DPRK FM SPOKESMAN URGES U.S. TO RESPOND TO ITS PROPOSAL FOR SIGNING PEACE TREATY

Pyongyang, October 7 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Foreign Ministry of the DPRK released the following statement on Wednesday:
Consistent is the stand of the DPRK to remove the danger of a war, defuse tension and create a peaceful environment on the Korean Peninsula.
Out of its desire to put the earliest possible end to the fragile state of ceasefire that has persisted on the peninsula and build lasting peace-keeping mechanism, the DPRK re-clarified its stand to replace the Armistice Agreement by a peace treaty at the 70th UN General Assembly. More than 60 years have passed since the conclusion of the AA but durable peace has not yet settled on the peninsula.
The U.S. and south Korea have staged ceaseless military exercises, big or small, under various codenames in and around the peninsula, increasing the danger of an unpredictable situation to be created by an accidental case.
The lesson taught by the August incident in which the situation reached the brink of a war in a moment due to a minor incident for unknown reason proves that it would be impossible to preserve peace on the Korean Peninsula any longer with the present AA that exists in its name only. The evil cycle of escalation of tension will repeat itself and the situation leading to the brink of a war will be unavoidable as long as the state of armistice persists on the peninsula.
No one can vouch that an all-out war would not break out on the peninsula and in that case that will quickly spill over into a world war.
A fundamental way of putting this serious situation under control is for the DPRK and the U.S. to scrap the outdated AA and sign a new peace treaty as early as possible to build durable peace-keeping mechanism on the peninsula. Since the conclusion of the AA we have made fair and aboveboard and realistic proposals and initiatives to replace the AA by a peace treaty and have made strenuous and sincere efforts to put them into practice.
The U.S. has to part with its anachronistic policy aimed to keep the armistice system and respond to the DPRK's just proposal for signing a peace treaty.
In fact, it is the U.S. which holds OPECON of the south Korean army and it is also the U.S. which manages the AA. If the U.S. boldly makes a policy switchover, we have the willingness to respond to constructive dialogue and then security environment on the peninsula will witness dramatic improvement and this will help the U.S. clear its security concerns.

We have already sent through an official channel a message urging the U.S. side to respond to the proposal for signing a peace treaty with sincerity. We hope that the U.S. will prudently study our proposal for the peace treaty and affirmatively respond to it.

KIM JONG UN WATCHES PERFORMANCE OF GRAND YOUNG SOLDIER-PEOPLE CHORUS

A grand young soldier-people chorus "We Will Follow Marshal to End" was performed Saturday in the presence of

He warmly waved back to all the performers and congratulated them on performing immortal feats in building the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station.
The performance began with narration and grand chorus "Ode to General Kim Jong Un", revolutionary hymn.
The performers truthfully represented the service personnel and people's intense loyalty and profound reverence for
Kim Jong Un who is dynamically advancing the Korean revolution and the youth movement along the road of victory and glory.
Put on the stage were numbers including dialogic poem "Care of the Sun", female chorus "We Cannot Live without You" and grand chorus "We'll Always Cover One Road."

Kim Jong Il, traveling along the rough mountain road to visit the construction site of the power station, though he was not feeling well after his foreign visit.
They presented merry and cheerful instrumental ensemble and grand chorus "We Will Go to Mt. Paektu," a combination of dances, instrumental music concert and dance with drums, representing the noble spiritual world of the young people in Paektu who have brought the Songun youth culture into bloom by learning from the revolutionary fighting traits, optimism and life style of the anti-Japanese revolutionary forerunners. They deeply impressed the audience.
The large group poem reciting "We Will Follow Marshal to End" reflecting the young people's pledge of faith reverberated far and wide across mountain ranges of the Paektu area.
The chorus ended with grand choruses "Song of the Red Flag" and "Ardent Desire", fully reflecting the faith and will of all service personnel and people.
At the end of the chorus, fireworks celebrating the great victory of the heroic young people of Korea in glorious October were displayed to beautifully decorate the nocturnal sky above the Paektu area.
Kim Jong Un, together with young builders, watched fireworks gorgeously displayed to promise a bright future of the country, an ever-victorious power of the youth.
He expressed expectation and belief that the young people in Paektu who staged the grand young soldier-people chorus powerfully demonstrating the might of the power of the youth without an equal in the world would successfully discharge the mission and duty as the scouting party and flank unit of the party in the future, too.

