Kim Jong Un Makes New Year Address

    Pyongyang, January 1 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un , first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, made a New Year address for 2015.

    He paid highest tribute to President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and sent them New Year greetings, representing boundless loyalty of all service personnel and people.

    Under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea last year the DPRK provided a firm foundation for bringing earlier the final victory on all fronts for building a thriving nation and demonstrated its invincible might, he said.

    He noted that 2015 is a significant year marking the 70th anniversary of Korea's liberation and the 70th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.

    He underlined the need for all service personnel and people to dynamically advance toward the grand festival venue in October, holding high the slogan "Let Us All Turn Out in the General Offensive to Hasten Final Victory in the Revolutionary Spirit of Paektu!"

    He stressed the need to further increase the invincible might of a socialist political and ideological power this year.

    He underscored the need to give fuller play to the might of a military power by effecting a new turn in building the revolutionary armed forces and bolstering up the defence capability.

    He called for giving a definite priority to science and technology and bringing about a turn in building a socialist economic power and a highly civilized nation.

    In order to successfully attain the gigantic goals for this year, it is necessary for all officials, party members, service personnel and other people to live and struggle in the revolutionary spirit of Mt. Paektu and in the spirit as strong as the wind on Mt. Paektu, he said.

    He stressed the need to surely achieve the reunification of the country, the lifelong desire of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and the greatest cherished desire of the nation, and build a dignified and prospering reunified powerful nation on this land though the situation remains complicated and difficulties and bottlenecks are lying in the way.

    "Let the Whole Nation Join Efforts to Open Up a Broad Avenue to Independent Reunification in This Year of the 70th Anniversary of National Liberation!" This is the slogan of struggle to be held by the whole Korean nation, he noted.

    He said that the Workers' Party of Korea and the DPRK government will strengthen in every way the bonds and solidarity with the world progressives loving peace and aspiring after independence and justice and positively develop the good neighborly and friendly relations with all countries which respect the sovereignty of the DPRK and are friendly toward it.

    He emphasized that there is no force on earth that can block the way of the army and people of the DPRK dashing ahead like snow storm on Mt. Paektu with the unshakable revolutionary faith and the spirit of winning sure victory under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea, and the final victory belongs to us.
