affairs, saying, “Yushin dictator Park Chung Hee has come out of his grave” and “Park Chung Hee, spectre of Yushin, is being made an idol.”

UNAVOIDABLE FATE

What causes greater anxiety among the international community is that Park Geun Hye is restoring the conception of confrontation pertaining to Park Chung Hee’s dictatorship.

Her father became notorious by advocating “two Koreas” and having concrete walls of permanent division built. Now she is driving the north-south relations to a catastrophe by fully negating the inter-Korean declarations that won worldwide support and welcome.

In pursuant to her reckless confrontation policy against fellow countrymen, south Korea is continuously conducting north-targeted nuclear war exercises together with the United States, thus exposing the Korean peninsula and the rest of the world to a danger of nuclear holocaust.

However, it is obvious that her confrontation manoeuvres will be doomed to failure, like her father had tasted the same bitter cup.

Today south Korean people are demanding that the truth of illegal elections should be found out and that Park Geun Hye, main culprit of destroying people’s livelihood and democracy, should resign from office. Her fate is as perilous as a light exposed to wind.

She will meet the tragic end as her father did, because she is mimicking her father as like as two peas in a pod.

KIM JONG UN PROVIDES FIELD GUIDANCE TO CHONMA ELECTRICAL MACHINE PLANT

Pyongyang, May 25 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, provided field guidance to the Chonma Electrical Machine Plant.

After being briefed on the monument to the field guidance given by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, Kim Jong Un looked round the room for the education in the revolutionary history.

Looking at historic relics and mementoes with great attention, he looked back with deep emotion on the proud path covered by the plant under the care of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

This area where the plant is located and various other places of the country are closely associated with the footprints of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, he noted, adding: "Coming to my mind as I have reached the entrance to the plant was the image of Kim Jong Il who visited this plant several times including the period of the Arduous March, instilling conviction of sure victory and optimism into its workers."

He highly appreciated the feats performed by the workers of the plant, recalling that they have turned out in hearty response to the instructions given by Kim Jong Il on the spot and successfully carried out their production quotas despite manifold bottlenecks and difficulties.

He underscored the need for the party members and other workers of the plant to glorify the leadership feats of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il forever by increasing the production of efficient electrical machines, always remembering the glorious tradition in which they have upheld the WPK with increased production.

He went round different places of the plant to learn about the production and set forth the tasks to be fulfilled for its modernization.

Looking at the electrical machines produced by the plant, he said that they are proving effective in reality and high in demand. He praised its employees for waging a dynamic drive to overfulfill their national economy plan, true to the party's intention.

He underscored the need to expand the capacity of the plant and energetically step up the updating of the production processes in order to supply cutting edge electrical machines to various sectors of the national economy.

He gave an instruction to push ahead with the work to consolidate the material and technical foundation of the plant in a big way so that it may mass-produce multi-purpose electrical machines.

He underlined the need for the plant to put the production processes on a CNC basis at higher level in order to ensure the best quality of its all products to be favored by the users.

The development of new products, increase in production and improvement of quality would be unthinkable apart from science and technology, he said, calling for arranging well the room for disseminating science and technology and paying deep attention to the work for steadily raising the level of technical skills of the employees.

He told officials to successfully build not only welfare and service facilities but also a hostel and cultural hall so that the producers may work and enjoy a cultural and emotional life without any inconvenience.

He promised to solve all the problems arising in the work to expand the production capacity, update the production processes and radically face-lift the plant.

He expressed great expectation and conviction that the workers of the plant would face-lift it as required by the age of the knowledge-based economy and as befitting a highly civilized socialist country and successfully mass-produce modern electrical machines and thus make a contribution to the cause of building a thriving nation.