KIM JONG UN MAKES SPEECH AT INAUGURATION CEREMONY OF PAEKTUSAN HERO YOUTH POWER STATION

Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, made a speech at the inauguration ceremony of the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station.
The following is its full text:
Dear trustworthy young vanguard,
Dear guests,
Dear comrades,
Today, amid warm congratulations of all the service personnel and people, we are making public to the whole world the inauguration of the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station.
Construction of the gigantic power station that demonstrates the indomitable mettle of the young people in the Songun era, who follow our great Workers' Party of Korea, is a great event that adds brilliance to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the glorious Party and promises a bright future of our dignified State.
Here, at this power station construction site at the foot of Mt Paektu where a legendary tale of heroic youth has been created, our trustworthy young people have built their grand monument shedding patriotic sweat and blood in the spirit of death-defying implementation and raising an envy of the whole world, and have thus fully lived up to the expectations of the Party Central Committee.
Answering with their burning hearts the Party's militant call to build the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station by the 70th anniversary of Party founding as befits a grand youth monument in the Songun era, our young people have performed in this Paektu area feats of labour most brilliant in the history of the youth movement of Korea.
Members of the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade, vanguard fighters of our Party, have unsparingly devoted the strength and passion of their precious youth, building dams for several years in these deep, rugged mountain valleys far away from the capital city of Pyongyang.
No words will be enough to describe fully the feats of labour of the shock brigade members, who have built dams and dug waterway tunnels inch by inch breaking rocks and moving mountains with sledgehammers and crow bars for several years in the face of biting northern cold.
When even means of transport were frozen in intense cold, they transported building materials with large and small sledges; the death-defying corps members bolstered up the railway bridges with their bodies in the icy water of the Sodu. Everyone will bow to the revolutionary, self-sacrificing and patriotic spirit they and other young people have displayed in building the power station.
In particular, they have carried within some 120 days the amount of work equal to what they did in the previous 10 years by working day and night with the youthful courage and mettle of Paektu which our Party gave them, and built the dam of power station No. 1. This is a fruition of the patriotic devotion and loyalty of the builders including the young people of Paektu, who have all turned out in adorning our Party's history of building a youthful power with proud labour successes; it is also a legendary tale of heroic youth that can be created only by the young people of Korea who have been educated and trained in the embrace of the Party.
In the course of building the dam of power station No. 1 our young people have grown up into heroes of the times, into giant artists of creation, and proved in practice our Party's history of attaching importance to young people.
The dam rising over there is the accumulation of the burning patriotism and loyalty cherished by our young vanguard, and the height of the dam of power station No. 1 is the height of the dignity of our country with heroic young people, a youthful power.
Busy as they were with building the power station, the youth shock brigade members and young soldiers built beautiful socialist villages for the people, who were living in the districts to be inundated, and planted trees and flowers in the area of the power station. This working manner testifies to the ennobling world of loyalty of our young people, who implement death-defyingly every single policy advanced by the Party.
All the monumental structures built on this land carry the heroic feats of our young people, and many of them are named in honour of them.
There are no young people in the world as laudable as ours who volunteered to work in this remote mountainous area, not in the flourishing urban quarters, and find the worth of living in carrying out the Party's intention, and who cultivate themselves in a revolutionary way by working out the curriculum of "Paektu Youth University" and giving marks to their conscience every moment and every day on their own.
When I saw the proud shock brigade members working, I felt deeply grateful to them and I felt like raising them high up in the sky with my arms.
Whenever our revolution faced trials and difficulties, those who buttressed my mind were the young people who volunteered to start their career at the construction site of this power station and won the diploma of the "youth university" after working with patriotic devotion in the Paektu area.
At the moment the problem of young people is the most knotty one in the hot and disputed areas of the world, but our young people serve our Party as its spiritual buttress, as its solid cornerstone.
The Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station has been built in the situation worse than other construction projects; when I think of the young people who have performed heroic feats in building it, I feel a soaring indomitable will to carry out the revolution for the sake of them, the future of the country.
Sure enough, our Party is blessed with young people, the greatest of blessings.
The Party Central Committee highly appreciates our trustworthy young people, who have proved through their painstaking efforts and self-sacrificing struggle that our Party's determination immediately means a reality and materialization, and demonstrated to the whole world the might of the young vanguard in the Songun era.
Availing myself of this meaningful opportunity, I extend to all the builders including the members of the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade and the service personnel of the People's Army, who have performed great feats of labour in the building of the power station, warm thanks and militant greetings in the name of the Workers' Party of Korea and together with the blessing of General Kim Jong Il who valued young people and gave prominence to them.
Comrades,
As I am attending this inauguration ceremony of the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station today, I feel a yearning desire to see General Kim Jong Il. It seems to me that he is bestowing warm praise on us from the faraway Kumsusan Palace of the Sun for our laudable deed.
The Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station is associated with his ardent love for young people who represent the future of the country, a proud structure demonstrating the might of our Party's policy of attaching importance to young people.
He was steadfast in his revolutionary faith that there is nothing in the world that we cannot achieve if we enlist the strength of young people who are dependable successors to the revolution and the most vigorous of social forces. As he trusted them so much, he charged the youth league with the entire project of building the power station.
He said on several occasions that he could have the People's Army or the Cabinet take charge of the project but he decided to entrust our young people with the whole of it, because the youth league is a powerful combat unit that implements our Party's plans unconditionally and, more importantly, because he intended to educate and train them in the course of carrying out the project.
He saw to it that the shock brigade was named in a meaningful way in reflection of the aspirations of our young people who would faithfully support the Party's cause looking up to Mt Paektu, the sacred mountain of revolution. He also resolved all the problems arising in building the power station, even ordering a special plane to carry padded coats for the members of the shock brigade.
He was seriously ill in the closing years of his revolutionary career, but on his return from a foreign trip, he visited the construction site of the power station in the rugged mountains before dealing with important Party and State affairs. He spoke highly of the young people for having made notable progress in the project and inspired them to perform new heroic exploits. It is very moving to tell about our General's painstaking efforts of patriotic devotion that permeate every nook and cranny of the power station.
That the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station has been built as a grand monument by young people to mark the 70th anniversary of Party founding, shows how sagacious the leadership of the great Comrades Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and our Party has been in preparing them to be stalwart successors to the revolution.
To review the course of building the power station, the Party is most pleased about the fact that our young people have armed themselves with one ideology and achieved more solid unity as intended by the great General, rather than the construction of the dams and the possibility of easing the strain on electric power in the Mt Paektu area. This is most important, and it is the greatest achievement to us.
The fierce ten-odd-year struggle with nature has produced many young heroes of our era, the young hard core, who are determined to death-defyingly defend the Party with revolutionary faith, sharing destiny with its Central Committee.
As they have cultivated themselves mentally and physically with the clean water and air of Paektu and tempered their courage and faith in the blizzards of Paektu, our young vanguard are the most dependable successors to our Party and reliable pillars of our socialist country.
Under the Party's trust and affection this large contingent of warriors with a strong sense of organization and discipline and enthusiasm for the revolution and struggle has been trained to carry forward the revolutionary cause of Juche;this is a great victory that cannot be compared to obtaining millions of kilowatts of electricity.
As we have such an army of young people, our Party is powerful and our country is widely recognized as a youthful power without parallel in the world.
In the course of building the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station have been created the charging spirit and culture of young people that are representative of the Songun era, which constitute a precious asset for the promotion of the youth movement in our country.
The charging spirit of young people in the Songun era created at the site of this grandiose nature-remaking project, where Mt Paektu, the sacred mountain on which the Korean revolution was pioneered, is within a calling distance, is a spirit of rushing straight forward after pushing aside other things in hearty response to the Party's call, a powerful attacking spirit of levelling a mountain and blocking a river course at a stroke like exploding dynamite, and a spirit of self-reliance and self-development of tiding over indescribable difficulties by dint of comradeship and the might of the collective.
The Songun-based culture of our young people is a wholesome culture of developing our decent things, not adopting gaudy ones of others, a militant culture of advancing full of vigour singing revolutionary songs loudly in the face of difficulties, and a typical socialist cultured way in the Songun era of leading an assiduous, meticulous and cultured life whatever the situation.
When the ranks of young people across the country brim over with this spirit and culture, as pure as the limpid water of Lake Chon and as straight as the larches on Paektu, the might of the youthful Paektusan power will grow ever stronger.
This is why our Party intends to erect here a monument to the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade members and exhibition hall of their feats so as to hand down their achievements to posterity and have all the people who are on study tour of the revolutionary battle sites in the Mt Paektu area learn on the spot from the spirit and culture of the young people of Paektu.
The inauguration of the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station powerfully demonstrates to the whole world the greatness of our Party that has provided a brilliant solution to the problem of education of young people, the most difficult problem in the revolution and construction, and established a youthful power.
Cheers for the idea of attaching importance to young people resounding far and wide in this meaningful October will be a roaring thunder over the enemy who are scheming to pull down our socialism by degenerating and benumbing young people and a loud gun report signalling a fresh spur to the all-people general advance for final victory.
Comrades,
It is the unshakeable determination and will of our Party to put forward young people in the vanguard of the ranks of the general onward march as masters of the times and help them put up the doorplate of a thriving country before anybody else.
Now the Party Central Committee firmly believes in them as reliable comrades-in-arms, who will advance shoulder to shoulder with it in the effort to shape a beautiful future of our country, our motherland.
Our Party, believing in the inexhaustible strength of millions of young people, has unfolded a bright blueprint to beat the world, and they are duly in the central position in executing all the operations worked out by the Party Central Committee.
The Party's leadership is the lifeline of the youth movement of Korea, and the might of the large contingent of young people is guaranteed by the Party's leadership.
All the young people should always advance vigorously, straight forward following the Party with unstained loyalty and conscience.
"Let us rush forward along the course of the Korean revolution sailing with the blizzards of Paektu!";this is a slogan of trust advanced by our Party. This militant slogan should be upheld everywhere young people live and work.
The whole country will become astir when young people are in high spirits, and a prosperous future will be brought earlier when their steps are faster.
Our great country making a leap forward with youthful vigour is calling our young people to theatres of building a thriving nation where fresh feats are to be created.
Young people should turn out in high spirits in the sacred struggle to translate the Party's plans and determination into reality and set up structures named after youth in various places, so as not to regret having failed to add brilliance to their youth, the only precious period in their life.
When young, one should cherish a great ambition and enterprising spirit to present world-startling research result or to work at the speed of a supersonic plane.
All young people should launch dynamic movements of youth shock brigade, young guards, youth workteam and youth subworkteam at every theatre of the revolutionary struggle so as to make youthful vigour pervade it.
A vigorous campaign should be waged across society to emulate the charging spirit of the young people in the Songun era and their culture created in the Paektu area.
The undertaking to follow the examples of the Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade members is a wide-scale ideological offensive to bring about a turn in the education of young people and freshen the atmosphere of our society as demanded by the developing reality and to resolutely thwart the imperialists' moves for ideological and cultural infiltration and defend our ideology, our spirit and our culture.
All the working people of the country, not to say the rising generation, should keep in mind how the shock brigade members created the legendary tale of heroic youth and how invaluable the patriotic sweat and blood they shed in the days of working against all odds, and live and struggle the way the young people of Paektu did.
The Party's information network and mass media should give wide publicity to the ideological and spiritual world, fighting mettle, assiduous work style and revolutionary optimism of the shock brigade members, and make the whole country seethe with enthusiasm for learning from them.
Bearing in mind that developing the youth movement is most important in strengthening the Party and the State and it is a strategic demand of the revolution, Party and youth league organizations at all levels should bring up young people into a reserve force, advance group and wing of our Party and thereby add eternal brilliance to its exploits in building a youthful power.
Immovable is our Party's determination to ensure that cheers for the victory of building a thriving country ring out first in the Paektu area where the Juche revolution originated and which is the spiritual mainstay of our people.
The Paektusan Hero Youth Shock Brigade members and all other builders should harden their resolve to build on their already-gained successes and make continuous offensive, continuous advance and continuous innovations.
With firm belief in our heroic young people the Party Central Committee orders them to finish the project of building Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station No. 3 unconditionally by next Youth Day.
And they should take the lead in speeding up the laying of broad-gauge railway lines between Hyesan and Samjiyon, sprucing up Samjiyon County as befits the cradle of the Korean revolution and building Ryanggang Province as a model unit for other provinces to follow in potato farming and all other economic affairs and in improving the people's living standards.
Let us all dash forward towards a bright future, the Party Central Committee believing in young people and they believing in it on the worthwhile onward march to achieve the prosperity of our country, our motherland, a precious inheritance of the great Comrades Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il associated with their lifelong struggle.
The painstaking efforts of patriotic loyalty made by the young people in the Paektu area will live forever in the memory of our Party, our motherland and our people.

Glory to the young vanguard unfailingly loyal to our Party, masters of the dignified youthful Paektusan nation!

I gave an instruction to the officials of the factory to cut down the packing cost while packing medicines well during my visit to it last year, he said, noting that it has brought about a fresh improvement in packing medicines, ensured their hygiene, culture and utility at a high level and their instructions are given to the convenience of users.
And he went round the modernly expanded transfusion factory.
It is a laudable success that the factory is producing transfusion medicines that meet the requirements of the international medicine production and quality control standard by putting the production process on an automated and stream lines and production environment on a germ-free and dust-free basis at the highest level, he said.
He gave important instructions which would serve as guidelines for managing and operating the factory.
He stressed the need for the factory to pay special attention to the work for thoroughly guaranteeing the security and reliability of all medicines while increasing varieties of reserve medicines including antipyretic and analgesic medicines and digestives and further raising their efficacy and establish a strict discipline and order in the medicine production, examination, storage and handling.
He underscored the need to firmly build the technical force of the factory with able talents well versed in modern science and technology and continue to exert great efforts for positively introducing advanced technology in order to make fresh progress in development and production of medicines.
He noted with great satisfaction and high appreciation that the factory has achieved a signal success at a time when eye-opening miracles and feats are being performed in succession in various parts of the country and monumental structures in the era of the Workers' Party are springing up like bamboo shoots after rain thanks to the high-pitched drive of the service personnel and people to glorify the 70th founding anniversary of the Party with high political enthusiasm and labor feats.
He said that he felt proud of making the revolution whenever he saw great successes made in all places he visited, adding that he liked to carry those doing a lot of work on his back and there is nothing to spare for them. He showed profound loving care for the factory.
He expressed the expectation and belief that the officials and employees of the factory would fulfill their responsibility and duty as intended by the Party and thus positively contribute to giving fullest play to the advantages and might of the socialist healthcare system before having a photo session with them.

He was accompanied by Hwang Pyong So, Kim Yang Gon, So Hong Chan and Jo Yong Won.

COURAGEOUS STATESMAN

The supreme leader Kim Jong Un of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, the youngest national leader in the world, has become the focus of international attention.
He has gained his worldwide renown as a statesman with unexcelled courage.
The December 2012 launch of the DPRK’s first applications satellite served as a milestone in demonstrating his dauntless courage.
As the US and its vassal forces were clamouring about the sanctions against the country, branding its peaceful artificial earth satellite as a missile, he went to the launching site to give an order for the launch and command the whole process. This reaffirmed that the DPRK does what it is determined to do.
The US, taking issue with the country on its launch of the applications satellite, instigated the UN Security Council to adopt a hostile “resolution” and threatened nuclear strike against it. The DPRK leader responded by issuing an order to conduct the third underground nuclear test in February 2013. The following month, to cope with the desperate aggressive moves by the US, he called an emergency operations meeting on the performance of duty of the Strategic Rocket Force of the Korean People’s Army. At the meeting he examined and finally ratified the plan of the Strategic Rocket Force that envisaged striking even the US military bases in Guam, Hawaii and the US mainland.
The news was a bolt from the blue as no other country had dared to declare a strike at the mainland of the “sole superpower” that had for centuries invaded other nations and lorded it over them in a high-handed and arbitrary manner.
The West and south Korean media reported that Kim Jong Un became a global leader after the launch of the DPRK’s third underground nuclear test, he was not afraid of war, and he was determined to square up to the US.
He never flinches in the face of a huge enemy force. In March 2012 he inspected Panmunjom on the Military Demarcation Line, the hottest spot on the Korean peninsula.
The pluck with which he arrived in broad daylight at the place where the US army’s latest hardware and sophisticated monitors are concentrated, struck the world with astonishment. The US and south Korean soldiers were horrified to see him watching their movements with a pair of binoculars on the balcony of the Panmun House.
More surprisingly, he posed for a photograph with his soldiers there including those who were relieved of their guard duty. To the officials who were worried about his safety, the Supreme Commander said that the enemy would not dare to attack as he was inspecting Panmunjom, adding that he was defending it that day and they should bring all the soldiers, those on duty in particular.
Commenting on this, the south Korean media said that they were surprised as if they were seeing a flash of lightning and thunder in the azure sky, and the White House and the Blue House exploding all at once.
In August 2012, when the US and south Korean armies were conducting the joint military exercise Ulji Freedom Guardian against the DPRK by amassing latest hardware and troops, he took a small 27-hp wooden ship to inspect an island-defending unit at the hottest spot in the southernmost of the southwest front on the peninsula.
Moreover, he initiated the holding of the First Conference of Pilots of the KPA in Pyongyang in April 2014, when the enemy’s joint aerial drill was at its height.
He said at the conference that though the whole of the airspace of the country was open in the grave situation in which the air above the southern part of the Korean peninsula was swarming with the imperialist blowflies, all the pilots of the KPA were called to attend the meeting, and added that the fact itself was the victory of their grit, courage and mettle, and it showed that the mentality of the brave pilots overpowered the enemy.
Indeed, it was a bold measure that cannot be found in any renowned general’s biography.
The whole world admires him for his unshakeable determination to counter the US nuclear and missile strike with the nuclear and missile strike of justice and turn its entire land, the den of evil, into a lake of fire if the enemy dares to start a nuclear war on the peninsula.
He is absolutely confident of final victory.
In January 2015, when the US army was conducting another military exercise in a bid to provoke the DPRK, he organized and directed a military drill of hitting enemy target on the sea.
The striking means of the services of the KPA opened fire at an islet which was the simulated target for an aircraft carrier battle group of the enemy. The firing drill was a serious warning that if the enemy attacked the DPRK, the KPA would react by striking as far as the US mainland.
Most recently, he saw the test-firing of a strategic submarine-launched ballistic missile. The completion of the SLBM technology enabled the country to possess a world-class strategic weapon with which to strike and destroy the hostile forces, trying to impair its sovereignty and dignity, in any waters and to stage underwater operations at will.
The DPRK has been fully prepared to cope with any type of war, operations and battles the US wants and chooses, including a war by means of conventional forces or a nuclear war–this declaration is sending a message that the DPRK leader is determined to end the showdown with the US that has lasted dozens of years.

If another war breaks out between the DPRK and the US, it is self-evident that the former with an invincible army commanded by the courageous leader will be the victor.

KIM JONG UN GOES ROUND COMBINED SERVICE BOAT MUJIGAE

Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, went round newly-built combined service boat Mujigae.
Kim Jong Un said that if a fashionable combined service boat having various service facilities such as restaurant and cultural and welfare amenities is built to cruise between Okryu Bridge and Taedong Bridge, it will be another good place for cultural recreation of the people, guiding its design several times and personally solving all issues arising in its building. He named the boat Mujigae.
The boat with a total floor space of more than 11 390 square meters is 120 meters long and 25 meters wide and has a displacement of 3 500 tons. At least 1 230 guests can cruise in the picturesque Taedong River at a time, being served with Korean and world famous dishes.
The four storied boat has such modern service facilities as national food restaurant, coffee room, soft drink room, party room, banquet hall, buffet restaurant, deck restaurant, revolving restaurant, shop, etc.
Kim Jong Un looked round the boat to learn in detail about its building and preparations for service.
Noting that its designing and interior and exterior construction were done at the best level, he said with great satisfaction that everything is impeccable and formative art was applied to it at a high level.
He appreciated the installation of a peculiar round lift and the construction of round stairs, adding that the revolving restaurant on the third floor looks spectacular and it is fantastic to command a bird's-eye view of Pyongyang from it.
Noting that it is possible to regularly operate the boat only when effective measures are taken to supply foodstuff and other things to it as it has a huge accommodating capacity, he took a benevolent step for doing so.
The boat will be visited by a lot of the people, he said, adding that thinking of the people who will cheerfully laugh and talk while cruising in the river helps him relieve of the pent-up fatigue and he feels the greatest pleasure when having provided one more treasure to the people like that. He gave an instruction to start its service before October 10.
The building of the combined service boat Mujigae convinces us of the fact that we can reach the world level in all aspects, he said, underscoring the need to build all service facilities to be constructed in the future at the level of Mujigae so that the people may enjoy a highly civilized and affluent life.

He was accompanied by Hwang Pyong So, Kim Ki Nam, Kim Yang Gon, O Su Yong, Jo Yong Won, Hong Yong Chil and Kim Yo Jong.

Kim Jong Un Tours Commodity Show Presented by Munitions Industry

Kim Jong Un, supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, toured a commodity show presented by the munitions industry.
On display at the show, organized at his proposal, were more than 1 800 kinds of daily necessities which are produced at munitions industrial establishments.
Kim Jong Un went round the show to learn in detail about the number of consumer goods and their quality.
Noting that the production of commodities in the munitions industrial field has developed into a patriotic movement for the Party and the State for more than six decades since President Kim Il Sung initiated it in August 1954, the Supreme Commander said: We should always remember the devoted efforts made by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il to improve the people's living standard, and convey their loving care for the people down through generations.
To produce in a larger quantity quality consumer goods at the munitions industrial establishments is for implementing the behests of the great leaders, preserving our own things and giving fuller play to the advantages of our socialist system, he said, urging the officials in the munitions industrial field to steadily push forward this work as an important policy issue.
He stressed that the officials, party members and other working people in the munitions industrial field should turn out as one in the production of commodities with the strong resolution that they are responsible for the important work to provide the people with richer and more civilized life.
It is needless to produce any goods unsuited to the people's taste and what is important in turning out commodities is to sensitively understand what kind of goods the people like and concentrate efforts on the production of goods winning their favor, he said.
It is the Party's intention to fill every shop of the country with quality domestic commodities, he said. And he encouraged the relevant field to plan this work in a big way and push forward it boldly, saying that he would personally solve the problems arising in the production of commodities.

DPRK FOREIGN MINISTRY SPOKESMAN TOTALLY REJECTS "EXPERTS' MEETING" OF HOSTILE FORCES

Pyongyang, September 23 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK released the following statement Wednesday: The forces hostile toward the DPRK are trying hard to justify international cooperation for pressuring the DPRK by abusing the UN human rights arena as a theatre for "human rights" racket against the DPRK. On the sideline of the 30th meeting of the UN Human Rights Council the U.S. and other hostile forces held what they called "experts' meeting" on the non-existent "human rights issue" in the DPRK where they cited the already-bankrupt anti-DPRK "investigation report" and "human rights resolution", finding fault with the DPRK and fanning up an international atmosphere critical of it. The DPRK rejected the convention of the "meeting" itself and did not feel the need to take part in it from the beginning as it was clear that the anti-DPRK "human rights" campaign is aimed at "change of social system" and "replacement of regime". But the DPRK took part in the "meeting" to reveal before the international community the truth about the enemies' anti-DPRK "human rights" racket as what would be mentioned at the "meeting" would be very provocative ones going beyond the tolerance limit. As was anticipated, the "meeting" was proven again to be a sinister political farce aimed at "overthrowing the social system" of the DPRK under the pretext of human rights as it was a product of the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK. Irony is that the U.S., chieftain of war of aggression and the biggest human rights abuser, took the lead in discussing someone's "human rights issue" while painting itself as an "advocate of human rights". The U.S. is an evil empire getting engrossed in harassing peace and committing all sorts of human rights abuses not only inside the country but in all other parts of the world. It is also the U.S. which caused the serious refugee issue sweeping the whole of Europe. Page 2 of 2 As the U.S. started wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria and other parts of the world and fostered civil wars under the pretexts of "war on terrorism" and establishment of "democracy", refugees have been on sharp increase and there are increasing international voices blaming the U.S. for the refugee issue. The recent "experts' meeting" glaringly revealed the clumsy nature of Japan and EU countries blindly obeying the U.S. for the sake of alliance, being indifferent to the encroachment upon the sovereignty of specified countries. What should not be overlooked is the improper attitude of the UN Human Rights Council. Far from taking issue with serious human rights abuses that have become the target of worldwide denunciation and censure, the UN Human Rights Council, siding with the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK, allowed itself to be used as leverage for putting pressure on specified countries. This abnormal development left the DPRK greatly skeptical about the principles of impartiality and strict neutrality touted by the body. If such practices are continuously fostered and connived, the international human rights arena will become a political confrontation theatre for serving interests of individual countries, not one for realizing genuine dialogue and cooperation. It is the consistent stand of the DPRK to wish for dialogue and cooperation for the protection and promotion of genuine human rights but to strongly reject dialogue and cooperation targeting sinister political purposes. The DPRK bitterly denounces the anti-DPRK "human rights" campaign like the "experts' meeting" as an intolerable politically-motivated provocation and hardens its will to strongly counter the hostile forces' "human rights" racket to the last. We will defend and further consolidate Korean-style socialist system, a cradle of a happy life of the Korean people, no matter what others may say.

DPRK FM SPOKESMAN ACCUSES JAPAN OF RAILROADING SECURITY BILLS THROUGH MEETING OF HOUSE OF COUNCILLORS

Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry Saturday issued a statement accusing Japan of railroading the security bills based on the new "Japan-U.S. Defense Cooperation Guidelines" through the meeting of the House of Councillors on Friday. The "security law" which comprises the "law on readjusting the law on peace and security" and "law on support to international peace" related to the dispatch of "the Self-Defense Forces" overseas, a comprehensive revision of ten laws, is the evil law worked out to pave the way for invading other countries from A to Z. The enactment of the "security law" helps Japan stage military operations in every part of the world under the pretext of protecting peace and security and assisting the U.S. forces and dispatch the SDF overseas any time, the statement said, and went on: Japan's militarist moves are posing a grave threat to peace and stability in Asia and the rest of the world. The present situation clearly proves how just the DPRK was when it has bolstered up its capability for self-defence as strong as an iron wall under the uplifted banner of Songun. The DPRK will further increase the war deterrence to cope with the dangerous moves for aggression against it. Japan has enacted the war law in the long-run, obsessed with an anachronistic ambition for reinvasion. This will compel Tokyo to suffer another horrible war disaster and it will have to regret it forever.
